This is a private role play between Huang-Fu [Nyxtsuki Moon] and Sarangerel [Oooka]

Setting

Huang takes Sara out to run some errands and the two get to know each other a little better.
PostPosted: Mon May 02, 2011 7:54 am

It had been a strange time, Sara had come face to face with Huang's romantic interest yet the fact still remained secret. This was mainly for two reasons for this, firstly because she was really shy and did not feel comfortable enough in telling him and two because she did not want him to feel like he was not going his job right ---- after all the Noble got such easy access to her and he was meant to be keeping them away. She had been able to quite quickly pick up the fact Huang and his family did not see eye to eye and she did not want to cause him any trouble. She did believe that Kyung had a genuine affection for him so she saw no reason why she should not believe his words, to be honest she wished she was not in such a position because she had no idea how to handle it.

Today she was meant to be going out on errands with the Legion Fighter, something she was looking forward to. She had spent a lot of time around Huang - however she did not spend much time with him one on one. It would give her a chance to get to know him more and maybe she would find the courage to ask him about the Noble soul conduit. If nothing else it was a day out, chance to spread her legs and break from her never ending studies.

For now she was in her room, combing through her hair with a brush and waiting to be collected by her guardian. She wondered where she they were heading, or what they would be doing. There was something exciting about the idea of running errands and it would make her feel a lot better about staying here - it would prove she was not completely useless. The family had been nothing but kind to her and she felt in their debt, even though she did some chores and tried to stay as out of the way as possible she still felt like she should be doing more to show her gratitude.

Huang's legs were starting to fall asleep. He had been in the kneel sitting position in front of his family for the last 4 hours since he rose from his slumber. His mother's voice was radiating with joy over the new fiances that had come in from the loyal supporters of the Lee's Legions and was preparing the vital members for the errands, which Huang knew resulted in shopping for supplies, by giving them huge list of shops and people to visit. He was glad so far his list was the shortest and grateful that due to him guarding Sara, the little conduit gave him less errand duty then his past self. He could feel his sister and 2nd older brother's hateful stares at the base of his spine and up, like little needles meant to annoy and gain attention. He ignored them and praised the Goddess that they had the most errands and would take them on a week long venture through the towns.

Once their meeting had ended, Huang had gotten up to stretch, check in with Xiao before heading to his room and preparing for the day. He wanted to make sure he had anything necessary for small trip to the artist alley, including extra coins for Sara, in case she wanted anything. In the short time he had been guarding her, Huang had found that he truly enjoyed her company. While they had yet to talk one on one, he enjoyed having someone who was sincere in her behavior. His stoic expression did nothing though to show his emotions as he packed the last of his gear and headed to Sara's room.

"Lady Sara!"
Huang called out as he neared her room, knocking gently before sliding the door open to see the girl, "If you are prepared and groomed, We can begin running errands." Huang stared at her with a blank face before coming in close, "Also, we will be visiting the Marketplace and Artist Alley's, So if there is a shop or item you wish to have let me know. It will be our treat for helping us with all the shopping today." Huang gave her a small smile before exiting the room and estate, sure that Sara would be right behind him. The sun was shining bright, such was a perfect day for Errands and he was sure Sara would enjoy the sun and freedom away from the Estate. he needed to remind himself that he would take the girl out on more walks, perhaps to the Cherry hill or even to the water front. He could even take her to meet Kade, his old mentor.,

Sara followed on after him, quickly putting down the brush and making her exit so to not hold them up. Artist Alley's? She wondered to herself, a flash of green coming across her mind and then fading. Cias said his family traded in glass, maybe she would see his shop in such a place. It had been so long since she saw him - maybe he did not remember her however if she did see his residence she would certainly go and visit him in the future, when she was back home. She doubted Huang would like to stop for her to catch up with old friend. She would rather not make a fuss so she remained silent - but made a mental note to be vigilant.

It took her a moment to process what he was saying but when she did she blushed slightly and shook her head. "Oh, no thank you - I do not need anything in return - it is me who is in your debt Huang. T-thank-you for offering though, you are too nice to me." She smiled, she was never really one to feel comfortable accepting gifts or complements, not when they could be better spent on someone more deserving. She looked ahead with a small smile, catching up to walk to the side of the fighter. "It is enough of a treat to be out and about again, the weather has certainly blessed us lately." She nodded closing her eyes and feeling the warm rays on her tanned skin.

