Zephyranth could hear her father screaming loudly as he called for her to get up. Yawning, she opened her bright blue eyes as she stretched out on her soft sack of a bed. Standing, she quickly braided her hair and headed up the rickety stairs of the old lighthouse. Opening the door she stood there staring at the eyes of her father. "You can't keep sleeping in like that you lazy sack." he said as he turned to look out over the water. "Sorry Father. It wont happen again." she mummered back, trying to keep her sarcastic tone in check as she quickly ate the small breakfast of fruit and nuts her father had set out. Once she was finished, she quickly left the room not uttering another word to him. She knew not to bother him when he was like this and when Mother was not around, he was always like this.
Stepping out onto the hot beach, she wrinkled her nose for the moment, the sting of the hot sand under her paws, till she got used to it. Making her patrol, she wandered up and down the beach. Looking at the shells and often the water, wondering to herself what it would be like to just get away for the day. "Tis my lot I guess." she said to herself as she stared out at the sea.

Aegean wandered about, being the free-spirit he was, he just liked to go with the flow. He was happy to get away from the "kid" -- that usually meant Absinthe. His "big brother" demeanor was usually in full swing when younger ulayas were around.
That day was revealing itself to be very interesting. He happened upon a spacious beach that fed an endless azure sea. Aegean had to admit he was quite particular about water, having been named after a sea, he couldn't help but enjoy himself with it. As he crossed the beach to meet the water he stretched in the sun, the warm sand couldn't help but lull him into a dreamy world. Soon enough, he curled up next to the low roar of the waves for a midday nap.

She could hear her father's voice in the back of her head, pushing her to continue her rounds. As she turned, she sighed a little, the sun was hot today and it kept beating down on her. She hated it. As she continued down the beach, she caught a glimpse in the distance of something large and blue.
Slinking her ears down to the side of her face she drew herself low to the ground. Zephyr moved silently, her paws moving with the sand as she made her way closer. Keeping herself as stealthy as she could. Making her way over to him, she studied him from afar for the moment before grabbing a shell chunk. Taking it she threw it at him, waiting for him to move.

A hard thud hit him square in the back, he jolted awake and then looked around noticing a freshly placed piece of shell adjacent to him in the sand. He lowered his head and sniffed at it. Aegean sat up and contemplated the object. One thought only crossed his mind, he wasn't alone.
Next he looked around, not seeing anything at first in his quick survey, then out of the corner of his eye he spotted a mass moving; closer to him. He scratched his ear with his paw and got up to meet the assailant.
Aegean sat down on a dune crest and watched the opposing party, "That wasn't very nice, my dear..."

Her paws barely touched the sand at this point. She had been seen and yet she remembered what her father had said, she needed to keep herself alert and in a defensive position. As she got closer, she looked him over for the moment. His fur, was a bright blue like the sea, which made her smile for a moment. Quickly she shook her head.
"I think the question here, is why are you on my beach?" she said with slitted eyes, hiding behind her glasses. "I had to wake you up somehow did I not? And I don't know what your hiding. I think a single shell was more than nice enough. Wouldn't you think?"

Aegean was already a little irritable of being woken up in the middle of a nap. He liked his naps, but this female was certainly interesting. "Well, to answer your question, Miss," he began, "I happened to be on a long walk, and when I saw your beach, as you put it, I thought it looked mighty inviting to rest a bit aside it. "However, you hitting others with objects isn't quite lady-like, now is it?" That characteristic seemed to follow him wherever he went that day, It's Abbs all over again..., he thought and then sighed.
Aegean got up and walked over to her. He sat down in front of her and looked at her in an aside glance then smirked. He nodded once, "It's nice to meet you, I'm Aegean."

She huffed as he came closer, to her he was being rather condescending. It was after all her beach. Father didn't like it when strangers came to close to the lighthouse and thus, had her keep them at bay. She wrinkled her nose at him as he introduced himself.
Turning, she sat down on the beach, pulling her hair into her paws and tugging on it gently. Looking down at the fleeing grains of sand, she let out another slight exasperated sigh. "I am Zephyranth." she said to a point. "Though I guess you could just call me Zephy". She turned back away from him, looking out into the ocean. "I guess I'll say I'm sorry for throwing the shell. I hope it didn't hurt you to bad." She was trying hard not to look him in the eye.

