This is the S.L.I.S.K. system, which is designed to be a "teleporter" for spiritual beings. It was designed and set up by someone in Athens, Greece, who to this day remains unknown. There is one in every city in the world, including some towns, and can only be seen by spiritually aware humans and spiritual beings.
S.L.I.S.K. systems resemble specimen tanks, and in fact stepping into one is like stepping into water. But walking through one with a destination in mind lets you walk out into the desired location. Many have been attempted to be dissected, but each who tried has discovered that the S.L.I.S.K. systems are indestructible, made by a material that none have ever seen before, one that seems to absorb whatever damage is done to it and increase in defensive capability by a multiplied factor equal to the damage done to it. Thus, an atomic explosion would only make it harder to harm.
Each S.L.I.S.K. system has room for one person to walk through at a time, and to activate one a person must simply walk up to it and the doors will slide open, mist spilling out from the absolute cold inside touching the warm outside.
It is with this that spiritually aware and spiritual beings are able to traverse the great distances to go wherever they desire.
Role Playing Note
You can write in any thread that you are using the S.L.I.S.K. system to leave to another location. Realize, however, they you cannot use this to escape a battle. To do so would be an abuse of the system, which will then be abolished and you will all have to fly to other countries.
