Belle scampered through the forest weaving under and over the obstacles in her path with an unconscious grace. The wind rustled through the branches, ruffling her shock of white hair and bringing with it the scent of blood. Her tiny belly still bulged from her last meal and her mouth was streaked with gore, she was satisfied but couldn't help but be drawn to that tantalizing scent like a bee to honey.

She perked her ears up and tilted her hear, she could just make out faint whimpering noises. They filled her with concern, she didn't enjoy the sounds of suffering. She clenched her teeth around the stick she kept around at all times, what if it was a trap? She scanned the forest to either side but the sign was still high in the sky and there weren't many places where a monster would be able to hide from her. Deciding it was safe she crept foreword carefully, she hated to waste a potential meal but if the creature was in pain she would put it out of its misery.

She peeked over a small ridge and below her saw something small and fuzzy shivering at the bottom of the gully. The surge of pity took her by surprise but she hefted the stick with determination. It's leg was broken, it would not survive long on its own.