Her long teal hair bounced behind her as she walked, pale eyes on the path ahead. Her lungs appreciating and taking in the fresh air, spring was here, she would have to visit Cherry Blossom Hill, maybe Master Jianyu was right and the flowers would be in bloom now... she smiled, so many named, so many memories maybe Lunaria had over time become her home. She was no longer a stranger or a outsider but a young student who was close to graduation, close to making a life for herself. It was comforting. The only thing that still uneased her was the conflict in the city... and just like that Kyung was in her head again. She wanted to believe his claims were true, that love could bloom between a Noble and a Legionaire in this darkness. That life went on....

"How are you anyway? - we have not had the chance to talk much lately. She sent a gentle smile in his direction - she had grown used to having him around and had grown fond of his company. He was a gentle well spoken man, someone she could look up to like a older brother.

"I am fine Priestess, it is a beautiful day for once for errands." Huang said curtly before relaxing with Sara and sighing, he had always given the girl short replies, usually tart if not brief moments of talk to each other. "Sorry Lady Sara." he said once before scratching his chin in thought of what to talk about. "This is true, I am not the best conversationalist." He chuckled as his mind gripped at what he could talk about with the young priestess. His mind searched for a good route to conversation when he could feel a click inside his head and he smiled deviously.

"Ah Priestess, since our ride will be long and since I have not told you much about myself and know much about you, why don't we play a...game of sorts?" Huang thought of the question game, Kade had taught him the question game to develop the Liar's pavilion in Huang's head. The liar's pavilion was a place where Huang retreated to in his head when getting tortured or interrogated by enemy priest/soul conduits. It was the ultimate defense against spilling any truth or facts of his missions or family. Bad thing is, it didn't stop torture from happening. Pushing the obvious negative reasoning behind the game away he smiled at the priestess. "The idea is to ask questions, I will answer any and all of them to the most absolute truth I can, unless it is unnecessary for you to know what the answer to the question is. You have three strike, if you ask a question I will not answer, that is a strike. If after three strikes are asked, then we stop the game." Huang nodded his head at her as the headed out of the estate, towards the stables where the horses were penned. "First though, let us collect our horses and you can begin your questioning on the ride into town." Huang smiled at her again.

He had two strong Thoroughbred horses picked out for their trip, both of them had empty saddle bags besides a small pocket that kept some stored dried foods and a canteen of water, in case either of them wanted to stop and snack. He nodded his head at the stable boy who handed over the reins of both horses before disappearing. The horse Huang had picked out for Sara was a little mare, with a brown coat that shined like amber. Attached to her was a small cart that he would place any goods that they would buy. His own horse was a large black stallion, a white streak across his forehead as he pawed at the ground impatiently. "I would like you to meet Starwright." Huang said as he pointed to the mare, "She will be yours to ride, do you ride Little Priestess?" Huang cocked his head, "If not, we will still take her and you can sit upon Rayan here with me." Huang patted his large stallion before waiting for the girl's reply.

"There is nothing to apologise for." She smiled, she knew he was trying and that alone had won him her respect. She was not much of a talker either however she felt more comfortable around him now and the words came easier. Her eyes lit up at the talk of a game as he explained the rules she began to like the idea more and more."A game? That would be wonderful. I would love to play." It was simple enough to understand and it would be a good way to break the ice between them a little. No matter what Huang has said when they met, she felt like she could call him a friend.

It was then that Sara saw the horses and heard that they would be riding. "Huang, she is so beautiful." Even though she said his name she was not directing the comment towards him, she said it openly, enchanted she approached the creature and stroked her fingers through the mares mane. She looked at him and shook her head with a look of joy on her face. "I can ride on my own, thank you for the offer though." She bowed her head and lifted up her leg pulling herself up and placing herself on the saddle. She was more used to riding like a man however since she was wearing a dress side saddle would have to do - maybe it was a good thing, if given the chance she would have gone faster then Huang would of been comfortable with. He was very protective and no doubt would have thought that she would have fallen off the mare. She grabbed the reins and stroked the mares head once more, ticking her behind the ears. It was love at first sight.

