When she was created, the Astrum Andara was a top of the line cruise ship. She has since been converted into one half of a school catering to the creative, the brilliant, and those who can buy their way into her elite set of alumni. Astrum is the sister-ship to Lunis Lariulla- Astrum carrying the female students and Lunis the male.The schools has many rich patrons and money is not an obstacle for those with talent or brains enough to receive a scholarship.

The Astrum has both single and double dormitories, scholarship students receive a bed in the double. The ship is personified by Andara, a holographic representation of the main computer- left over from her days as a cruise ship. The headmistress is Sara Kyrian- a graduate of Astrum Andara herself.

To narrow it down, this game will focus on some of the girls living on the Artemis quadrant of the Astrum's dormitories. There are two single dorms and several doubles. Each double dorm has a bathroom between the two, shared by the four girls on either side of it. The singles have their own small bathrooms each. Room assignments will be allotted when your school application is turned in.

Past

Still forming a timeline, sorry. Feel free to use the ooc thread to suggest major events but don't be offended if I don't use it.

There's definitely a third world war that wiped out a major portion of the population. Terrans have been space-capable for quite some time but are still considered to be infantile and new to the galaxy at large.

Present

The present is a turbulent era in Terran history. The greater races of the galaxy have declared that Terrans are potentially dangerous to the other races of the galaxy. Not because of their inherent violence, but because of the parasites.

Historians have looked back on Terran history and determined that "parasites" are the source of the legend of vampire. They are still unable to determine if they are native to Earth or arrived sometime in the distant past. It is known that they seed themselves into hosts and feed from the blood of other Terrans. The host is a separate being, dominated by the parasite. How they are spread is unknown as well. Clearly the parasites are intelligent, but their hosts are unwilling.

So far, Terrans are the only race that are known to be compatible with the Parasites. The other species living in the universe are keen to keep it that way. They all have their attention focused on humanity and the small, blue planet called Earth.

Appearance: Miss Kyrian is tall and slender. With porcelain-fair skin and dark hair she looks more like a doll than a person. She wears conservative make-up that accentuates her dark green eyes.
Distinctive Markings: Unknown (hohoho)
Clothing: As a teacher, Miss Kyrian does not have to wear a uniform. She is usually in a neat blouse and skirt when she moves about the passageways of the Astrum. When left to her own devices in her quarters, Sara likes soft and comfortable fabrics and pastel colors.
Belongings: Her violin, crafted during the second ice age.

Personality: Miss Kyrian is a bit of an ice queen. She has a cool personality and isn't easy to approach. A graduate of Astrum Andara herself, she was top of her class in nearly everything she did. A lot of her icy nature is an attempt at perfection.
Field of Study: When she attended Astrum, Sara was a music major with a focus on archaic instruments of earth. She is gifted with the violin, playing since her childhood.

Significant Other: A fiance on Earth. Though she frequently contacts him, he never seems to make an appearance on the ship.
Family: Parents and a younger sister. Sara visits on the holidays.

Appearance: Lisa is a petite girl with green eyes, a curvy build, and curly auburn hair.
Distinctive Markings: She has a tattoo of a cameo of her grandmother on her neck as well as a half sleeve.
Clothing: Aside from her uniform, she usually dresses in vintage or pinup style clothing.

Personality: She is snarky, sarcastic and playful around new people. In fact, it is quite difficult to get close to her. When people do get to know her they find that she is a kind and loving young girl.

Appearance: Short and slender, Ceci is a dancer and her build reflects that. With strawberry blonde hair and a freckled complexion, her startling blue eyes tend to stand out.
Distinctive Markings: Two earrings in each lobe and one in her cartlidge. A tattoo on her left hip which she is desperate to keep secret from her mother.
Clothing: Cecilia likes old-cotton materials like jeans on those few occasions she is not in her warm up gear or school uniform. She is curious about other styles but has to stay strictly conservative at the school.
Belongings: A small collection of jewelry inherited from her grandmother, ballet slippers, a quilt, and a tea set.

