Kalena Scope (KaleidoscopeGrl)
With Rhydion in hand, Kalena wandered through the streets again. She found herself returning to Soul Emporium frequently. She'd discovered a brand new world, full of interesting and fantastic people. Since taking Rhydion home, Kalena's left felt a little brighter. Now she knew why. One day, he would manifest into something fantastic.
"Another lovely night, Rhyd." Kalena smiled. "Shall I continue reading the story tonight when we return home?"
Rhydion flickered happily. Reading the story about love, pirates, and adventure, was theraputic for Kalena. The school's musical production, consumed the majority of Kalena's energy, but it's serious and depressing themes exhausted her. Arriving at the shop again, Kalena paused before walking in. 'I wonder who I will meet today.'
"I hope I can bring you to the show," Kalena sighed wearliy. "I want you to see what I do at work all day."

Dusk (Rown)
Dusk looked up as he saw someone outside the shop, his quick reaction to pull himself into a small a ball as possible. Maybe if he stayed this small he wouldn't be seen, and that would be a good thing.
But astaying curled also hurt his legs and his bruises something fierce. It was no fun to be in pain, so he stretched out a little. Only a little.

Skutt w/Kanika (Skutt)
In a daze, Skutt wandered to the Emporium, doubtfully following the directions she had been given. In one hand she clutched a purse, the other held a small black lanturn, with a cat's face imprinted on the side.
She paused at the threshold of the building, and stepped cautiously inside.
Kanika glowed cheerfully, excited to be brought out into the wide (cold) world. Flakes of snow fell gently onto the little lanturn, and she seemed to shine all the brighter for it.

Kalena
Kalena saw the someone curled in a ball as she entered the shop. Instantly, her older sisterly side, forced her into the teacher mode. Working on the counseling and discipline committees drove her to worry about everyone and everything.
"Are you okay?" Kalena said crouching down in front of the boy. "Are you hurt? Can I call someone to help you?"
Kalena set Rhydion down by her side. Her face was painted with worry. She had seen kids like him before. Hurt and scared.

Dusk
Dusk pulled himself more inward as the woman approached, wincing as he bent his knee and the bandage on it pinched his skin. He nodded and then shook his head to answer her questions when she asked them, as Dusk knew it was good manners to respond to people when they speak to you.
"I...I'm okay. I was...playing. Yes."
He lied, badly.

Skutt
The first thing that caught her eye was a small, purple boy. Skutt stared, but only for a moment. She had, after all, seen stranger things on Gaia. The next thing she saw was a woman with a lanturn, similar to her own. This relieved her immensely. Hopefully the woman knew more than she did about the lanturns, which was likely given Skutt's complete ignorance on the subject.
"Hi!" she called out warmly, wondering if she was interrupting anything. The woman was kneeling over the small boy with a look of concern on her face. Placing her own lanturn carefully next to the other, Skutt knelt as well. "So...how's it going?" Making conversation was awkward for her, and the strange quality of the boy did not make things easier. She wondered if he was human.

Kalena
Kalena eyed Dusk wearliy. She had heard that line plenty enough in her own school to know when someone was telling the truth or not. She tried forcing a conving smile across her face as she rose slowly.
"Yes, I believe that," she said half-scoldingly and half-worried. "I'm not going to hurt you, I promise."
Looking to the girl who arrived, suddenly, Kalena introduced herself.
"My name's Kalena Scope. I'm a high school teacher. This is Rhydion," she said picking her lanturn up from the floor. "Would you like to sit and talk for a while?"

Dusk
Dusk watched both women with his cobalt blue eyes, sitting himself up after he had heard one of the names. His hood fell from atop his head, finally giving his sheep ears a chance to pop out and flit around.
The readily did so once they were free, taking in more sounds now that they were no longer muffled. It seemed to be snowing outside, as he could hear the sounds of footsteps crunching on something.
"...Thank you."
Dusk wasn't very good at conversation either. He used to be, but now that he was older things were harder for him to do. Plus he was growing more and more afraid as each day passed, so it was a no-win situation.

Skutt
Skutt wondered if Kalena was inviting her to sit and talk, or the strange boy before them. She flinched as a pair of goat-ears appeared, and tried not to stare again.
"My name's Skutt, and this is Kanika," she said politely, smiling a little. "Rhydion is a lanturn like mine, isn't she? I mean, I assume it's a she," she added a little sheepishly, blushing slightly. How did one determine a lanturn's gender? She didn't ponder this for long, instead gesturing to a large, comfortable-looking sofa. "Shall we all sit down?"
Kanika beamed a greeting at the other lanturn, far less reserved than her human guardian's introduction had been.

Kalena
Kalena smiled seeing Dusk's ears. His pale purple skin, blue eyes, and animal ears hinted to her that, he too, was a manifested spirit. Offering her hand to Dusk, she addressed them
"There's a comfortable couch inside. How about the three of us head inside and take over that comfortable couch," she said pointing in the window with her other hand. "What's you name, young man? It's nice to meet you, Skutt & Kanika."
Kalena eyebrow arched at the assumption that Rhydion was a girl. She would have to get used to hearing it, as Rhydion was a soul encased in a mangenta colored lanturn. Remembering back to her conversation with Hakari and Sinn, Kalena knew that Rhydion would have a tough road ahead of him.
"Like everything in the world, Skutt, things are not always what they seem," Kalena mused, using her teacher voice. "His name is Rhydion. I hope eventually, he, Kanika, and our new friend here will become friends.

Dusk
Dusk's ears flitted at the sounds of the snow and the chatter of the two women. It was fun how one could move one way while the other stayed put, allowing the maximum of information gathering. They all had names that he caught, and when asked for his own he didn't know if he should really answer.
After all, getting someone's name was the first step in a relationship and lord knows Dusk was weary of those.
"My....my kachan calls me Dusk."
He held up his own lantern, one emitting a purple light that was the same shade as his skin. It sent a message back to the non-formed lanterns, a way of greeting from an elder of sorts. He turned for a moment to get something from behind, revealing his cute little sheep tail that wagged in the cold.