"I love to ride, on the farm back home we used horses a lot. Though it has been a while since I was last on one." Yet she felt as comfortable on the back of the beast like she had ever been, it all came back to her the instant she sat on the saddle. She waited for her Guardian to take the lead, her mind drifting back to the game at hand. "Okay well... first question. Erm..." She wanted to ask him about the handsome man that came looking for him, his supposed romantic interest however maybe that was something she would ask a little later on in the game. She did not know what to ask at first but soon something came to mind. "Well lets start with something easy. If you could relive any moment of your life again what would it be?" Everyone had those moments where they wished it would last forever no matter how stupid or insignificant other people might view it. She did not want to ask something which might get her a strike straight away so for now she would keep it easy and sweet until her own questions got a little more challenging.

"I am glad you are pleased." Huang smiled at her, the mare was one of his favorites and had yet to let him down. His smiled widened in pleasured surprise as Sara swiftly mounted her horse and he gave her a nod of approval. "That makes it much easier then, I am a little a surprised as I didn't know you could ride." Huang smiled again and thought of all that he knew, even the smallest of details could still escape the master assassin.

"Ah, a moment to relive? I think it would be the day that I met Master Jianyu."
Huang smiled at the day, well more of a week that he had first met his master. "I was young, a academy student with no emotion and deeply angered at the world and myself, though I bottled it inside me." Huang looked over his shoulder at Sara as he clambered on his mountain and then spurring it into movement into town, a long ride but with how much time they had to pass, he was sure it would be an easy ride. "I met Jianyu training by myself in the woods. Turns out my training was incomplete, and Jianyu who was a fighter at the time much like myself took me to his home to train." Huang could see the moments that led to him and Jianyu's great training and then to a great friendship between the two. He could smile fondly as he remember that he had a childlike crush on his master at the time, it was awkward yet sweet to remember.

"Haha, I forget how funny it is too look on it now." He smiled broadly at Sara before quieting down, "But back to the question, it had been a funny time and Jianyu was the one who taught me to show emotions, to let go of pain and to be myself. If not for him, I would be nothing more then a emotionless tool in my household, no friends and no one to love." Huang sighed as spurred the horse on. "You still have three strikes then Sara, continue?...." He quieted so she could ask another question.

"My parents say I have farmers blood in me. I have been riding since I was little, I also know how to her cattle, milk cows and goats. Me and Mother used to have to help birth the baby animals and Father taught me how to plan crops and make them grow. They said that a young lady needs to lean what hard work is form a early age, especially one who is not born with money." Though she had to admit now she had money life was not exactly easier. She was working so hard in her studies she felt tired all the time. Mental strain matched physical strain and she knew both, she wondered how her family were doing on the farm and what her life would be like if she was still with them.

Sara looked at him and tilted her head as he spoke. Looks like Lunaria was not as large as she first thought. She smiled and nodded before explaining the reason for her surprised look. "Master Jianyu? You mean Captain Jianyu, with the long brown hair and the markings under his eyes. I have met this man, under the Cherry Tree. We talked about our dreams and ambitions. I can see how he helped you, he is such a soothing and kind man. He told me not to be afraid and I was not."

"Do you have someone to love now Huang? Someone to love you back?" She asked, she did not mean to ask however the conversation just lead on to it. When Huang started to talk about love.. okay maybe not but since she was so nervous about it she needed to ask. She looked at him and then looked to the side as if to shield herself away from him. She did not know where the line was with Huang, though at the same time she knew he would not like her keeping secrets form him. Especially when it was about him, it was almost like lying. "I do not mean to pry but I hate keeping secrets and something happened to maybe suggest it.... I mean I have wanted to ask you for a while but I did not want you to be mad with me. I did not mean to get involved... I mean..."

"A good trait to learn while your young Lady Sara. Since its the means of more conventional method of transportation." He looked over at her and cocked his head, "Ah, so not only the blood but the experience with farming as well." he quieted as he thought of what she said and sighed, "I was always told that Ladies are to learn to be good wives for husbands, to make the strongest political relationship with their partner to further their families lives. It seems that the views here are very different...." Huang took a sharp look away as he thought of his sister, she hadn't fallen into the plan like most of the noble causes and had worked from a early age. "and perhaps our traditions do not stray far either." He mumbled more to himself then to anyone.

