(( Tis private RP for Kimaji and Maji yo. :3 Swaii might join too, gotta ask Dusteh. xD

I need to stop hoarding this place with threads. 8D; ))

The grey cub had wandered off once again, distractedly chasing a mouse along the river. It was the sae river that led to the lake near themountain she and Swaii lived, but the cub had failed to notice that this wasen't the lake, rather the river. Wich was probably why she'd ventured this far. Only did she notice, when the mouse escaped her compleetly. The cub sat, looking around. The lake.. Wasen't normal. It wasen't all fat-- no, it was thin... er. She'd never gone this far without Swaii! And and.. Wich was the way back? The river looked the exact same from both sides! Unfortunatly, Kimaji had spun around a bit, trying to find the mouse after it had 'vanished'. She coulden't remember wich way she was heading for thanks to that, and remained still.

Maybe.. Swaii would come find her! Surely he'd wake up some tiem and.. He'd save her! Right..? "Anyone theere? " The cub called, hoping that some other lion was around, the homever might help her! She attempted to climb the nearest tree; Lions weren't keen climbers, but they could climb.. A little bit. But, of course, the cub failed. Kimaji haden't learned that 'when your lost, stay put' thing, so she started to wander, the rong way wich she'd like to go. Surely there would be some lions around-- right?

User Image Maji had woken early that morning, his sleep once more disturbed by images of her... the sleek silvery form rubbing against his passionately, her beautiful eyes gazing into his, nothing but love for him... only him. Her knight, her prince... her king. Quite suddenly the landscape behind her became one only seen in nightmares, twisted, deformed trees with limbs like claws and eyes glaring at them all around. Her sleek form became thicker, her eyes widened with fear for him- her hunter, her bane, her foe... She turned and ran, the more he called out for her the faster she ran and the faster the blackness closed around her.

With a cry he roused himself in his personal cave, his chest heaving from the run he had taken only in his sleep, heart racing so fast that it pounded at his ears. Only a dream... only a dream... , he re-assured himself as he got to his paws, slowly making his way to the small pool in the center of his room to give himself a look over. His mane was matted down from the night's sleep, tossing and turning had made it wild. He took the time to groom himself to the state that he was expected to keep, running a paw along the mane drifting to his chest to insure that it had been groomed well before making his way quietly from the caves as not to wake the others.

His powerful, sleek form moved like silk down the cliffs that guarded and suspended their hide-away from the ground, padding his way along the river side as he did every morning. He took a moment to shake out his mane, ridding himself of the last of it's bedded nature in the crisp early morning air. The morning birds were a distraction enough from his thoughts, if anyone asked he was patrolling as always. Making sure the stray rouge who had hurt Laana was no where near their lands.

A small, unexpected voice broke the routene sounds of the morning. A cry for help? Maji halted a moment, his ears rotating from the silvery mane in the direction of the cry, "I'm here." He said, bounding gracefully towards the sound.

It didn't take long for him to happen upon the cub, she was easy to spot amongst the grass. He froze in place, his eyes widening as he beheld her... she was colored like one of them, patterned like one of them... could she be one of his children come to find him? No... couldn't be. Ciyari would bring them far away... but there was always hope.

He smiled softly, slowly moving towards her as not to startle her, "Well you're a new face... is something the matter?"

The cub stops, looking around curiously. Her ears had managed to cach a sound-- someone had heard her! Maybe it was even Swaii? Her tail swung around, and her eyes didn't move to differently, looking around to try and find someone. But when he did show up, she was rather startled: As big as Swaii, big fluffy mane, but not Swaii! His darker colored fur also made his mane look a little bigger than it was-- Swaii was the only she'd met that had one, with made the cub think he was unique. But this guy also did.. Then Swaii wasen't the only one?

