Dhavlen was speechless. Next to his beautiful cheetah was a wild dog. Not even a female wild dog. He felt like he had been terribly cheated. Careful not to show his disappointment, he jumped down from the rock and made his way over to Lee and her friend. He smiled at Lee and the wild dog. "I see your friend is safe. My name is Dhavlen. It is nice to meet you."
The wild dog would have to go. He thought himself a welcoming sort, letting others species in his little gang. However he would never let a canine in. They could not be trusted. Those creatures were filthy, dirty and idiotic. They didn't deserve to be aloud in his gang. But how should he get rid of the wild dog without Lee noticing. It wouldn't be too hard to convince her that the poor creature died in the middle of the night, being that he was injured.
That would cause him to get his paws dirty. Dhavlen sighed. He wished that his lackeys were here. They were the ones who normally dealer with this kind of thing. He hoped that they would be back soon, dragging along his new recruit. He smirked to himself. That could always be the new cheetahs job. Killing worthless wild dogs.
Mirie knew that Dhavlen was a bad case. Meeting him only reassured this fact. There was a glint in his eye that was just asking for trouble. He would take Lee away from here once Dhavlen wasn't looking. For now he would just play along. "My name Mirie."
Lee looked at the two males and grinned. She just knew they would get along. "Dhavlen I brought this gazelle for us to eat." She pushed it toward him. It was large enough for all of them.
Dhavlen smirked. Things were going better than he had expected. Apparently Lee was an excellent hunter along with being beautiful. "Thank you Lee. Why don't you and Mirie eat first. Both of you must be hungary after your travel. I don't mind eating the leftovers."
Mirie ripped off one of the legs and took it away from the cheetahs. He didn't want to be anywhere near that slim ball cheetah. Dhavlen was trying to be nice, but Mirie could see right through the cheetah. He wouldn't allow himself to trust him that easily.
She thought everything was going so well! Dhavlen was being so hind to Mirie, but for some reason Mirie was being rude. To make it up she decided to eat with Dhavlen. She took someone of the meat and curled up next to Dhavlen. "Dhavlen are you traveling alone?" She had been wondering this for a while. She had seen no sign of others.
Dhavlen laid his head on Lee. He kept an eye on Mirie to watch his reaction. "Right now I am traveling alone. My friends are trying to find one of my other friends. He got lost and we are trying to hunt him down. It makes me worry. This is the first time I have really been by myself. It gets lonely."
"I have been alone for a while too, ever since I was a cub. I accidentally got separated from my family. It was scary for a little bit, but eventually I got used to being by my own." She explained. She pushed some of her meat toward Dhavlen.
Mirie watched with slight jealousy. Lee was his little sister, perhaps not by blood but that didn't matter. She was telling this cheetah about her childhood. Something that she never even told him. She trust others to quickly, but soon she will realize how horrible Dhavlen was and she would come back to him. He would just have to wait and be patient. It wouldn't take Dhavlen too long to show his true colors.
Dhavlen saw the look Mirie was giving him. He grinned triumphantly. His plan was starting to move already. If he couldn't kill Mirie than he would make sure he felt unneeded. He snuggled closer to Lee. She was so sweet and innocent. He wondered if the gods were pulling a cruel joke on her, making her come to him. It was that or they were finally blessing him. He took a couple bites of the meat.
"That's horrible Lee. I'm glad that you have Mirie now. I couldn't imagine what it was like before him for you. It must have been horrible for you." Dhavlen said. "How did you survive? I don't think I could have survived by myself for so long." All lies of course. He knew that he could handle being by himself. He had been doing so since he was young. He even had to deal with a abusive father and his many women.
"It was bad sometimes. There were a lot of people who helped me. Though I never stayed too long in a place. I wanted to find my family. I am still looking for my brother. To be honest I don't really remember him. I don't even know what he looks like." She said. It felt good to be able to tell someone about this. It had been bugging her for some time. She would tell Mirie, except she didn't want to annoy him.
"I think I am going to go find a river. I think I need something to drink." She said, getting up. She hoped that giving Mirie and Dhavlen sometime together might help them get along. "I will be back in a moment."
Dhavlen nodded his head. After Lee left he got up and laid next to Mirie. He was hoping he would have a moment to talk to Mirie guy to guy. "Look Mirie, I think that we got off on the wrong paw. I would really like us to be friends. I think it would be best for all of us if we got along. I would like to have you two travel with me for a while."
Mirie bore his teeth. He did not want to hear any of Dhavlens crap. "You don't want to be my friend. I know you just want Lee. I will not let you use her. She is important to me."
Dhavlen smiled and put one of his paw on Mirie's back. "I think Lee is a very pretty girl and I would like her and I to become more than friends. I will treat her kindly and gently. I will make her as happy as I could possibly make anyone and when she is ready she will bare me cubs."
"Not if I have anything to do about it. She is not interested in you and she never will. Get it past your stupid cheetah head. I suggest you leave now before Lee figures out how horrible you are." Mirie said, pushing Dhavlen's paw away from him. "If you don't I will tell her myself."
"She won't believe you. Ever since we met you have been showing your hideous green monster. Lee knows that you are jealous of me. She will think that you are lying to her just so you can get her away from me." Dhavlen said. "Face it Lee is now mine and there is nothing you can do."
"She will see you for what you are. Just wait." Mirie went back to his meat. Lee came back. Dhavlen went to her and nudged her head.
"Lee why don't we rest. I imagine you are tired after such a long journey." Dhavlen said, as he wraped his tail around her. He lead her to the den that she dug. "Mirie if you are tired there is plenty of room in the den for you as well."
"I would rather sleep in the cold than be in the same den as you." Mirie replied. Lee gave him a concerned look before entering the den. She curled into a ball and Dhavlen laid next to her, laying his head on her.
"Good night my little princess." He muttered before falling asleep. Everything was going perfectly.
