Such productive collection trips she'd had, in fact.. it was almost too successful. Her lair was getting to be a bit stuffy with all the things she'd put in it. Dragging a few of her more... dainty trinkets out, she set them on the bank close to the water for easy access before diving back down and starting to busily make more room. She tore at rocks and debris with her front hooves in an attempt to make her lair a bit bigger. She wanted, needed more space for her growing collection of bobbles and trinkets. She was so occupied with her work she wasn't keeping an eye on her things, including a partially broken necklace she'd left with some interesting looking pottery bowls.

Bored. Bored bored bored. Only one emotion crept through the Seathi's shallow existence at that exact moment. There had to be something to do in this endless expanse of water. Blowing out a couple of bubbles irritably, she stared at her distorted reflection in them for a moment. A large orange blur with bright blue eyes gazed back, the face oddly stretched in all directions. A mop of red hair flopped on the top of the head, and the bright shine of light on metal could just be seen in the corner of the bubble, a reflection of the earrings that adorned Cyllene's ear.
With a pop, the bubble suddenly burst, making her jump. A nervous giggle escaped the corners of her mouth as she was brought back to the world. Suddenly, she realized that she had drifted quite close to the bank. Flicking her tail, she shot forward awkwardly, using her front legs to stabilize her. A cacophony of noises drifted to her ears. Things being thrown and kicked around.
Proceeding with caution, the crept closer. A sparkle caught her eye from above the surface. She instantly zeroed in on it, changing her course. Her head broke through the water into the fresh air. Her exposed skin instantly felt cold, but she did not notice. All she could see was the pretty trinket that had caught her eye. It appeared to be a necklace. She swam closer, casting a quick look around her. No one was here. She reached out with her teeth to grab the necklace from the bank.

It was then that she noticed something orange in the corner of her mind. Stopping her work, she headed for the surface to see a tiny sethi reaching out for her newly acquired bobbles. With an irritated lash of her tail she made her way towards the small orange mare, irritated bubbled being exhaled from her lungs as she went. Her head broke surface as she got closer. "Stop right there.. those be mine!" She glared at the little mare though her pace hadn't slowed one bit. Her things... she didn't like others trying to make off with them.. and that necklace had taken her days to find just the perfect thing to attach to the turtle skull she'd found weeks ago.

Hearing a sharp voice, Cyllene quickly wrapped her lips around the necklace and pulled back into the water, taking the necklace with her. Then she turned to look at the source of the angry shouting. Her fins instantly pressed tighter against her body in an involuntary reflex of fear. Her muscles tensed.
But she had to guard her treasure. "Well ish minh now!" she mumbled around the necklace. Mentally cursing, she realized the chain was broken so she couldn't put it on for a quick getaway. She dropped it to hold it between her front two hooves, clearing her mouth so she could talk. "It was just lying there, anyone could pick it up! Besides, finders keepers!" Where was Thyone when you needed her? Her sea otter would have helped her escape easily.

Her fins actually seemed to bristles up with her aggravation as she made her way closer. "Stealing what doesn't belong to you... Tsktsk I left it yes... but only long enough to make it in a safe place.." She growled low. She wasn't often violent towards strangers.. though she made a big front of violence with how she ate. it was nothing more than smoke and mirrors so to say.. But one thing could put her on a fight.. and that was to take something she'd already laid claims to. "Of course.. if you leave it... I'll let you off with a warning.. if not.. you might just make it out alive.." A sinister smile crept over her face as something dark and blood lusting crept into her eyes. Sharp teeth were now bared at the little mare as she was now withing striking distance.

Alive?!? Arching her spine proudly in an act of defiance, the Seathi glared at the Kelpi. In her mind, however, the Kelpi was not a Kelpi but a whatchamacallit, a result of her tendency to give nicknames to everyone and everything. And swimming four-leggers with a tail were definitely whatchamacallits in her mind. The spines along her tail bristled as her muscles rippled.
"You can't take my necklace from me! And it's not stealing. I collected it. It was just lying here with no proof that it belonged to anyone. For all I know, you could have seen me with a pretty necklace and are framing me." No one threatened the great Cyllene and got away with it.
The Seathi would... blow furious, semi-solid bubbles at her to blind her! It was a weird trick, but one all Seathi could do. The bubbles would remain for a good few minutes before they popped. It came in handy when trying to capture a shoal of fish, and it came in handy when fast escapes were necessary. "You can't take me! I'm stronger and faster and I'll beat you easily! The necklace is mine!" She waited a fraction of a second for the mare to move closer so she was within bubbling distance of the whatchamacallit's eyes.

