Hobbies: Cooking: A fairly new hobby for Damian. He’s taken to cooking dinner for himself and his roommate at least three times a week. After he moved out of his parent’s house and into his apartment he found cooking to be a necessary evil. It wasn’t until recently that he started to become decent at it, and actually enjoy it.
He can’t make anything too complicated, and everything he’s made has been referenced from his mother’s extremely old, orange, Betty Crocker Cookbook. But, generally his meals turn out pretty well, unless he tries to outdo himself and then things will generally fall apart.
Music: Damian has a passion for music. He started playing the guitar when he was fourteen. It started as a way to get girl’s attention, but before long he had fallen in love with the instrument. He has a pretty good singing voice as well, and the combination of the two got him more than a few dates when he was in high school.
It also lead to him starting his own band, and wanting to be a musician. Unfortunately for him, starting a band and getting it off the ground was a lot harder than he thought. There were songs to write, and rehearsals to schedule, and he was only good at one of them. The songs he writes are pretty good, it’s just finding places to play them that’s the problem. And getting the band together to practice them.
Working Out: Going to the gym is a habit Damian picked up after being awoken as Sailor Orion. He used to go after work, but when he started working longer hours that didn’t work as well. Now he goes to the gym every weekday morning, waking up at six am so he can be back home by seven thirty to wake Carter up for school.
He balances his workout between cardio and strength training, not wanting to bulk up too much. His goal is to eventually have a full six-pack. He’s at about a four-pack now. At first he didn’t really enjoy exercising, but now he loves it. He always feels better about himself after spending an hour at the gym.
Flirting: Damian flirts. With everything. Well, everything that’s female (if he’s really drunk then sometimes even male) and talks, which includes guardian cats, Negaverse, customers at work, whoever. He’s an equal opportunity flirt, not realizing that girls might assume that his flirting actually means that he’s interested in them. Generally he never is; he just flirts because it’s second nature to him, and it’s the easiest way he knows how to get the things he wants. Unfortunately for him, nobody really thinks the same way he does so he’s broken a lot of hearts via flirt and run.
Virtues: Booster Rooster – Damian likes to have fun, he enjoys being the guy that lightens the mood, and turns a dour situation into one with just a little bit more light. When he was in high school he was a prankster, using cheap tricks to get a laugh, but luckily, now that he’s graduated from Meadowview he’s past the prankster phase. Being awoken as Sailor Orion also helped in that regard. He doesn’t have time to be as immature as he was in the past.
Now that he’s matured some he prefers to use his humour to boost spirits. He’s the guy that’s always trying to have a good time, and wants everyone else around him to be having a good time too. He’s also the one with the optimistic viewpoint, even when faced with insurmountable odds he’ll try to keep a positive spin on it, and keep the fun vibes flowing.
Charming – A lifetime’s worth of flirting has given Damian more than one lesson in how not to charm a girl. Which of course leaves him with many ways to charm a girl. He’s developed a litany of smooth lines, and has a smile for every occasion. His charming ways don’t always go over well, he’s been called smarmy more than once. While he could put his charm to good use to get his ideas across or other such things, he really just uses it to try and get his way, or get favours. He hasn’t matured that much after all.
His charm goes even beyond his words though. Damian keeps himself in shape and keeps some scruff on his cheeks to give him that rugged, adventurous look, to draw others in. He doesn’t feel guilty using his looks to help him get what he wants, why waste his level of hotness? Or that’s his thought process anyway.
Dedicated – Once Damian really sets himself to something he’s in it for life. He doesn’t like to let things go half finished, or leave before a job is done. This generally applies to causes he takes up, or teams he joins, such as the Pleiades. When he starts a job he has to see it through and make sure it gets done right. Or, at least gets done, but he’d prefer it to be right.
Enthusiastic – Damian can get excited about just about anything that interests him. When he picks up a new hobby he’ll go at it with fervor- until he gets bored of it. Some things managed to hold his interest like playing the guitar and cooking, but most things, like photography, drawing, and working on cars, got boring quickly leaving Damian knowing a little about a lot.
Flaws: Bottle Cap – Damian has a bad habit of bottling up all his anger. He says he lets things roll off his back, but really all the little indiscretions are just building up to fuel the fire that will eventually come. When he finally does snap it’s not uncommon for him to get violent in the way that’ll he’ll throw people around or push them. His rage wouldn’t lead him to beat anyone to death, but it can get him in trouble. He’ll say horrible things without thinking about the consequences, or how his words will affect others.
His temper gets especially bad if he’s drinking, moreso if something upsets him while he's drinking. He’s been known to lash out at his even his closest friends in this state. After his temper fades, he’s able to see reason and will feel horrible about what he’s done. If he remembers through his drunken haze.
Possessive – When Damian claims someone as his own he doesn’t allow anyone to encroach on what he considers to be his territory. He’ll go so far as to try and control who they can see and who can see them. He doesn’t want to share who he considers his with anyone, nor does he like to share. Instead, Damian would rather keep them for himself. His possessiveness can rub people the wrong way, and he’s been called controlling more than once. Deep down, Damian just doesn't want to be abandoned or to lose those he holds dear.
Reckless - Damian seems to either not have, or not listen to that voice in his head that says ‘hey, maybe you shouldn’t do that, you could get hurt’. He tends to run headlong into new situations without thinking about them. If he found a dark alleyway instead of grabbing a flashlight and a friend to explore it he’ll just plunge into the darkness no heed for what might be waiting for him. In battle this is especially bad because he tends to fall into traps more often than not, not stopping to think that maybe youma and the Negaverse are smarter than they look.
Fear of Getting Hurt – Damian doesn’t put much weight in love, and he definitely doesn’t believe in happily ever after. When his mother left his father he was old enough to remember how that devastated his dad. He was a broken man for years. And then he remarried and Damian watched his father try so hard to replace what his mother had taken from him. When his step-mother started cheating on his father Damian gave up on love completely. His father had truly and deeply loved his mother and it hadn’t gotten him anything but hurt and heartbreak.
Damian’s never been in love, but now that he’s able to remember pieces of his past life he’s realized that there was a time that he was in love. This realization has him scared to the bone. While his head is telling him he doesn’t want anything to do with it, his heart is yearning for it. Even so, Damian refuses to give into the feelings. One reason is because they are one thousand year old feelings directed at someone who’s been dead for the same amount of time, but more importantly, if he gives into the feelings there’s the chance that he can be hurt by them.
