Lysia:
A father.. he was a father to two little fillies... That had been seriously unexpected. As he'd promised Masika, he was returning to tell the herd leader of his foals and that they and their mother would be staying close by where both he and Masika could be apart of their lives. He was happy yet.. perplexed about it all the same.. how could he not have known? Sure she wanted to wait till both little ones were ready to travel before seeking him out and telling him.. but.. why.. why hadn't she told him when she knew she was expecting them?? Why did she wait this long? The little brown filly had wanted to go with him but with the winter's events.. having a foal to protect when the chance of a kalona showing up again wasn't what he wanted to have to face.. no she'd have to wait till he returned from the herd to escort both foals and mother back that way everyone was kept safe. Another thought at mind.. Ali.. He'd have to tell his best friend about this, let her meet them if possible.
Rini :
Ali had been in a decent mood, she'd recently made friend's with Briallan, one of Shilo's herd mates. She'd managed to pluck up her courage to find him, but once again it was wavering, he'd been gone for some time, and she'd...well she wasn't exactly the most delicate mare, she landed softly in a clearing and sighed loudly, who the hell was she to even think about maybe having a relationship, wasn't best friends enough? Or was it only in her head, or maybe just maybe there was a chance? She was pacing as she argued with herself mentally, deciding finally there was no other way than to tell him about her feelings and ask him about his. She huffed a bit, then nodded and turned around, stretching her wings to take flight again and see if she could find him.
Lysia:
He left the trees and plodded through the more open areas his mind more focused on what was at hand now... He'd have to find Ali after speaking to Sho.. that's what he'd do... Surely Masika, Merte and Idonea could wait for him a little longer right? He stopped out in a grassy patch and let out a deep sigh. This was not going to be such an easy task. He and Masika had discussed what to do about the foals.. but.. where did that leave them? He liked her.. but not in the way that one adored their mated love... no she was cuddly and fluffy like he but something.. just hadn't click past that one night they needed one another to kep warm.. not past a friendly level at least... but.. For his daughter, he wasn't about to run. No he wouldn't leave them as he'd been left by his father so many years ago. No, even if it was just to raise his daughters to adult hood, he's stay there to guide them both. After they were grown, he'd have to re-evaluate the situation.
Rini :
Alinea sighed as she passed over a small break in the tree line, and spotted the big gray doofus. Her wings twitched nervously, as did the rest of her, and then she dove down to land near him. He looked like he might be in a hurry, and that seemed, odd. Her head tilted as she landed, and then...well, no time better than the presant, right? "Shilo!" She shouted his name in greeting, trying to act natural, or as natural as she could, "Are you in a hurry, friend?" She smiled warmly as she bounded to catch up with his marginally longer strides.
Lysia:
He smiled as he heard Ali's voice and waited for her to catch up to him. "You could say that.. I'm trying to catch Shoshana while she does her rounds I have something I need to discuss with her." It was good to see her really it was even if what was on his mind had weighed heavily. "Well.. I have a bit of time still And i Was planning on fining you after my talk but since you're here.. I have something I need to discuss with you my friend.." No time like the present to explain what had happened and as a friend he was hoping she could shed some extra light, help him to feel a bit more at ease with this new discovery..
Rini :
Alinea's heart fluttered a bit, then she mentally smacked herself, what was she getting all flustered for? No point, "Really? What's up?" She was a bit worried since he had something to discuss with his herd leader, maybe he was leaving, maybe he was demoted...or maybe...She felt herself sink just a bit, but she didn't let it show in her face as she waited for him to discuss what he needed to discuss.
Lysia:
"Well.. you see.." He thought how to explain things and figured the best way was the first straight forward approach. "I find myself as the father of two fillies.... It wasn't planned and the mother wants to stay near by so that we both can be in our foals lives.. I was on my way back to let the herd leader know of what was going on. I'm pretty sure though that she has no intentions of staying after the foals have grown up.. Really I don't know how to take it.. it was pretty much all laid on me all at once... she never said anything till... now... but.. I'm a father all the same and after how my father left.. I'm not abandoning them..." He still looked rather perplexed with how he'd found out about being a father, like.. something just was.. odd.. he didn't begrudge his foals.. or hate them.. he actually felt a fatherly sort of love towards them it was just his lack of emotions beyond friendship towards the mother that had him feeling so... awkward about this all. Was he really just a slug of a male?
Rini :
She blinked, glowing yellow pupils shifted oddly, "So..you had a fling, knocked up the mare unintentionally, and just now found out you're a father." Alinea's heart sank a bit, but she kept her face impassive, she had to be one of the guys for now, "You seem a bit, off put by something though?" She could tell it wasn't a mare he spoke of with love in his eyes, she'd known that look far too often, "Are you in love with the mother of your children, or is it too soon to tell?" She knocked him a bit with a wing, a friendly gesture from her, "I mean, kids all fair and good, and sticking together till the little-uns are grown, but if there's no love for the mare you may want to think on what that'll be like till they're grown." In some ways she was fishing, in others she was being a helpful friend, at least as much as she could be until she couldn't stand it any longer.
lysia:
Shilo gave a heavy sigh. You know how my father left Ali.. I couldn't bear it to just leave them behind. She's a nice enough mare.. but really.. She's the kind I'd much rather have as a friend sure she's the mother of my Daughters.. but really if there's no spark beyond friendship than what more can a mare ask? I'm willing to be around to help raise them and I'm sure that's all she wants After all she came back to let me know it's the least I can to.. She could have just hid them away and left me in the dark. When we had our discussion about what to do about them, she didn't even look like she was interested in trying to get that 'friendly' with me.. Like it had been just what it was.. a moment that resulted in foals, nothing more.." He actually draped his large head over her back and gave her a squeeze like a hug. " I feel cheap.. like a rogue stallion spreading his seed nilly willy without consequences." Really as soon as he'd said those words he felt ill, like something didn't taste right in his mouth. "I had so wanted to wait.. to find the one who'd be through it all on that emotional level.. not just the physical things.." Lifting his head he looked at her. "Boy don't I sound like a fretting mare.." He attempted to lighten his mood with a failed joke.
Rini:
Her instant reaction was to tense when he leaned over her, she curbed it before she even reacted, "Yeah, you do kind of sound like a filly worrying over her first time fling. It's not a big deal." She turned her head and nosed his ear, "Look, you can't be like your dad, I'm fairly sure he knew you were born, and he still refused to do anything other than fly off to wherever and bang the next mare. You're sticking with it, and helping with you oops. And it took forever for her to come and tell you, so even if you didn't know about it, it wasn't your fault. Sometimes mares are finicky, and sometimes they're as bad about dealing with their emotions as any strong stallion can be." She smiled a bit though she wanted in some ways to boot him in his thick skull, "Look, raise your fillies, and you may end up caring for her, or you may find someone else to care for, who'll be your match." Alinea shrugged a little, "You can only see where time goes, right?" She sighed a bit, good thing she hadn't mentioned anything about what she wanted to tell him, right now...he didn't need to think about his best friend being in love with him, he needed to focus on raising his kids.
Lysia:
He gave a small nod. " I guess you're right.. But it's not like my father left as I was born.. He left when I was the age my girls are now.. But.. I guess you're still right.. All I can do is raise my girls and see what pans out for my future.." He offered her more of his usual goofy smile and a warm chuckle. "Thanks Ali.. I don't know how much more this would have eaten at me without you here to talk it over with."