He watched her shift and stare out at the sea, "Well, it's very nice to meet you, Ms. Zephy," he said bowing in her direction.
"Apology accepted," he smiled. Aegean refocused himself on the sea and nestled himself back on the sand for a second attempt at a nap. The ocean lulled him quickly into another dream-like state. It was easy for him to shift in and out of the world, but he didn't care who he was with and that was also his problem; Aegean was pretty trusting of everyone he met.

She turned with a smile, he having accepted her apology, made her feel a little more at ease. Obviously, he was willing to accept that she made a mistake, which meant that he would be willing to accept he didn't belong here and leave with no issue or so she thought. As she turned around with her mouth open about to make a kind gesture. She stared at him in complete and utter awe.
That awe however, would be short lived as her bright blue eyes glinted with a tinge of hate, her nose scrunching up as she bared her teeth for a moment. Any lady like qualities she had for the moment, out the window. Flipping her hair back over her shoulder she stomped over to the male, standing over him looking down as he slumbered with a seething passion. If looks could kill, anyone in a three mile radius would be a goner. She watched him for a moment before letting out a loud cough.
This time she was determined to try to be nicer. "Excuse me, I really don't think this is somewhere you should be sleeping. Shoo shoo, find your home." she said through gritted teeth, trying to force a smile.

Aegean cracked an eye and looked up at her, "What...? It's such a nice day, it'd be a waste to not spend a warm day, like this, at the beach." He smiled innocently. He noticed the lighthouse over her shoulder, Wow, lookit that... never seen a lighthouse before..., he thought to himself. He got up and shook the loose sand grains free of his coat.
"Hmm, well, I suppose I should free you of your torture... I guess I'll mosey on-along, then. Good day to you, Ms. Zephy." He nodded at her before heading by-way of the lighthouse.

Zephy sighed as she looked on before turning her back to the male in a huff, her long blonde and red tresses falling around her.. She couldn't believe the attitude this male had. First he came to her beach, then he gave her attitude and now he was heading towards her fathers lighthouse, her home. "Wait..." she thought before turning quickly running after him. "Stop! You! Hey you can't go in there!" she screamed, "Father will not be happy!!! Please you have to stop!"

He blinked at her, "Hmm?" Aegean stopped a moment and glanced back up at the lighthouse, "But you said to leave the beach... and technically the lighthouse isn't on the beach. I'm beginning to have mix signals, Ms. Zephy..."
He wasn't satisfied with the girl's attitude, "I'm also starting to think that you're hiding something." Aegean gave her a skeptical glance. "What's this about 'father' you speak of?"

She flopped beside him, trying to catch her breath. Any form of physical exertion was completely out of her ballpark. As she looked up, her bright blue eyes had an almost pleading look to them. "You shouldn't be on my beach and definitely." she huffed, "Not at my lighthouse. My father and I live there and he is very, very particular about his privacy and he definitely does not like strangers especially males. Hell he doesn't even like us very much..." she said pausing for a moment a small pain in her chest. Not sure if it was from the running, the anger or the thought of her father and his callous attitude.

Aegean looked down at her and lifted some of the stray hairs free of her face with his paw. "Well, that would pose a problem." He glanced back at the lighthouse and sighed. "I guess I won't plague you anymore then," Aegean nodded. He flashed a smile back at her before heaving himself back up.
Aegean figured since they lived on an island there were more beaches than just Ms. Zephy's so he would get to it another day. He stretched before leaving her, "Well, it was nice meeting you." He bowed and made his way back home.

Zephy's body tensed as he raised a paw, brushing her hair. She felt horrible, the sinking sensation down deep in the pit of her stomach ate at her. As she watched him turn and walk away, she kicked herself. "Great, someone to talk to that isn't father and you had to let your stubborness and pride get the best of you. No wonder you stay cooped up in the lighthouse with him when everyone else has 'escaped'." she thought to herself as she called out quickly.
"Hey..." she looked to the side, not wanting to give eye contact. "If you come back tonight...it's my shift to watch the lights. I Can sneak you up to the top if your quiet and show you a view. It's the least I can do for being so rude." hoping her words did not fall on deaf ears.