One solid movement her tail lashed and sent her in a furry after the little mare. How dare/i] she just swoop in and take what was hers. "Vile little sod taking what was left with my pots!" She snapped at the mare ready for a taste of blood. Oh this little mare would pay dearly for her insolence! She was swift for a halfbreed, of course she had to be in order to keep some of her more treasured things.

With a scream, the Seathi unleashed a furious frenzy of the solid bubbles. They did not pop, nor did they rise towards the surface. They just... hovered. But as the kelpi launched herself at Cyllene, the bubbles invariably would find themselves in her eyes. The Seathi did not know if the bubbles would irritate her eyes, or just blind her for a few moments, but a surge of triumph flashed through her angry state.
With a victory cry, she attempted to bonk the Kelpi on the nose with her hooves. And then she felt the necklace start to slip. Everything seemed to slow down. Horror crossed her mind as her prize fell from her grasp. She turned trying to lunge for it, but in the process only put herself in the way of the Kelpi's mouth.
Sharp teeth skimmed her rough skin as she screamed, part in anguish at the loss of her pretty (she was nowhere near quick enough to catch it, the Kelpi would beat her), and part in pain as the teeth pinched some of her skin, causing small wounds to open. Luckily, the wounds were shallow and did not bleed to any extent that could be noticed. She twisted, trying to escape from the Kelpi with another scream.

Flesh.. she'd hit her mark and down what she'd wanted to. Through the mass of bubbles she caught a glimpse of her necklace. Confounded bubble blowing wretch! She'd been trying to make a get away with a distraction and that would be her down fall. She released the other mare and dove swiftly for her stolen trinket. She'd be damned if she'd let this little wretch get to it. Sure.. it was possible the mare would try to leave.. but so long as she wasn't trying to continue after her busted necklace she was happy. Still to make sure to thwart the little mare's attempts, she batted at her with her tail as she dove.

Tears stung her eyes, mixing with the saltwater instantly so they were undetectable. The places where the teeth had struck twinged with pain that made the Seathi want to scream. Sure, she acted big and tough, but few had ever actually hurt her before.
Then a massive tail smacked her in the face. She spun, head over heel, in the opposite direction, propelled by the force of the impact. That was going to bruise.
Only when her world finally stopped spinning did the Seathi manage to look behind her, though somewhat dizzily. The evil necklace-stealing mare was already diving down after it, way ahead of Cyllene.

She stretched out her neck and felt her teeth catch the beaded necklace. Clenching her jaw, she turned and made for the land, her tail aiding to propel her towards the land she knew would be the barrier to keep the meddling wretch from continuing in her attempts to steal her treasure. She glanced back to see if the small mare was even going to attempt to follow.

With both a bruised ego and bruised cheek, the Seathi was most displeased. "This will NOT do!" She muttered, looking cross. "No one beats the great Cyllene and gets away with it. I only let some guys win when I'm having fun." Her voice was low and fast, so the Kelpi would not hear her mutterings.
Puffing up her chest, the Seathi began to follow the stranger. "Hoi, treasure stealer! Come back!" She shouted, moving with a fierce deliberation. "Not only do you take my necklace, but you shove me and injure me too!" A purple bruise was beginning to crop up underneath her eye, and the cuts from the strangers teeth stung from the salty water. "I want compensation!"

Her head broke the surface and she tossed the necklace ashore a good ways, or at least good enough to keep it out of the small mare's grasps once again. It was when she sunk back down into the water to go along her day that she heard the little fiends demands. "Cocky little wretch aren't you. I tell you what for compensation I'll let you live now be gone before I really get mad and change my mind and eat you." She was already turning around to face the small annoyance once more. As she was turning, she was keeping herself between the sethi mare and the shore. She was ready once more to defend what had originally been hers.

"Me? Cocky? You stole my treasure!" Cyllene was the type to cling to a dead horse and beat it with a bush to try to get it to keep moving. "You're a big, mean bully. Just because I'm littler than you, you take my necklace!"
Anger rushed through her, "If you won't give me my necklace, give me something else!" She wanted treasure. Those who stole her treasure owed her. She refused to back down, not even afraid of this strange mare. Which was odd, because when she'd met Nessie she'd been terrified, even though Nessie had turned out to be nice. But then again... Nessie had left her treasure very much alone.

She really was loosing her patcients with this little twerp. "I told you small fry I am allowing you to live.. I give you you're life now begone before I change my mind and put you out of my misery." She actually snarled the words as she spoke. "You pilfered my treasure in the first place so I think I'm being beyond generous. Keep it up and I'll be forced to become a real monster." She was prepared to dispose of this little ingrate by any means now as her fins once more seemed to bristle in annoyance. he temper rarely snapped and it was beyond it's breaking point now.