Stubling back onto haunches, blue eyes exained the large male, other than a mane, he also had different colors, even though not as.. Odd? As a few of the others she'd met. He didn't have the all bloched one of that cheetah she'd met, nor did he have the bright colors of Uumikaji. He didn't have a mask like Kiburi did, nor the rings on her tail.

Though, soon she realizes he spoke, and gave a small nod, though still rather stunned by his mane-- when she got back to Swaii, she'd better see if his mane was as big, and that this one was just an impression because of his colors. "Uhh.. The mouse ran 'way, and this isn't were Swaii is.. So Kimaji dosen't know where she is. " It wasen't hard to find the cub speaking in third person, and in a way that didn't explain too well. She really meant to say she didn't know this place, but Swaii was her main reference, she only remained around the cave where he and she were, or down at the lake, playing in the water or fleeing from fish. She didn't notice where she'd wandered off to, and her vocabulary still didn't include the word 'lost'.

(( Brainded. xD Took long cuz I was at a friends house. X3;; ))

User Image Maji listened quietly to the cub's explanation, a slow, gentle smile coming to his face. It would almost seem sad. This wasn't his then... whomever this 'Swaii' was, was her father. Certainly Ciyari hadn't taken another male as he mate... Hodari perhaps, but not anyone else. Though- it was a question as to if she and 'Swaii'- be it her father or mother- were mistweavers... if so perhaps there were more coming back into the lands. His eyes moved slowly from her to farther down the giver then back. "Mice tend to do that." He chuckled a bit.

"Well, which way did you come from? Perhaps I can help you get back to where you belong." Being lost... poor dear, so many cubs came into these lands the same way- only not so fortunate as having a companion... perhaps Swaii was only a companion, another cub. There was still hope that they were his own, though it was dim. He shook his head, scolding himeslf quietly for getting himself so foolishly hoped up.

Kimaji listened to him, they did that all the time! It was so anoying, much better if you could reach out and grab it. Though, it was fun to chase the little critter around, she'd admit. "Why do they do it anyways? " She grumbled, still upset that she haden't yet caught anything for Swaii. "Kimaji dosen't remember-- mouse made her get dizzy. " She answered, looking up. "But it had fat water! Not skinny one like this. " She nodded, motioning towards the river. She ducked down at the base of the water, looking into it, beforeback to the lion. "Do you thionk water's daddy dosen't feed it right? " She gasped, streching out a paw to poke the water warily.

User ImageThe lion coudln't help but laugh at how the cub described the river, "Aaah you mean the lake." He grinned a bit more, his eyes lifting from the cub to the river. "This is a river." He explained, stepping over her to begin along the riverside towards the lake, "Come, I'll show you... the river feeds the lake you see, it's what makes the lake 'fat' as you say.... so if you think of it in those terms, the river is like a father to the lake... and the grandfather is the one who sends the rains to feed the river."

"But.. why isn't the river so fat? " The cub blinks, lake? River? Those were new words, weren't they? A small grin, before she blinked-- Maji haden't explained what rain was.. "Whats rains? " She blinks, before pawing at the water once more, still rather curious as to why it was thin, but her current question was about rain, and she knew how to not throw more than two question at one go. Maybe there was a monster in this 'river' too?! She stepped away at the though, before making the small way over to Maji, eyeing the water carefully: Maybe one would just jump out and get her if she stayed too close!

User ImageMaji's expression sank when the cub questioned rain. She was young... but not too young obviously. Though the ground about the riverside was dampened from the splashing of the water and the fortunate plantlife's health, the rest of the land wasn't so fortunate. It was the wet season and the land was dry, the grass was growing thinner and weaker, losing the brilliant green that it once had. The trees hung their branches a bit lower it seemed, and the air didn't taste nearly as sweet and damp. "Rain is a gift." He said simply, both to himself and the cub.

