She wasn't very good at listening apparently... Ever was rubbing off on the impressionable young corrupted senshi. She was wandering farther and farther away from Evers home, exploring little things on her own. It was day time now, and she couldn't help but notice the looks her presence gave. On lookers would look up at her.. and quickly look away. Shuffling by quickly, one or two even bumped or nudged her.

Most of them kept their distance, making a dome around the girl as if she had an invisible barrier around her.

It started to rain.

Moving down the shopping district she was looking in the window when she heard screaming behind her. " 'EY! You damn creeps in the miniskirts better stop messin' up our city." Something that caused her to look over her shoulder, eyes wide.

...Why was he screaming at her? And why was he holding up that umbrella like he was going to hit her?

It had all been chance, really. Alkaid was rarely powered up during the day but she and Khaldun had been having another QnA session at the apartment, so she had powered up to show him something. That's when she felt it, the distinct aura of another corrupt like herself - in the middle of town. At first she suspected Vivianite or Spinel. If they were on a mission, who was she to stop them? Then she realized that the aura she was reading was stronger than her own, which meant there was only one person that could be.

In a panic, she disappeared without a word to Khal.

When she reappeared on the long, partially crowded street, there was a redheaded senshi standing at the other end. She was different, but she knew that was the girl from the night of the BMC rescue. More than that, though, was the fact that civilians were slowly starting to circle her and one was raising an umbrella. If Alkaid didn't act fast, there were either going to be a lot of accidental human deaths or one very purposeful senshi mauling.

She sprang into action in less than a few seconds, sprinting forward and placing herself between Lyra and the umbrella just as it started to crash down towards the red-headed senshi. Her arm shot out to catch it and prevent it from hitting her and the look on her face was not.. a pleased one.

"This seems like an unwise choice, Earthlings."

Caught mid action one of Lyra's arms also shot up, a reactionary move meant to block the umbrella that would have hit her if not for the sudden appearance of the other senshi. Eyes wide, she looked opened mouthed for a moment before her gaze turned towards the group of humans now surrounding them.

"Stupid brat, calling in reinforcements eh? Earthlings? Dun' make me laugh! And you... you are just as ugly, even in that short skirt. Well.. c'mon boys, lets show them that we can defend our OWN city." The others around them started to gather objects to carry. More umbrellas. One even grabbed something off a store shelf, not that the glares from the owner would stop the man.

Even for early in the day, the men smelt of cigarettes and liquor. They probably would have never dared even confront the corrupted senshi otherwise.

"Wha...whats going on." Lyra said, reaching out to grasp Alkaids shoulder. Some inner feeling, this girl felt right. She had defended her anyways... enough to prove that Alkaid was on Lyras side. "Why are they doing this?"

Alkaid listened to the men with a cold patience and simply sighed as they began to gather up makeshift weapons. Not even a small crowd of men like this could put a dent in her confidence - humans were infinitely easier to control than powered beings.

"Please don't make such an awful mistake." She still had her back to Lyra and had pushed herself closer to the Eternal, making her body a shield between the laughable weapons and the new recruit. Still, when Lyra asked her a question, she answered without ever taking her eyes off of the men around them.

"They think we are part of the moon kingdom," that was the most obvious answer she could think of, or at least the most simple for a situation like this. The disgust in her voice was obvious, though, at the thought of being wielded by the princess she had once waited so confidently for. "Humans don't see things the way we do."

Her eyes were darting among them then, counting. She could handle many more humans than powered beings but if the crowd was still too big enough, she would be useless. It was hard to tell with them all milling around.

So because they thought they were the white moon senshi, they thought the two girls were enemies of the world. A world they were trying so badly to protect, but the humans saw it differently. All humans saw it as change...

Grasping out, Lyra placed a hand on the taller womans shoulder.

"'Hell you talkin about ey'? Mistake? Heh! You dun made the mistake by crossin' paths with us today!" With that the men came at them, all screaming war cries and jeers brandishing makeshift weapons.

Like she was in a bad movie, to Lyra.. the world seemed to go in slow motion. In actuality, the world was normal, but she was lost in her thoughts. Something... something in the back of her head was calling. Screaming out at her, telling her just say the words. A friendly feeling of warmth like a guiding hand telling her what she needed to do. Words that rolled off the tip of her tongue as if second nature, and yet... they were still so new.

"Nebula Guard!" instantly a dome covered the two of them. A dome made of particles that barely covered the two of them. Over the next second or two the dome expanded outwards. Lyra being the center point, it covered 10 feet in all directions around the senshi. Not only did it do that... the shield 'reflected' all of the humans, whom were pushed back by the shield. Some of them tripping.

