Nek'mani sighed, today was going to be one of those days. She could tell. Her father would be upset, but one day she hoped he would understand. She was going to go visit Malis, her great great grandmother. She wanted to learn how to heal and it wasn't even like she was going alone! Caoimhe, the alicorn mare, was going to be accompanying her. Speaking of Caoimhe...where in the Kawani lands was she?! The longer Nek'mani stood and waited the more sure she became that her father would return and put a stop to her journey. She scanned the sky once more and spotted a white dot that she hoped was the mare heading her way. The mare in question was returning from an early morning visit with her mate. Amitiel had the right to know that she would be gone, most likely for a long time. She didn't want him to worry. As she wheeled around to land, she noted with some satisfaction that her left wing, which had been injured during her battle with the Batwalker, Terra, was doing better today. She hadn't felt the usual twinge of pain that accompanied her maneuvers of late. Her mate had been less than pleased with what had happened, but understood and for that she was grateful. She was also grateful for the joint efforts of Zuilian and the two-legger Adsali that sheltered her. If it hadn't been for them, she might have lost her wing entirely. As she landed, she regarded the troll mare that she lived with with a smile. It seemed she was eager to leave. "Shall we get going then?" She was probably being cheeky and she knew this, but she really couldn't help teasing the younger mare a bit. They were soon on the road, making their way slowly towards where Nek'mani's grandmother Ai'jin had said the trolls could be found.

There had been a stirring of the spirits which had been getting stronger as time went on. Malis opened her eyes from her meditation and glared at the nearby tree for a long moment. Something was coming, a storm which would affect all and yet she could not fathom it's direction. With a firm push, the large troll mare stood up from where she had been laying. Many hours she had spent in this glade, protected by the charms and trinkets that surrounded the boundaries. She had hoped the fathom more about the disturbing feeling she had but for now it needed to wait. There was a herd to run...
After talking with her son for a while, Malis watched Sen'jin start out on his morning routine of checking their boundaries. The troll stallion also protected their sister herd of WillowGlen and in return Dayunsi grew many of the herbs that Malis needed for her shamanistic arts. Shaking out her dreads, the troll mare started on her own rounds, checking in on Tuuli and Kepi, her grandchild and great grandchild. They were already up and about, a blessing for her but a curse for their teachers. It was getting close to spring... almost time to start their teaching in the healing arts.

Nek'mani looked over at her companion. "Cam, do you think Daddy will understand? I need to see the rest of my family. I want to learn to be useful. Is that wrong?" She was so worried. Maybe she should've asked her mother to speak to him.... The young mare shook her head. No, it was probably better this way. Better not to cause an argument between her parents. Roque would understand as well. He knew that she sometimes felt like she useless and he would probably have encouraged her to go ahead and visit.
Caoimhe chuckled softly as they galloped towards their destination. The young mare was worried that her father would disapprove of her adventuring. What she didn't know was that Cam had already talked to Zuilian and convinced him to allow Mani to go on this learning journey with her. Hopefully the trolls would be able to teach them both to improve their healing abilities and maybe teach them things that didn't rely on the innate magic within their horns.