"You see..." he nodded up to the sky, "Up above the land lives the brilliant winged king of storms... it's said that his wings are the sky itself, his eyes the moon and sun, and the clouds are his mane. When he roars, the sky and earth shake, his eyes flash, sending bolts down and accross the sky of pure light. His mane shakes and water falls from the sky to bless the land, when he beats his wings wind carries the waters to where it's to go, feeding the givers and in turn feeding the lakes... the lakes feed the land, the land feeds the grass-eaters, and they feed...", he cleared his throat a bit, taking a glance to either side to make sure that none of his herbivore friends were nearby, "They feed us. It's our job to praise the storm king with our lives, upholding the law of the land and respecting the gifts that he brings to insure that he continues to feed the waters."

But recently.... what had he done that was so wrong in the light-giving eyes of the storm king? Maji masked his expression behind the usal smile that could easily be mistaken for a thoughtful one rather than a sad or confused one. Why hadn't the rains come? The pride was growing concerned about it and looking to him to make it right... with cubs on the way he had to... his prayers would have to grow more frequent and he'd have to burn all the finest leaves he had dried to please the storm king.

A gift? The cub listens unblinking to the lions tale, a lion with wings? His wings were the sky? Wow... wait.. if Maji was telling the story, coulden't he do the same? "Why can't you make it rain? " She asks, curiously. Maybe he was this.. Thunder god in desguise! Making sure all the little lions were being good little lions, being nice to eachother and and.. He'd also save them from monsters! Wait.. Or maybe Swaii was this thunder god? He had a big puffy mane too, and he was big... But.. Maji didn't have wings, nor did Swaii... "Or.. Why can't he make it rain now? " She corrects herself.

User ImageMaji looked down to the little one in suprise, his mouth falling open at her question. The look of shock turned into a soft smile. "I can't make it rain... you can't tell the gods what to do or question why they do things, little one." He shook his head, trying not to laugh too much, it was cute really...so innocent, "All you can do is pray to them, offer them your loyalty, and hope that in times like this you redeem whatever sin has been comitted enough to grant their mercy upon the land once more."

The cub looked down a bit-- poor thunder god! He looked more like some.. Thing. "Can't we just be friends with him? " She mutters, coulden't a god have a friend? But then-- she didn't know this lions name. "I'm Kimaji, whos you? " She changes the subject, like that she could just say his name. rather than.. Not direct a question to anyone.

User Image "Friends?" He hadn't thought of that... perhaps a god was friends with the other gods. Surely there was more than just the storm king... it would make sense, the storms didn't control the earth or the birds, such things. "I... I don't think a god would go so low as to befriend a mortal...", Or even answer the questions of a loyal servant..., Maji thought quietly with an inward sigh.

His ears rotated at the next question, perking up against his large, fluffy mane. "Oh, how rude of me. My name is Maji... in a way I suppose I'm the prince here." He offered a bit of a shy smile.

"Why not? Its much better. " She nods, with a small grin. "Maji... You sound like me! " But then her mind recorded a new thing, prince? "What is that? " The cub asks dully-- prince..? What was a prince? Some sort of... helper or something?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 13, 2006 11:42 pm

User Image"It means it's my job to take care of the lions here." He explained simply with a smile. "Those here trusted me well enough to give me such an honor, to be responbasle for their lives..."

Maji moved a bit closer to the water, dipping his massive head down gracefully to lap at a section of the river slowed by a small overhang into the water. Content with his mouthful he paused once more to give the cub another look. She was colored like Cyari, but the markings were nothing like his and she had a quite plain pelt... then again, markings might not hvae been carried on through breeding. The gods wrote on everyone differently.

A heavy sigh was given to dismiss his thoughts again as he rose. "Does any of the scenery look familar to you?"

The cub looked around, befoe shaking her head. "Big rock and fat wa--lake, aren't here... " She attempts to explain, Kimaji always made sure to never pass the lake whenever she was alone, and she never payed attention when she was with Swaii. "Swaii has a big, too. " She muses, eyeing the lions mane-- she didn't know how to call it, so she supposed big would work. Hopefully, Maji would understand what she meant.
