Magistrate
The magistrates are equal in rank to the General, though they govern social decisions rather than ones involving the army. They are highly respected and wise individuals that are looked upon for guidance by the Regent and Regentess. Their attendance at council meetings is mandatory unless IC reasons prevent it. (ie: injured in a fight or close to giving birth etc…) and they have great influence within the pride.
They are the eyes of the Regent and Regentess and will be involved in all major decisions made within the pride. (Their first task to decide on the situation with the lack of water).
Magistrates are usually adults, though promising adolescents can also apply. They can come from any background so long as they embody the spirit and the laws of the Firekin. These lions are in an advisory role and as such suit a calmer and level-headed candidate.
Brigadier
A Brigadier's job is to support the General of the Firekin Army (currently Azarax RPed by Moonrazor). They are strong individuals who are gifted in the art of war and, in particular, strategy and tactics. This would be considered a promotion step for current officers or a rank for an extremely gifted warrior. Brigadiers will command authority and have good control of their own temper, being dependable and cool in even the most difficult of situations. They answer directly to the General and can, on occasion, be asked to attend council meetings.
They meet with the Captains on a regular basis to look over training schedules and patrolling schedules as well as visit new litters to look for any cubs who show signs of becoming promising warriors.
Often, if you wish to speak with the General, you will have to go through the Brigadier first.
Corporal
The next stage up the rank ladder for soldiers and guards. A corporal will show leadership qualities and have proved themselves in their loyalty and their strength. Corporals will be expected to provide assistance to both the apprentices and to the fully-fledged soldiers and guards, providing assistance to the Captains / Lieutenants where necessary.
It is commonplace for a Corporal to have one apprentice at any given time.

1. Active RPers only. These ranks are important within the pride and you will be expected to continue RPing after the end of this plot. Those who disappear for a long time without giving us a heads up will have their character demoted without notice.
2. Open to members who are already official members of the pride. I.E. Not available to rogues or refugees who will be joining as part of this plot.

Desired Rank: Magistrate, or failing that Brigadier
Short Personality Desc. Once short tempered and easily irritated Azar has calmed down a lot. She is independent, strong and loyal. She is hard working and pushes herself as often as possible to do the most she can. She loves to duel, really loves to duel. A good amount of time you can find her out in the lands searching for a good duel, or even just watching one. All of these duels have over time really taught her to hold her ground and fight. She holds her family above most everything else. Even though she is grown up she tries to make her parents proud, and now also tries to make her cubs proud. She strives to be the best and she doesn't let anything get in her way. She likes to be as fair as possible when it comes to dealing with things. She has learned to control her temper however when she is angered she becomes a little hot headed and stubborn, but can calm herself down once again. She is tough and doesn't like to take nonsense from anyone that comes her way.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: Azar has always loved fighting and dueling for all of her life. She has also spent a good amount of her life trying to be the best she can be and trying to get as much responsibility as she can. She loves having something to do and is a workaholic. She can easily keep control of her temper and work with the others higher then her. She loves all parts of fighting and has spent a lot of time learning every part of it that she could. The rank would give her the chance for the responsibility that she has always wanted. OCCLY wise I love RP and getting involved with plots. I love RPing her so the chance for her to have more RPies sounds great! <3

Desired Rank: Brigadier (or, failing that, Corporal)
Short Personality Desc. Shisa is feisty, stubborn and competitive. Her tactics are mostly analytical, working to counter her moderate size with smarter moves. It is because she recognizes that she needs to use her head that she has superb control over her temper, even while being competitive.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: Shisa is a dedicated soldier, though her focus is not narrowed to only that. She is used to working on a team and is not concerned only with her own performance: She's trained with her larger, physically stronger but less mentally adept brother Chaka, helping him reach a Battlemaster rank (he has the duels, just the RP posts need to be filled in for the last one ~~; lolgotit ). She was able to help him recognize his weaknesses and work on them, and he helped her do the same, so she has experience working with others and helping them improve as much as herself.
Where her brother is not concerned with the politics of being a soldier, focusing only on himself and his skill, Shisa definitely is more aware/interested and his hard work being recognized by his rank change would be an opportunity for Shisa's dedication and skill to be recognized as well.
OOCly, if duels were not so hilariously random, she would have been working towards a Battlemaster rank as well xD Whether or not she has the rank, ICly she has experience similar to that of Chaka. And since I own/RP them both, yes, it is necessary to mention him excessively. Oops. xD

Short Personality Desc. Xipil is a lion who strives to be the best, to excel at anything he puts his mind to. He's smart, always calculating and trying to predict his opponent's next move rather than rushing in head first. He's always trying to improve himself and find ways that can benefit the pride militaristically.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: Xipil is a fighter, a dedicated soldier who prides himself on having both the strength and brains to achieve victories. He struggled as a cub, even as an adolescent, trying to find his place in the pride before realizing that his strategic way of thinking benefited him most as a soldier. He's a lion that can observe and see flaws then find ways to fix them, which he's constantly striving to do. He wants nothing more than to be an asset to the pride and provide them with ways of bettering the system.