Personality: Cecilia constantly questions herself and her choice to pursue dance and ballet. Attending the school which her mother teaches at was perhaps a poor choice as she hasn't quite figured out she can question the choices her mother makes for her or forge her own path. Sweet and eager to please, Ceci is used to doing what others want and will sacrifice much for those she cares about.

Age: Approx. 24, turning 25 soon

Appearance: Standing at about 5'5", Toni is on the shorter side of average height and at one point in time she probably even looked exactly like her twin. Her real weight is unknown, but generally estimated to be about 120lbs as she is thin and never appears to weigh much less than that. Of undterminable descent, Toni's features are a sort of grab-bag. She has a green almond-shaped eye that slants slightly and lightly tanned olive skin. A few scars mar her skin; the lightest but most
closely spaced are the ones on her knuckles, elbows and knees. Matching her skintone is a roman nose and her high and sharp cheekbones mark yet another ancestor from another place. She has been seen with other hair colors and hair of different lengths all within a week's timespan, but on her records it is noted that her natural hair color is brown. Also noted on her records -- and not so easily disguise-able -- is that she has a set of four parallel facial scars running down the left side of her face, two of which intersect her eye. It is presumed that she wears an eyepatch when not wearing dark sunglasses as her left eye is now non-functional even though it is there.

While her appearance is ever-changing, her voice is no longer disguiseable. The doctors did what they could, but amongst her past injuries was one to her throat that almost destroyed her larynx. These days her voice is likened to a raven's call or like she has been smoking for thirty years. When moving, Toni seems to glide more than walk. Where she picked up the strange way of walking is as much of a mystery as her ancestry, but it is obvious she's seen her share of fights and life.

Clothing: Black jeans or BDU pants and a dark red t-shirt with a leather biker jacket seems to be Toni's uniform when out of school uniform.
Belongings: A couple of rather expensive cameras, lenses and other photo equipment. Lockpicks. Climbing rope and harness. Climbing chalk and bag. A few miscellaneous tools largely related to metalworking.

Personality: Toni may have a dry sarcastic -- and occasionally morbid -- sense of humor, but she certainly knows how to live life. When not working she enjoys partying and taking risks, usually ones that involve climbing things she shouldn't be or racing. If asked a question she'll answer it, but often it's a good idea to take her answers with a grain of salt...or as a joke. To her life is a game and her job is the ultimate game. There is a bit of a dark side to her, though, but it's usually unnoticeable...afterall, who would notice if someone like her had a bit of a problem with their temper or was jaded? If they did notice, would they care?

As for what she wants to be later in life, Toni doesn't really know. All she knows is that she would like to be alive and in one piece. It should also be noted that Toni and her twin are nigh inseparable. It is rare to see one without the other somewhere nearby.

Appearance: Torin looks quite a bit like her twin sister and yet not at the same time. Toni sticks out in a crowd, but Torin seems to disappear into it. Unremarkable and unmemorable is perhaps the best way to describe her with her average height and a build somewhere between athletically-skinny and average. Like Toni she is of undterminable descent with sort of grab-bag features. Her light green almond-shaped eyes have a slight slant and her skin is naturally a faintly tanned olive. Matching her skintone is a distinctly roman nose and her high and sharp cheekbones mark
yet another ancestor from another place. She has been seen with other hair colors and hair of different lengths all within a week's timespan, like Toni, but on her records it is noted that her natural hair color is brown.

Personality: Compared to the sarcastic Toni, Torin is so quiet that she is nearly silent. While not exactly shy, she prefers to fade into the background and people watch. Of the twins, she is the designated sober party and she certainly has the cooler head. Torin will take risks to some degree, but she is often the voice of reason and planning in Toni's plans. As for what she wants to do in the future, no one's asked her and she's never said. Seeing as she's the twin who actually plans, it is probable that she does have an idea but is keeping it silent because that's what she does.

