These are all military funerals so please if you are close, see if you can make it. Sadly, I can't make it since none are close enough and I could risk my husbands re-inlistment...

counter-protesting only gives them attention; which is pretty much what they srtive for.

I get what you mean though; they are a bunch of pathetic s**t-stain excuses for human beings that deserve to be put in their place.

I swear if I were president I would send the National Guard to arrest any Westboro Baptist cultists that showed up at a military funeral. You can arrest and hold anyone for up to 24 hours without cause.

But like I said, they're committing treason! Is that not punishable anymore? I mean come on... They are clearly domestic terrorists that support the downfall of the country.

I'm going to be working on an article or letter to send to every congressman, if something does not happen soon. I'll probably start my letter soon, actually.

There has already been thousands of letters sent to congress, y'know. :l But still; go for it.

Also; Treason doesn't really seem to be a crime any more. Over here in britain some islamic extremists burnt a giant poppy (Which is just about the most un-patriotic, socially unacceptable and most frowned upon thing in our culture) and they only got a £50 fine, and that was for littering/being a public neusance. Also; the government paid the fine because they were on welfare.

You would think with all the people raising the same exact issue about these people the government would do something, since you know, they are violating a few rights and a few laws... That's so pahetic. So now the U.S. is allowing people to openly disgrace the country and they're protected?

I do not understand why any country would tolerate any acts of treason, no matter what they are...

Well ain't that some s**t, I'm just waiting for s**t to hit the fan.

Many people who burn flags and symbols of patriotism use the "Freedom of Speech" excuse, yet when a priest wants to burn the Qur'an, he gets threatened by the U.S. government!

But like I said, I'm just waiting for s**t to hit the fan.

But it is the extremist side that give those people the bad stereotypes, just like WBC is giving Baptists a very bad out take. Technically, they should not even be called a "church" because they are going against absolutely everything that the bible teaches. I'm sure they are not part of any Christian board, but the is no board that will step in to stop them. Just like the extremists Muslims. They aren't really part of an organization that will stop them. Plus, the others are probably too scared to do anything.

except in the case of muslims, extremism is fast on it's way to becoming the norm.
soon a peaceful muslim will be unheard of except for those who have given in to western culture and are hardly devout enough to be considered muslim anymore.

at least WBC arent hacking off people's heads with a dull as ******** AK bayonet or stoning women to death. but they're still evil and hate me among the rest of the world, so ******** 'em.

Islamic extremists aren't true muslims. They say that they've declared a "Jihad", however they're violating every single law of Jihad. They even refuse to conduct diplomacy, which means that it isn't even a true Jihad, thus they aren't true muslims because they are not fulfilling the word of Muhammed (Pbuh) or Allah.

I do agree with you though; extremism is definitely on the rise.

But if someone is going directly against their religion then they obviously are not of that religion. I know it's hard for some of us to see that, but here it is very clear who the extremists are. With a culture and religion that is still very different it will be harder. Not that I agree with the way "normal" Muslims treat their women and go about justice. It's just a culture tthat is very different from ours. And slowly changing.

well one of the main problems with islam is that it's generally incompatible with the rest of the world. that's why you see them pushing so hard to make the rest of the world like theirs....

they are fighting to change the laws in europe and places in the US to establish the primitive and outdated sharia law where it's OK to cut off hands and other limbs for minor offenses, makes it ok to stone people, and forces women to cover themselves completely among other revocations of individual freedom.

the other problem with islam is that it's just naturally violent and hateful as the koran demands it.

I don't know of any of that going on, but I don't think the Quran is requiring violence in the religion. Just like Christian's interpret the bible differently, there could be different sects that interpret the Quran differently, making them extremists, just like Christian extremists. *shrugs* I haven't heard too much about Islam trying to change laws so...
