The day was nothing new, Wook awoke to the feeble attempts of rays from the sun attempting to gleam through shrouding tree limbs that basically said no. He stretched and pulled his muscles into a more comfortable position then proceeded to yawn. This was his morning ritual. He was young, played, ate and slept. The roles were filled with giggles and practice roars, but never had he made friends outside of his littermates, he never bothered too. Today was matched with a goal, that goal was to make at least one thing not the same.
Wook stood, he stumbled, young legs weak beneath the early hour waking up, quickly he caught himself. Falling over, even for a cub, or so he thought, would be seen as runt like attributes and not worthy. He held a lot of happy pride in who he was. "Big, big day!" He brooded and stepped into the bright day.

Uri had been up for hours before the young cub had even began to stir in his cozy den. Url had grown use to early mornings, his mother had rarely slept well and always had her episodes at all hours and it seemed like mornings were hard on her, so Uri got up early and found it better to use his time and get out of the den.
The large male moved slowly though the pride lands, the rocks had been very quiet today and had yet to tell him anything of importance so he felt a little lonely. Uri had never really made any friends he had always had the rocks that told him everything he needed to know and kept him company. Till recently the fact that he was all alone with out a real friend didn't bother him, but now Uri was an adult, and adults.... well adults wanted a mate and Uri didn't know how to even go about making a friend much less finding a mate.

Before Wook had realized he wasn't alone he was busy with some pretty stone he had decided to collect and clean up with simple water, just something to do really. He moved towards his small collection he kept near his homes entrance and admired them one by one. He had five in total he treasured beyond the rest. The five were rough edged, had natural colors, but were uniquely individual.
The first had one smooth side, it was the most circular by far, but had a boxy, cut off kind of feel. It was speckled with dark brown, but had lighter tones beneath the speckles. The rest became a blur as his vision corrected to a walking figure. Wook lifted his head slowly, it rose not as slowly as he had predicted and felt his neck strain a little then relax. A male, large, bright red, much like his own pelt, with black markings and a blank expression was walking nearby. He watched as the older male glance briskly at ground spaces as he passed them by.
"Hu-Hullo!?" Wook beckoned lightly. He regretted his outburst quickly.