Name: Sparkle Sonander
Age: 21
Race: Human
Player: Aenakume

Appearance: (image) Sona works hard to be as nondescript as possible - even going so far as to go by her last name rather than her flamboyant first name - and luckily, nature has helped by making her of average height, average build... average everything. At 168 cm she is neither short nor tall and, thanks to careful environmental control when she was growing up, although she is slender, she is normally slender - she does not have the "spiderhuman" gangly look of most low gravity children. She keeps her straight black hair cut professionally short - but not too short. She wears just enough makeup to silence anyone accusing her of wearing none - but no more. Even her clothing is always location and situation appropriate - but nothing more than that; there is never any flair or personality displayed in her wardrobe.

In fact, the only things memorable are her eyes and her way of moving. Her eyes are a remarkable blue - a gift from her parents, and the cosmetic engineers who did the were were artisans. When she looks you over, multiple facets of blue ranging from ultramarine to turquoise, with flecks of teal for contrast sparkle in the light (in fact, that was the reason her parents chose that particular cosmetic surgery as a gift - to make her given name that much more literal). Her new eyes attract so much attention that Sona has taken to avoiding eye contact, or keeping then narrowed, to prevent people from noticing them as much.

The other notable thing about Sona is the way she moves. Because she has spent more than half her life in low gravity or zero gravity environments, she has become accustomed to a flowing forms of motion intended to keep her centre of gravity and inertia under control. The net result of that conditioning is that Sona never makes a sudden move, and whenever she lifts one arm or moves one leg, she instinctively moves the other arm or leg in the opposite direction to counterbalance the motion. To an observer, she seems like she is dancing in a ballet, exaggerating her movements for dramatic or artistic reasons, but of course, the opposite is true - she would prefer not to attract so much attention, but she cannot help the way she was conditioned to move.

Clothing: When not in school uniform, Sona prefers standard shipsuits - form-fitting unitards with soft-soled shoes that adhere to the walls and floor in zero-gravity, that are designed to deploy an emergency hood and gloves in the event of sudden depressurization, and to help keep the wearer alive for several minutes in hard vacuum. If she is working, or just feeling self-conscious and desiring to hide her figure, she will wear a lab coat overtop.

Personality: Sona has been accused on numerous occasions of being a computer, and not just because of her inhuman intelligence. She is sanguine to the point of appearing emotionless, and has a habit of commenting on the things going on around her as if she were a entomologist making field observations and everyone else were bugs. She is not naturally cruel, but if rubbed the wrong way she can quickly turn disdainful and rude - her wry sense of humour turns into a vicious weapon quickly. However, generally speaking she is polite and friendly, although not entirely warm or inviting.

Family: Sona's parents and her three elder brothers are asteroid harvesters living on Triton. Sona talks to them occasionally, and sees them on holidays if transportation is practical.

Important Events in Life
1. Finished secondary schooling on Triton at age 10, but could not go on to college because her parents could not affort to send her.
2. Served as cabin girl on Kuiper belt mining ships and ore freighters for five years, developing an interest in physics.
3. Earned her Able Starfarer's licence at 13.
4. Published an article in a theoretical physics journal at 14.
5. Hired by a research think tank at 15, and spent the next five years refining her theory.
6. Realizing that she needed to complete her formal education, Sona took a sabbatical to study on Astrum.

Leaning with her left hip against the railing of the second floor that over looked the grand lobby, brown eyes watched from behind strands of deep red hair as students and staff, new and old arrived. A slender finger tapped softly against unpainted lips, as the twenty-something student searched the arrivals for possible....delights.

"Lets see...."
The words were barely audible, spoken as a breath exhaled across her parted lips. Unlike the majority of students and staff, Jane did not leave Astrum Andara, or AA for the winter and summer breaks, living on the ship as she had since she first started attending the school.

The long breaks left her in need of a new... toy to play with at the start of the new term. The poor girls simply a means of temperately relieving pent frustrations over her 'unrequited' feelings for the school's headmistress...

'Unrequited my a**..... she wants me'

Brushing thoughts of the beautiful... and engaged headmistress aside, Jane continued her visual scan of those arriving, making mental notes of the ones who caught her interests.