"Ah yes Jianyu! He is my master." Huang nodded his head in eager agreement at Sara's words, for a moment it looked like he reverted to his younger academy student days, though with the dopey expression that he usually carried whenever someone spoke good of his mentor. "He is indeed a great talker and listerner. A fantastic fighter and nothing short of one of my closest friends. We have been through a bit much but we always pull through." Huang thumped his heart in respect to his master.

"Someone to love you say?" Huang turned in the horses seat to stare at her. It wasn't like he hid...no he did. If anyone in his family knew of his love, one that was a true Romeo and Juliet, he would be killed and war would be wagged specifically on Kyung's family. Something he didn't want for his love at all. He kept his horse at a steady trot as he mulled over telling her, before she starting stuttering. "Pry? Something happen?" His eye's widened as he looked at Sara, "Did someone threaten you? What happened Sara?" he turned his horse to ride next to her.

(( sorry if there is a mass of mistakes, did this at college were there is no spell check, damn macs. Anyway I will check it over when I get home!))

Sara could have talked about her village, she could have went on talking about Jianyu, however she realised there was a more important matter at hand she shook her head, he was getting the wrong idea already. "No, no nothing like that. I think he was more scared of me than I was of him. Spirits know why, I would probably end up hurting myself if I ever tried to attack anyone else." The person she had met was very jumpy and for some reason thought she was going to trap him or something. Clearly he did not know much about her, Sara would never hurt someone, not when they have done nothing wrong but he would not listen to her.

She thought for a moment, in truth she did not know where to begin so she thought it best to start from the top and make sure to mention everything, not leaving a single detail out. "It was after I had taken a bath, I decided to get some air and sit on the decking outside my room. I heard some noises in the bushes and asked who was there, then this women came out, well I thought she was a women. She was dressed as a servant and said her name was Mura so I guessed she was just tending to the plants." Maybe it was a little foolish to jump to those kind on conclusions, if he had been sent to kill her she would have played right into his hands, but he gave her no reason to suspect anything she often saw servants around the house which she did not recognise and that never rose a alarm.

"We talked for a while me and Mura, she kept asking me where you were. I invited her in, said that we could wait for you together because you would not be long. Though the more I looked at Mura, the more something did not seem right. I turned out that Mura was a man, not just a man but a Noble. Well after all the stories you said that they would send someone I threatened to scream if he came near me." Maybe that was a little harsh, though what was she meant to do? She thought he was a assassin - it might have scared him but at the same time he should not have been hiding, more so he should not have lied to her. If he had just told her why he was there things would have gone by a lot smoother. Why was there no trust in people anymore?

She took a deep breathe and continued, this was the hard part. "He said his name was Kyung then, he said he knew you and if I screamed... well you know what would have happened to him. In the end he told me to give you something but I did not want to take it. I tried to calm him down and let me find you, I swear but he was having none of it. In the end all I could do was watch him run away. The thing he wanted me to give you people in my village give them out when you want to show someone you love them. I did not know if he was telling the truth or just trying to get away. I should have told you sooner but I have not been able to get you on your own and if what he said was true I did not want to get you into any trouble. I am sorry" She did not even know why she was sorry anymore, she just did not want him to be mad with her, she held onto the reins tight and looked to the ground which was steadily passing them by waiting for a reply from her Guardian.

Huang listened intently as Sara described the situation and did his best not to chuckle at his lover. More than anything, he was clearly amused by what had transcended. Though his face was stoic, like unmoving marble. Inside he dying of laughter. Even more so when Sara had said that she had thought Kyung was a assassin. Ahhhhh, Poor Kyung. He smiled wistfully before relaxing, glad that no threat had come to Sara in his care.

"That seems to be interesting meeting of sorts Lady Sara." Huang choked on a laugh, turning it into a cough before deciding wisely to just tell her the truth, after all she wasn't the first and only person to know about Kyung. Most of the servants, loyal to Huang knew of his forbidden love and even supported it. He had caught many of the maids speaking of it like a destined change in the family for the better. When a Legion, that of a Noble Assassination Legion of a Powerful Legion family fell for that of a Noble, it was a sign that there was peace coming soon. Huang didn't know if that was true but, after all he changing his views of nobles completely. Once he burned with hate for them, now he was slowly leaning towards indifference save for the few that he had no choice to kill.