"THE 'UCK!" The 'leader' of the men said as he came to his feet. He was grasping his arm, a nasty road rash on the exposed skin. Taking his umbrella, he flung it at the shield. The item penetrated it.. but the umbrella slowed down dramatically when it hit the shield and fell inside of it with a rather undignified thud.

Alkaid had been unsure of what was going to happen. She had felt a need to protect the girl grasping so desperately to her shoulder, even if her power signature surged and dwarfed her own in comparison. New corrupts were almost useless, more useless than Alkaid's meager abilities. She had grit her teeth as the mob surged and came after them, desperately trying to do the math in her head. How many could she control with her light? Civilians weren't like super powered enemies and that was the only thing she'd ever used her power on.

Just when she'd been ready to release her power and see for herself, the redhead behind her shouted instead. Instantly, a dome sprang up around them and expanded. Alkaid watched in slight awe as the humans hit it and rebounded back onto the road. Her quickening pulse mellowed out once more and she could only smirk at the irritated men from behind the safety of Lyra's nebula wall.

"Good job," she breathed, relaxing her muscles and examining the inside of the dome - every inch of it. "That's easier than what I had intended." She wasn't sure how long Lyra could hold the barrier, or what would happen if she tried to use her power in junction with it. So, she simply turned and looked at Lyra with a quizzical face.

"Can I teleport us out of this?" There was a possibility that Lyra didn't know. They might just have to play trial and error, if so.

Lyra stood there, mortified, not knowing what the hell she just did but apparently it was a good thing. At least the other senshi seemed to be happy about it... and the people were no longer crowding around them.

The mass of colors made it semi hard to see through, but the closer the people approached the shield the more visible they became. "I...I have no idea." She blinked taking a step forward before realizing it. She stopped for a moment, noticing that nothing happened. The shield was still up and strong as ever. In the back of the red heads mind she felt the power leeching from her to keep the shield protecting them. It was not a drastic change at first, but as time wore on she started to feel the effects it was having on her. This was her first time casting it after all...

Pausing, she thought back. "....Wait we can teleport?" THAT caused her to stare. They could teleport? No one ever mentioned this to her before!

It was a good thing that Alkaid was a patient girl and also just as lucky that she had already experienced what Lyra was going through. Of course, she had never been quite so bold as to run out into the middle of the street in the daytime. Maybe it was just because she'd spent her learning months cramped up in the negaverse subspace, though.

"Yes," she said patiently, letting her eyes wander from Lyra to the swirling colors around her. It was interesting, to say the least, but even she knew that nothing was indefinite.

"Do you know how to let it go?" She settled her gaze back on the eternal again, curious and patient on the surface, but with a growing need to get the both of them out of the place they were in. "If you can let go of this, I can teleport us somewhere safe." She held out her hand, gesturing for Lyra to take it, but also waiting for her answer. She didn't want to try and teleport through the barrier unless she had to.

"...I have no idea." She said, looking up and around at the shield, feeling herself growing even more tired as time wore on. The crowd was growing around them, spectators showing up here and there seeing the giant orb from a distance. Someone must have called the police too, there were sirens in the distance.

"I can..try? I dont know this is all messed up im sorry!" The girl shuddered and slumped her shoulders. She did not need to fall victim.. not yet. Not like this. But she really felt...helpless.

Struggling she tried to grab at the threads of power that was channeling out of her. Tie them off, stop them from being released. Apparently she had done something right, a moment after she felt no more power draining out of her, the shield dropped.

Lyra quickly took hold of the females hand.
PostPosted: Tue May 24, 2011 11:43 pm

Alkaid felt powerless in that moment, standing beneath the dancing colors of Lyra's shield and watching the girl as she struggled to use something that probably felt awkward and foreign. She knew, because she'd been there once, she'd been her once. All she could do was wait - either Lyra would turn it off consciously, or she would pass out from the energy expenditure.

"You can do it," she said softly, nodding her head and encouraging her on. She was beginning to worry, but it didn't show. There was no need for Lyra to see her own panic mirrored on Alkaid's face. What good would more worry do either of them?

When the shield finally dropped there was no time for Alkaid to be relieved. The crowd was larger, there were flashing lights in blue and red from the corner of her eye, and she didn't need to look to know what that meant when it was coupled with sirens. Instead she grasped Lyra's hand tightly and reached out to circle the other arm around torso, making a shield out of herself even as she called on the power and set a location in her mind.

One second they were standing in the middle of the street with sirens wailing around them and the next they were in an apartment living room with plush carpet beneath their heels. She unwound herself from Lyra slowly and looked up, expecting to see Hematite sitting on the couch, waiting. He was gone though, probably restless and trying to find her after she disappeared without a word, which left the two of them alone. In peace.

"Who is supposed to be watching out for you?" She asked softly, nothing but concern on her face as she squeezed the hand of the more powerful, yet more clueless senshi.

