Ok everyone. I want your opinions and stories!

Do you believe in true love & how exactly would you define it?
Do you think some people are just made for each other or meant to be?
And of course...have you ever had a true love? heart

Me first. I'm going to skip to my last question first, yes, yes I have. We're not together anymore...but sometimes I think we're just waiting to get back together when we're ready. We both have stuff to work on, but we're magnetic. We can't just be friends, we're either glued together or trying to kill each other. What we have, most people wouldn't (and truthfully, don't) consider normal. I'd say we're made for each other, but not exactly meant to be. There's this choice factor, you see. And I'm not really sure what to choose. It's very confusing. Anyway, your turns! Post! Go!! Nao!!

Whoah, so philosophical. Anyways, it's tough to explain in concrete terms what true love is; like, everybody has their own opinion and definition about what true love is, and I think that they're all equally valid.

Honestly, I don't believe in soul mates. The idea of having a person who you're destined, or fated, to be with is a bit unnerving. It would be a bit boring if people were "made" solely for "the one." I say this because people fall in and out of love so easily. So I've come to the conclusion that a person can love the person he/she's with just as much as that person can come to love someone half way across the world. It's just a matter of compatibility.

Well, I definitely wouldn't see true love as "the one." Especially since humans are most often serial monogamists.

Wow true love....my view on it is yes its there it exists, but those who aren't blind to see it, or just let life live. but what i think it is, its that inseparable thing like what you said a magnetic, it just brings you back but yet you want to pull away......but something always attracts you back. Like when this sounds cheesy but completing someone's sentence or knowing their thoughts without saying anything its a special connections that occurs, that is unexplainable even though i am trying to explain it sweatdrop . I also think it deals with the person if someone doesn't want to fall in love, then it might not happen yet things occur without our choice

I like how you put it, inseparable.

I want to say i believe in true love because of how i see it is with My parents and other family and friends. But at the same time i do not believe it exist. I believe you can love someone and it be meaningful and makes it last until your old age. But i do not believe in soul mates. Because if there was a such thing as soul mates then we would have less divorces and other problems happening. I know it's going to sound harsh but i find love so over used and over rated.

Deep down, I believe in it... I've just had some really bad luck lately. Hopefully I can get over my feelings for my ex, so that my real true love has a chance to make it work with me.

You make a really good point, but i think thats the problem with people they over use the true meaning of love or under use it, like anyone now a days can say i love you but a few can say it with real passion

@Kamalia: I know what you mean, but true love doesn't really mean no divorces or problems. Or even only one love. Trust me, those are just misconceptions. In fact I might even say problems are MORE likely because the level of passion and feeling is just so much higher, more intense. (Exponentially more so if the people in question are both bipolar, like me and Josh are.) And maybe this sounds contradictory but I think I agree that love is over-used and over-rated. It's not like a romantic movie at all y'know? Even when it's special it's a lot of hard work and heartbreak, and a lot of people don't know the difference between like and love and tend to over-hype the slightest relationship.

@Clover: I have to disagree, I would actually say that it's relationships that are never unconditional. Love can be sometimes.

@Icee: sounds like you need a hug. *hugs*

@Slappy: what's really rare is when you don't actually -have- to say it anymore. It's understood, even when you're not together. How many people can say that post-breakup? (+1)

Wow! that is really true, i think that's why it has so much power because its a feeling that existing without having to always say it, i also think what people see as True Love depends how life has put a twist on their opinion.......

I agree that's why I made this thread, to see what twists we have just within our guild...

I do believe in true love because I know that even if you can be absolutely pissed off at someone and want to get away the other person still loves you and comes back every time. Yes I do believe that some people are meant to be because if not I know that my brother and his fiancee wouldnt even look at each other because they are so aike but so different. I havent had a true love unless you count a brother-sister love because that is forever.

I don't know if I believe in true love, but I do hope it exists.