"Kyung is in fact my lover." Huang said proudly and smiled at Sara, pleased to talk of it openly. "I am sorry I never informed you, though I never thought he would attempt to see me by sneaking into the estate under a disguise. I for one, find it odd of his dedication. Then again, I have more freedom to sneak into his estate." Huang nodded before bring their horses into a steady trot. "Kyung and I met by a cherry tree and fell into a love hate relationship. it started out hate, Legion to Noble, and then Love to hate: Me to Kyung and finally we have come to a rocky middle of our love. I hope to gain his affection soon but of course that I am told takes time. And with him being noble, It makes it harder for us to meet as we please. I have one other love besides Kyung, She was noble as well and I botched our relationship so that it twisted into hate and nothing more. I wish not to do the same with Kyung"

He looked over her startled at what she described as the charm and excitingly put that information aside in his brain. When the time came, Kyung would give him that charm and maybe much more. "You still have many questions to ask Little Sara." He nodded, "Don't fret about Kyung. He is as harmless as a fly." except for when Kyung talked, sometimes his words could feeling like a dozen needles piercing the skin at one time. "Ah, we're nearing the Marketplace." He pointed past the horizon to the shadowed figures of buildings that compiled the market of Lunaria. He could smell faintly the foods and hear light the sound of a bustling city.

"Interesting is one way to put it, I am sure if I put the manuscript forward to be published people would come from far and wide to see the drama unfold." She smiled, seeing a youthful look in the eyes of her guardian for a change, even though he tried to hide it she noticed the small laugh which escaped his lips. Thinking about it, that was probably the first time she had heard him laugh and she resisted the urge to tell him not to hide it. Everyone warmed up to people in their own time and even though she did constantly try and bring him out of his shell she knew when he was ready to open his heart to her, he would. She held onto the reins tightly and her hair bounced slightly with the movements of her mare, in the short time she had been on her back Sara had fallen in love with the little darling. She shook her head at him and in her soft voice reassured him. "I can understand why you did not tell me." She stated, seeing no reason why he should have. He did not know about her own relationships after all.

She looked around for a moment, like she expected the trees to have grown ears. She did not really talk about such things out in the open, never with a fellow Legionaire besides Yue. "I do not think I should be talking about such things, the temple masters would scold me if they heard me but I have to admit even though my loyalties are to the Emperor for all he has provided me I chose to take no part in the war. At the end of the day when a man comes to you dying it does not matter what side he is on. My duty as a Conduit means I must help him, we are taught that all life is sacred." She nodded it was her own opinion, growing up outside the city she did not know what all the fighting was about and did not feel as passionately about the war as she people who grew up with all these events happening around them.

"So your secret is safe with me my Guardian. I am happy that you have someone that you share such a bond with." In times of pain and conflict true love was rare and should be appreciated no matter what form it was in. Maybe one day when she was older she would find someone who she could share such a bond with. Though she had more important things that her energy needed to be focused on at the moment, like graduating. Though thinking about the boy with orange eyes brought a small blush to her cheeks. She wanted to meet him again... but she did not know what she would say to him. How she would act... if he would even remember her.

She put the facts that he was telling her into the story, her eyes widening slightly. "My, the more I learn the more this is starting to sound like play. In exchange for my silence I might have to turn this into a work of theatrical art. I can see it lining my pockets for a very healthy retirement." She joked, tilting her head to the side with a small smile before her eyes were drawn forward, the marketplace approaching. "It seems that we are, though I think I have asked enough questions for the time being the one I wanted to get off my chest is gone and a great weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. It is your turn to ask my guardian, though I doubt you will find my answers as interesting as the ones you have given me." She stated, she did not know what else to ask him for now. She could ask about the coldness that some of the female members of his house radiated however she decided against it, maybe that was even more personal than his love life. In truth his sister scared her... she seemed so mean.

