Diving/SwimmingCorissa is an avid swimmer but her real talent rests in diving. She has won several medals in her youth (especially high school) for partaking in competitive diving. Just because her parents believe education comes first does not mean Corissa has abandoned her love for the sport that filled her youth. On weekends when she is free, Corissa is at the community pool practicing. She wants to keep up her talent until she gets out of high school so she can hopefully compete in the Olympics. Yet, with studying always consuming her free time by the mouthfuls and her caretakers the constant monkey on her back, she hardly even has time to do what she loves best.

Day walksHigh school life is stressful. As a student, Corissa is always worrying about common student things such as when she is to finish her homework, what she got on her last assignment and what chores need to be completed next before the day is done. True, these things are common for any matured person but everyday is a battlefield to not have them consume her very being. Corissa has embraced the power of relaxation when her life becomes too stressful. By heading down to the local metro park, she can take a walk and get some much needed air. Sometimes she gets so lost in her day walks she forgets time and spends the whole day people watching.
•
ChoirCorissa does not have much faith in her singing, but does partake in after school recitals in Crystal to pass the time. Her adoptive mother has always been one to chagrin at her daughter when she spends her time home, so she has taken up the club-like activity only to suit her parent's sighs.
Virtues:•
[+] Come and sit a while (sociable)It doesn't matter who you are, what you are, what you have done or haven't done, Corissa will be there for you to rant to, ask for advice about something, or just strike up a little chat with. The college student finds herself to have an certain attachment with other human beings and finds the only way to exploit that bond is with conversation. By conversing with others, she believes she opens up new doors to finding out more of who they are and what makes them special. This also ticks along with her curious nature. Talking with someone makes them more open for her to find about what makes that person certainly different from everyone else. Truth be told, Corissa is neutral and accepting of most personalities she comes across. However, if the person is a heartless, conceded, simply arrogant jerk, Corissa will not tolerate them.
•
[+] Cold hands, warm heart (kind)Corissa has a mild disposition and many have remarked her as having a kind soul. She's one to do anything for anyone -- open a door for an elderly lady, help a blind person to get onto and off of an escalator, helping a distraught mother with a crying child, or even make a personal visit to a friend who is ill. Corissa will find time to do anything asked of her, even if she has to drop what she is doing to get that deed done. So long as the feat is humanly possible, of course. If it is something unheard of or completely vulgar, it doesn't take her much to muster up a no. Nevertheless, Corissa tends to aerate a certain pleasant and warmth towards others no matter who they are. With this comes certain tenderness and concern for those in need. Though her hands may be cold and numb from shoveling snow for a bedridden neighbor, the heart within her bosom will always be warm.
•
[+] It's better to give than receive (generous)Forgot your lunch? Have half of Corissa's. Forgot your money? Let Corissa pay for it. Corissa believes that the greatest gift to gift another is the gift of oneself. Giving oneself, so Miss Diver believes, epitomizes the virtue of generosity to its highest point. By cutting away the avaricious nature of other human beings slowly, Corissa finds she betters the world and it's children (even if it only slightly). Yet, to Corissa, that is quite enough. So long as her legacy of generosity is somehow imprinted on another and betters them, she is content. Remember though: her generosity towards someone depends greatly on their character. If the other is an intolerable (excuse me)
a*****e, they will get nothing from her.
•
[+] Beauty in all (accepting) Corissa is capable of seeing beauty of well, almost everything. From the continuous dripping of a faucet to the palpable tone of a lie, she can see what makes them remarkable. Even if her own human kind, she can look straight at a person and find what truly makes them unique and an individual. Due to this, she strays away from stereotypes and the like, believing that everyone is their own person and not a item that is tagged and listed.
•
[+] No fear of the unknown (curious) Miss Maris has no fear of what exists beyond the horizon of those questionable and unknown to human knowledge. If given the chance, this firecracker will burst through with great elation to discover an answer unknown to herself. This has made her a philomath, as her seeking for knowledge is overcome by the amount of questions she asks herself. She dubs school to be her second home, claiming her actual home is only a haven for sleep and nothing more.
Flaws: •
[-] Please tell me I am not alone (clingy)Corissa needs some sort of company by her side, constantly. She has a fear of being left alone . . . of being forgotten by the world and dying somewhere abandoned with no one by her side. Though much of an extreme thought, Corissa has convinced herself such a future has a high percentage of occurring. Instead of choosing to face the obstacle head on from the induced thought, Corissa expresses her worry through bouts of depression. Through her depression, she tends to push people away thus making her fear much more a reality. When her lack of attention is stressed beyond its extreme (as in, stretched passed her bout of depression), her want will turn into a greedy craving for another. Her personality morphs from that of a mild attitude to a feverish disposition as want for attention ticks through her mind. This part of her is truly frightening and tends to scare people away, making her long for another embodiment of humanity all the more and fueling her desire to just grab someone by the shoulders and yell, "Pay attention to me!".
•
[-] I'll do whatever you want (passive)Following what was stated above, Corissa wishes greatly for someone to tell her that the world has not forgotten her. She will do whatever it takes to be recognized and acknowledged by others. From this, she would do whatever it takes to get a "Thanks Corissa." or "You're awesome Corissa!". Many around her has taken advantage of her overly giving nature and stressed it to disturbing edges. Requests such as "Can you finish my history report pleeeease?" and "You'll treat all ten of us to dinner right? Right?" are just some of the things asked of her. Of course, all these requests were met with a yes just so she can be acknowledged. The girl does have a brain though and
can make just decisions depending upon what is asked of her. Like stated, if the task asked is inhumanely possible or completely vulgar, there is a chance she will deny the request.
•
[-] Looking for the good (naive)Corissa is always looking for the good in one's heart. Due to this, she has succumbed to being extremely naive and trusting of people far too quickly. It doesn't take long for one to reel her into their trap. She's like a fish who swims for the first piece of bait it sees. Some might believe she purposely sets herself up for some pranks pulled on her. In truth, she is just so oblivious to such things she never sees them coming.
•
[-] I am if I am told (perfectionist) Corissa is hard on herself when it comes to anything; be it schoolwork, athletic practices, or even simple things such as chores. She has pumped into her noggin that she must
always excel, excel, excel. Purposely, she deprives herself of self satisfaction by picking out the most smallest mistakes in anything she does, never satisfied. By doing so, she makes herself a target so others can baby her and tell her what a great job she has done. She wants greatly to be known as a talented individual and finds the only way to obtain that outcome is to have someone tell her she is one.
