Since we didn't have a DQ V SNES topic up, figured I'd make one. 8D
So yeah, I got my hands on a couple of DQ roms recently, so I went and booted up DQ V.
So my little 6 year old mini me ended up with an unusually high str stat. Wondering if that's how it works for everyone. But damn, he's only level 6 and I gave him a copper sword and he's basically OHKOing everything in his path with the Bianca chick... who's not so strong. But hey, least I'm not getting destroyed out here alone. 8D
I'm at the part where I'm crashing a castle full of ghosts, and I'm starting to run low on HP/MP. Is there anyway way I can recover them without having to walk all the way back to the inn, even moreso on the fact that it's nighttime and we (the 6 and 8 year old) are not supposed to be out kicking a** at midnight?

DQV is weird like that in any versions (haven't looked into the PS2 remake though) and if you didn't plan ahead and hoard Medical Herbs, you'll probably ending up being KO'ed a lot at that part (or at least IIRC, I'm shamefully more familiar with the DS version, but I've played the SNES version). There's also an inn in the castle. Anyway, personally, I found this dungeon one of the harder ones in terms of how limited you are weapon-wise (ie: no Boomerang, oh shi-). Anyway, in DQV or DQ in general, gameovers aren't that big of a thing as all that happens is you lose half your gold (which shouldn't be that high anyway at that point in the game), but you keep everything else.
PS: Even if I'm not as familiar with the SFC version, the SFC version is better than the DS version IMO, just because of how simple, yet effective the graphics are compared to the camera toggling required DS remake. ;D

I... actually managed to get through without any problems. I mean, yeah, Bianca died and I ran out of healing items and MP, but it wasn't a big deal. I was able to head back to town and use my gold to get better equips for Bianca.
And I went back to the inn in town on a whim, and sure enough, if you didn't clear the castle on the first night, your dad catches a cold and you can stay another night. So I used that chance to stock up on Medical herbs... which I didn't even need for the boss fight. XD
So now I'm chilling in Faerieville and someone made a comment about the Thieves Key. o:
Also... there was someone with a purple hat wandering around town earlier. Is that supposed to be me from the future? o:

The big thing in this game is people come and go. So if possible, try and focus a lot on pimping the hero out; OHKO'ing with him becomes pretty important later on, especially for a racist (monster-wise that is xD) person like me.
My word, I loved Faerieville, gotta love getting sucked into saving a magical kingdom because there is magical stairs in your basement! Boomerang helps immensely there, but it sounds like you're getting on just fine so I'll leave you be. And it could be anyone, but the question is: why?

Oh, don't worry about the hero. He's being pimped out with all sorts of goodies. 3nodding I'd like to make sure my allies can at least protect themselves or dish out some damage instead of having to watch them deal like... 1-2 dmg like Bianca was before I tricked her out.
-grinds for the money- 8D
Oh yes, the magical stairs in your basement was very awesome. Makes me wonder how no one noticed that the stairs should have EASILY gone through both floors of your house and be seen all over the village. XD
Why were you picked? Because you can see invisible people. And because you're a hero~

I admittedly used all the Seeds of ___ on him, mainly so he can Boomerang bot 99% of the fights effectively and heal when needed, although you do get actual permanent people later (like way later) on who aren't monsters who also make great choices for seed eating.
Eh, Papas was probably passed out by noon moonshine and Sancho was probably creeping over him for them to notice that the hero sort of walked through the floor and through the house itself. XD At any rate, enjoy your journey in Faerieville and may your lessons in Pokemon Gold/Silver help you in the Snow Queen's Castle~.
EDIT: Also, congrats on being the guild's 1,000th post!

Yeah, I'm using all the Seeds on him too. I never really use permanents on anyone but the people I can successfully control or will stay with me for a long, long time.
Seems very likely that the moonshine nap would do that. Especially since there's no tavern in town.
Also, ack. Walking through green stuff is very painful and bad. Dx

Just curious: how far are you now? Get to any significant plot alternations yet? ;D

I stopped at the castle after you run away from being a slave at that one place. The one where Henry used to rule at.