Short Personality Desc. Damu is calm in many situations, finding little gets him upset or sets him off emotionally. Having grown with an affectionate, if perhaps soft heart. A gentle giant through and through.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role:
For most of his life in the Simo, Damu has lead a live of watching over the cubs of the pride whilst at the same time being a fluffy bit of climbing apparatus for the especially bored ones. Having a mostly level head and a gentle heart he puts the even the smallest member of the pride forward first, but will always think of others aswell. He is always observant and fair to those who deserve it and puts in his two cence to those that could be confused, wanting to be as supportive to his pride as he possibly can be.

Ali Baba wasn't the largest of his litter, but what he lacked in stature he made up for in cunning. He's observant and thoughtful, and perhaps a little boastful of his family's proud history. While traditional-minded, he respects the pride's new rules and traditions.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role:
His father has recently become unfit to lead their family, so Ali Baba has taken charge. He's following in the pawprints of his aunt, Kenna, and working to uphold his family's honor within the pride. He's fierce in combat and always seems to be underfoot, listening and scheming.

Short Personality Desc. Quiet and thoughtful, she always does her best to keep her mind straight and her anger within herself. Never quick to act, she thinks through every action before making a move. Born the only child of two guards, one of which who will be getting injured and become a baby sitter, she will lose her want to be a guard as she used that time to spend with her mother; she is now ready to move on and become something more important.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: She has her mothers ability to keep calm, though she doesn't totally lose the 'fiery anger' her pride is known for. She can keep calm in situations where anger flairs.

Short Personality Desc. First and foremost, Iirte is a survivalist. She knows just how to survive in harsh and trying environments, and she will go to extremes to stay alive. She is strong of mind and quick on her feet. While she is well aware that some battles would require her to retreat, she is more likely to go through with the fight anyways and will surrender if she has no other options. She will not submit to just any lion. It would have to be someone she could grow to respect. She is the type who can only respect those who are similar to her. Namely, those who fight for what they believe in and know when it is best to surrender honorably rather than die in vain.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: While in the past Iirte was content to remain in the background, the dire situation in the Firekin has caused her to go above and beyond the call of her rank. Between working her normal guards shifts on both the borders and the mud hole, she has also joined the volunteer water seekers. She has more than proved her loyalty to the pride, and just how much she's taken on is in itself a show of her strength. She will take lead among her fellows whenever possible in the hopes that her past experience with a pride in such a grim situation can somehow help the Firekin pull out on top.

Current Rank: Soldier (some weird stuff had her placed under Hunter)
Desired Rank: Corporal
Short Personality Desc. Seide is a bit of a cutthroat with a strong heart. She believes it takes sacrifices to improve many, but she is also the first to be willing to take those. While she makes a decent leader, because she listens, she also has an inner fear that she will never be the natural leader her sister, An, was, and this hinders her progress. She does not get noticeable angry, but she will become cold if pushed. She's a fighter to the core, and loves her heritage and a good spar.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: Because of Seide's "no-nonsense" personality, she'd make an excellent leader for those beneath her. She loves cubs, and would love to take on an apprentice. In addition, she's excellent at following commands due to her love and respect for her culture, so a middle-position suits her very well.

Short Personality Desc. One of a litter of 13 cubs, Kuza is a well adjusted and centered lioness, and is devoted to her family and the pride. While she has a natural kindness she is also a full Firekin and proud of her pride. A talented warrioress she tempers strength with patience and violence with honor. She would never abuse her position in the pride, or beat up on someone weaker than her. Though if a lion was being unruly, she would step forwards and stop them, offering words first then a swift paw swipe if they ignored her. In balance, she will defend those that need aid against a bully and is certainly not above 'paying back' the bully's actions to themselves. She can be hot headed at times but will mellow as she ages.
Reasons why your character is suitable for the role: A very talented fighter she also has the patience and kindness that would be required in having a young apprentice. She is not quick to anger though is no afraid of using her muscle for the good of the pride. During the recent drought she stepped out and took up water-seeking duties alongside her regular workload, also acting as a guard for those true water seekers who are perhaps less able to look after themselves. She went on the hunt to track down the rogue lioness and to protect the other pride members and cubs that followed them. While not the type to lead by shouting orders, she has a more subtle approach and will guide others while letting them make mistakes so they can learn from them.