Jane turned her head, brushing her bangs from her eyes to look at the AI fully, a smirk dancing on her lips as she regarded the female appearing personification.

"I would tell you to inform her I'd be more inclined to attend my punishments if they were spankings, and if she was the one giving them..... But we both know you wont do it."

The red head's smirk turned to a down right wicked grin. Her and Andara were indeed well acquainted, the AI knew many things about Jane that few, - not even the headmistress - knew. Had Andara not been the representation of the ship's AI, Jane would call the silver haired 'female' before her a friend. One of the few 'people' she had to speak to during the long breaks from school.

The wicked smile faded, and Jane turned back to the view of the arriving students and staff, absently pulling a candy 'cigarette' from a box in her pant's pocket, placing the thin white stick of candy between her lips, chewing on it absently now and then.

"Inform Kyrian I will finish the last three hours of detention before the the first week is over. And before she makes the request, I will endeavor not to obtain any more detention at least until staff and other students have settled in for the new year. "

The lack of title attached to the headmistress' name implied a lack of formality between the two women, and the request to stay out of trouble at the beginning of the year had become standard.

Glancing at the AI, Jane smiled, this time a real one. "And Andara, how many times have I told you over the years to call me Jane?" She teased the AI as if she was flesh and blood. It was fun, as the ship's personality sometimes would surprise her by teasing back.

From around her candy stick, Jane smirked. "From any of the students? So... she accepts requests for spankings from the teachers?"
The words were followed shortly by a throaty chuckle. The idea of the headmistress actually giving specific instructions not to transmit requests for spankings was unbelievable, and amusing regardless rather it is true or not.

Jane stood head and shoulders it seemed above the AI, the red head clothing choices often simplistic, slacks and jeans, flats or low heels and button up blouses or normal shorts. Today the red head wore black slacks, black closed toed low heels and a white blouse with the top three buttons undone.

Looking at the AI, Jane rolled her eyes, shaking her head
"How does one put a ship into detention Andy?" The human female shorten Andara's name even further, going for the most informal form possible, without shortening it to An, or 'Dara, brown eyes watching the female AI.

Jane's brown eyes warmed and twinkled as she catch the smile. "You know I wont tell anyone that you call me Jane... after all, you don't inform the powers that be about my late night visits to the art room."

The student's late night adventures, particularly to the art room, or snack raids were a bit of a secret between the human and the AI. She was sure the headmistress likely knew. But the AI was the only one who really knew what the school's resident trouble maker and playgirl got into while the school was on break. The adventures were kept secret, under the condition that Jane did no damage to Andara's real 'body' aka, the ship. - In return, Jane said nothing to no one about the AI's more.. human like behavior... which shouldn't be possible even for an AI as advance as Andara.

Fishing another candy stick out, -this time offering the AI one - and placing it between her lips she turn thoughtful, thinking the AI's question over.

"What classes is she teaching this year?"

At almost twenty-four, Jane could have graduated two years ago, expect for the fact she would sign up for courses the headmistress taught, even when they had nothing to do with her area of study as a artist. The feisty red head could hardly be blamed, Sara Kyrian was insanely attractive and intelligent, and the human woman had developed a crush the first time the older woman had seriously dressed her down over something she had done.

Frowning around her candy stick, Jane slipped the box of candy back into the pocket of her dark slacks. She couldnt play a instrument, it wasnt that she was not inclined to learn, it was simply she never had the opportunity growing up, and hadn't had a reason to while attending AA.

If it had been the amateur courses, Jane would have been able to fake her way through it... the advance courses however...

Her expression morphed from a displeased frown to a more thoughtful look. The instructor for the basic and intermediate courses was a former professional pianist... and a one time lover who had played the redhead's body with the same expertise... Perhaps....

Sharp brown eyes twinkled with inspiration, a look she turned on the hologram.

"You said to classes.... one first term and one second term?

Doubtless, Andara could see that a plan was already rapidly forming in Jane's mind. The tall redhead knew that the plan that she was coming up with would mean a heavy work load.... but that hadn't stopped her yet!