Huang laughed again, truly at ease with the girl now. How long had it been? He was growing so accustomed to laughing now that it seemed almost unnatural to. And even so, Here he was sharing his self that was not seen to most. His facade of tough, and aloofness disappeared with her as he enjoyed the innocent company she brought. Somewhere deep in him, it clicked that she was one of the ones he would try his hardest to protect. She had made her way to the same faith as Jianyu, Kyung, and Even SiMa Li. Those he respected and chose to be one he would give his life for. He smiled at her jokes and then nodded.

"You a good priestess, Lady Sara."
Huang nodded at her thinking. If it was him though, the intent and end result would be much different. He didn't pride himself in taking out a injured Lunarian, but one less noble meant reaching the highest ideals of the emperor and stopping another event like he had with his Best friend of youth. He shook his head, he didn't want their fun to be ruined.

"Thank you, It was a long time coming and a Long time going. I think we will be fine." He smiled at her before trotting his horse into the marketplace. His eyes widened at her joke before snickering. "Yes your pockets would be full, Lunarians would sing about the Love of the past Noble and Legionnaire. Maybe one day they will look at it as a sign of change, or a sign of destruction. We will never know." He mused before waving it away. "Just don't use names Sara and I think you'd be fine." He laughed again.

"I have no questions that aren't already answered Dear Sara." He smiled at her as he dropped from the horse and then going over to hers to lift her down. "It is time to run our errands. Perhaps we should start with a food stall for a snack?" He smiled, patting her head as he unloaded the money into his pouch and tied it to his waist. He shielded his eyes from the sun as he tied the horses and cart to a well known stand to be taken care of and offered his arm to Sara, "Well, Are you hungry? Or should we just start with the errands first?"

"I hope so Huang, with the world how it is we need one or two good healers, people to try and preach peace to ones who will not listen. I am not foolish Huang, I know what state the city is in but... I am afraid if I do not keep faith in the spirits and the heart of man I would not be able to cope." She stated as he helped her down off of the horse letting his arms take her, when she landed on the ground she dusted herself off and whispered a goodbye to the beautiful mare, giving her one last stoke and gentle kiss before turning to him. She nodded her head and went to take his arm, holding onto him she let her eyes wonder around the market, it seemed to be a place which she visited frequently for whatever reason. Though admittedly she had never really bought anything from it besides fish, she was not that big on shopping... unless it was with the intention of dressing up or buying presents for others.

She looked up at him with her pale eyes laughing a little with him. "I will make sure to split the profits with you, though picking a actor which is able to capture your both your handsome face and your sweet disposition would be quite difficult." She stated with a small smile before twiddling a strand of her long dark hair around a finger, Hua had been telling her it was growing wild and needed cutting however Sara could not think of anything which she would hate more. She loved her hair long as was well intending for it to grow down to her ankles before she reached the grave.

"We will have time to relax after we have run our errands. They should not take us long." She nodded, when she was little her parents had always made her do her chores before she was allowed to go out and play with the animals and that dedication to work had stayed with her until now. "So lead the way, my prince." In all honesty she did not know why she called him that, however for a moment he appeared to her like a character out of a fairy tale, a young man sent to protect a fair maiden who could not take care of herself, maybe it was because his lover had told her he had connections to the Emperor or maybe it was because they had been talking about him like he was a character from a play. Either way the name seemed right.

He didn't comment about her ideals, such was the fact that in the war they were in. She was in fact, the best of the priest he did know, focusing more on helping everyone than that of their own legions. It was well, really how a priestess should feel. Huang was a fighter though and his loyalty would always stay true to that of the Legions. Again, he wouldn't hesitate to cut down a noble.

"That would be nice." He joked about the profits before waving his hand at her compliments, "I don't know what your talking about." He looked a little flushed by her words and tried not to dwell on them. Being that he didn't think he was kind for one, nor handsome at the same time, her words would continue to play in his mind.

"No Errands shouldn't"
He patted her hand before stopping at many of the stands and talking to the customers. He paid no mind to her joking Prince comment, shoving it off as another of her silliness. He was quick as he hit stand after stand. One he stopped at for Sara with supplies mostly aimed at the Healers community.

"I promised you a gift today though, plus we should get you some food." Huang smiled at her as he continued to hold her hand, using his other to wave at the stands, "Let's find your gift first and then we'll head to the food carts and back to the house." He smiled again at her.