The sensation felt weird, sort of like.... being pressed into a black hole and then spit out again. While weird, and cold... the idea of it all was somehow comforting. It was almost as if the darkness was embracing them, helping them along with their escape. Urging them that they did no wrong.

They didn't...did they?

The plush floor under the womans shoes made her pause, stare down. It was the first thing she really focused in on in the new surroundings. Her foot raised and fell almost like she was tapping it in irritation, but in actuality she was just amusing herself feeling the odd sensation of the squishy carpet.

"Oh...well uhm." She looked up next as a warmth crept over her face. "Zinkenite and Ilmenite... Zink is at school at the moment and i live with Ilmenite right now. I uhm... sort of wanted to explore." A unspoken answer to her question:

She snuck out.
PostPosted: Sun May 29, 2011 2:05 am

Alkaid caught the underlying admission in Lyra's words but she managed to keep her face from showing how displeased she was. Her guardians should have been more careful and they should have explained these kinds of dangers already. She supposed it couldn't exactly be helped, though, not now.

"If you want to explore, don't go out as a Senshi, okay?" She had leaned down just enough to look Lyra straight in the eyes - she really needed her to understand this. "It could have been much worse than a mob of angry men, they could have called cops and I've read enough about them to know that they're sometimes a little.. excitable." Beatings, shootings, any other number of things were possible. She didn't want to scare Lyra, but in the back of her mind she wondered just how easy it would be for a gun to take down a Senshi when she was unguarded.

She leaned back up and released Lyra's hand, moving to sit on the couch near to them. The girl's odd behavior with the carpet didn't go unnoticed, but Alkaid thought little of it. She'd certainly done her fair share of odd things in the first week or so after waking in the Negaspace.

"I'm going to have to talk to Zac," she said softly beneath her breath, then let out a long sigh. She thought he ought to know better.

"Cops?" That word rang out as a unspoken question, but was quickly followed with a few nods. She did not know what the term really meant but.. if they did what Alkaid was implying then she really did not want to tangle with them. Biting her lip, the girl gave a last nod of understanding.

"Oh no please dont yell at Zac!" Her eyes grew wide with panic, staring at the other girl as she spoke the next words. "It was my fault for leaving... he didn't know. I just. I was feeling cooped up... i needed to stretch my legs and.. well i guess it was my fault for going out in gear...but."

"It just feels SO right to be in this form..." Clearly the naive side was showing, she did a little childish twirl on the carpet. Nearly losing balance and stumbling, she caught herself a moment before her rump was on the floor. No matter HOW soft the carpet was, she had a feeling it still would have hurt.

Besides... if she yelled at Zac, he would yell at her in return for going out alone. Not that it would have been unjustified, just not too pleasing. "Thank you.... by the way. For saving me." A attempt to subject change, but also truth.
PostPosted: Tue May 31, 2011 12:38 am

"I'm not going to yell at him," she answered softly, shaking her head and sending the soft wisps of bangs around her face swaying. For all that Alkaid was upset, she was not the type to yell, she just needed to drive a point home about the dangers of a fledgling dark senshi being out on their own - especially one as powerful as Lyra. What if a senshi had gotten to her first? The thought made Alkaid's teeth grit.

"I know that it feels more normal to be in your powered form than whatever new identity you've been given, but for us to stay in this society we need a.. certain degree of mystery. Do you understand?" She leveled her soft, citrus eyes on Lyra then and made a point of catching her gaze once she was done failing at ballet in her living room.

"You're welcome, but that was pure chance." She was frustrated now and it seemed the attempt to change the subject was not going over so well. Her hands came up and rubbed at her temples, trying to work away some invisible stress. "I was showing a Captain how to do something, I wouldn't have ever powered up otherwise during the day." She glanced back up at Lyra from where she had been staring irritatedly at the carpet. "It was luck that I did that, it was luck that I even found you, and we can't operate on luck."

She wasn't so much angry as she was upset, that much was clear. Alkaid would have taken it personally if their newest recruit had met her demise at the end of a gun barrel. Even if she'd never met the girl, she would have mourned the loss.

Not talking for a bit, the senshi just let the severity of the situation trickle into her mind slowly and settle down. She was really in that much danger? "...The people of destiny city don't like us... do they? They always look away whenever i approach. Or they pretend like they dont see me... but when i am in cvilian garb, they dont do that as much. Its almost like they ignore my existence. Up until that mob, i had really no idea they could even SEE me."

She really was naive. Walking towards the other sailor, with a sigh she flopped down next to her in the chair. She had no idea if alkaid was one for touch... but Lyra leaned against the girl anyways. "This is all so new and strange. Would you teach me how to uhm.... teleport? In case i need to again?"
