She hadn’t seen the boil in a long, long while and the toll this had taken on the lemur monster was subtle, but there all the same. It burned her inside and out to be at odds-end with the gryphon, especially when outside her window, from time to time, his furry yellow head would pop up amongst the sea of faceless, nameless kids. However, it was in her nature to keep any feeling at all on the down-low, especially the tender and easily bruised, so it did not take her very long to get out and about once again; tossing that finely combed hair over her shoulders while glistening white skin told no sad tales.
She had spent her time wounded, and she had spent her time wondering if she had been right…but things had to get better someday, with or without Renaissance.
Natalia swung her body to the left, bringing it down a corridor of stairs and into an empty hallway. Students were busy with class while she, prompt on most days, chose to avoid scholarly duties altogether. Instead, the ghoul was on a hunt for one of two people—Whisper or Yaya, whom had both brought her much joy prior to the fieldtrip and the fight...
In actuality, anyone besides the tribe that followed Ren would do. She was seeking both attention and a well deserved distraction, and only assumed she would find each in one of the two ghouls.
When this hall proved to be useless, the monster pushed through the doors leading out, and ventured toward the courtyard; which seemed to be just as barren. Clicking heels and the occasional but no less deliberate grunt and sigh were the only sounds to resonate in the vicinity, but in the distance her orange gaze caught movement, and without so much as a second thought her long and limber legs were stretching across the decorative cement tiles toward the source.
On her face was a smile, bright and welcoming and behind her eyes there were no traces of discontent. She seemed to stride with no less luster than weeks and weeks before, and despite the slight murmur pain that plucked the strings of her heart, the lemur ghoul was the essence of confidence once again.
