Trekking around the island in boots as opposed to sneakers probably hadn't been the smartest idea, but Tera wasn't about to wait around for the rest of her stuff to arrive. Besides, sneakers would never go with her skirt and stocking combo. And if there was anything Tera cared about it was her uncommon taste in clothing. Which explained the long sleeves and scarf even though it was spring. Of course coming from Florida, Nirvani's spring was nothing. And the boots were such a big deal either. They were actually incredibly comfortable boots.
Brushing her long curly hair back from her face Tera looked around herself, reorienting. Spotting the sign she was looking for Tera started moving again, a satisfied gleam in her eye. She passed through the farm's entrance and stopped once more. Catching sight of a bulletin board advertising the fruits in season. She placed herself in front of the sign and read the list with growing hunger. She placed a slender hand on her tummy as it growled at her. Most people wouldn't have chosen to go to a fruit farm on their second day on the island... but Tera had a thing for fruit.

A tall pale blonde Russian man, with blue-violet eyes was busy turning on the watering system he had put in for his farm. It was extensive and had taken him two weeks -not including plans before that- to assemble it, with professional help and put it in the ground. Where Aleksey got his money from you.. probably didn't want to know. You where either poor in Russia.. or rich.. and usually rich meant you had your hands in some.. dirty schemes. Either way. Things were in full bloom and ripe, but in order to keep the crops producing fruit it needed water and fertilizer. With a WHOOSH the sprayers turned on and started watering the various fruit plants. And they began their usual. Tick tick tick WHIIIIIR cycle that was oh so soothing to the Russian. Sighing with a smile on his face, Aleksey adjusted the scarf around his neck and looked to the sky. A nice clear day, at it was still early for an adventure. But no.. this time he shouldn't follow after some chipmunk and get lost from his farm. He, had enough of that from yesterday. Today would be tending to his house today. And those beautiful sunflowers that kept popping up around his house.

The sound of sprinklers coming on had Tera looking up and around, large blue eyes wide in momentary fear for her clothing. Sure she wasn't anywhere near the plants yet, but better safe than sorry. And now that she was certain her clothes were safe and seeing as she had finished reading the sign, she decided to investigate the sprinklers and the fruit plants.
Clasping her hands behind her back she turned away from the signs and headed toward the whirring sound of sprinklers. She tried to identify the plants closest to her as she walked, but honestly, as much as she loved to eat the stuff, she didn't know enough to pick them apart... unless they were bearing fruit... like theses were.
A movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention and Tera turned quickly to catch the blur of movement. Luckily the sprinklers were keeping her from venturing to far into the plants, otherwise she might have missed the man that was walking in the other direction. She unclasped her hands to raise on to block out the sun and watched him for a moment before deciding he looked competent enough to be working here.
Good enough for her. She took off in a light jog to catch up to him. "Excuse me.... Sir?" Tera raised her voice in the hopes of catching his attention before he disappeared into the plants or something.

"Excuse? What for?" Aleksey said as he turned partially to face the girl who had come up to him. Her voice had stopped him in his tracks. Not that he had been going very far.. just to admire the sunflowers.. that's all. Of course now that he was near them, along with some bee's, he paused to pay attention to the girl. She was younger but pretty too. There were alot of pretty women here.. and so friendly. The men... he wasnt so sure about. Aleksey shook his head and dismissed the thought. He smiled and held up a gloved hand in greeting. "Pryvet. Im Aleksey... this is my fruit farm. You wanting some fruits?" Aleksey said to her gently.

Oh good. She had gotten his attention. And he was stopping for her. She slowed out of the jog into a fast walk, only slowing down when she was about to stop. She raised her own hand to return his greeting as she came to a stop a few feet away from him. She tilted her head back and to llok up at him. He was a lot taller now that she was closer to him. A whole foot taller than her in fact. But she didn't have time to worry about that now.
"Pryvet?" She repeated, confused. She raised an eyebrow, or would have if she could, but she couldn't, so instead she just blinked at him a few times. What did private have to do with anything? Was she tresspassing? It was a place to buy fruits right? "Uhm..." she started somewhat timidly, then figured if she was in the wrong she might as well be wrong confidently, She squared her shoulders and lifted her chin, not like it changed anything, he was so tall. "Yes. Yes I was wanting some fruits..." She said with a nod. Then sort of deflated a bit and gave him a half smile. "I can buy fruit here right? This isn't like a private farm?"

"Private?" Aleksey blinked for a few moments in silence. Private.. this place wasnt private. Especially to a Russian. Communism, no one really had ANY privacy, so to even hear the word was strange, let alone him thinking of the concept. Why would she think he had said the place was private? Private.. privet... "Oh Pryvet! Nyet this place is not of privates. Pryvet means Hello in Russia." Aleksey said as he smiled cheerfully. "You saw sign, da? What fruits are you to be wanting?" Aleksey asked gently. "Should we taking walk? You see, you want, you buy?" Aleksey offered to the girl.

"Ohhhh. I see. That explains the accent as well then." She said seriously, before her features smoothed out into a grin. "In that case. Hello Aleksey. I'm Tera. And yes I did see your sign." She turned to motion back the way she had come from where she had been reading the sign. She turned back, clasping her hands behind her back and rocked back and forth on her feet. "But I think taking a walk would be better." She said with a nod. "Because your right. I can't know what I'm hungry for until I see it and then I can buy it." She said the last with a laugh. She liked his accent she decided, as she waited for him to lead the way.

Aleksey nodded and pointed to where they would be heading. He started leading the way, only to come to the sprinkler system. He turned it off before looking back to Tera. "It may being wet. Sorry, the fruits are thirsty alot." Aleksey said with a light chuckle. He then lead the way into the fields, Everything was ripe and abundant.. exactly how much of each fruit had he planted?! There were rows upon rows of fruit baring trees and bushes. They would go through the apricots, then the peaches, the nectarines, the strawberries, the blue-black-raspberries and finally come out to a field of Green medicinal Herbs. "Its funny you know?" Aleksey said as he took Tera through the fields. "I plant these not long ago. And they sprouting up so fast. Like magic." Aleksey said as he stopped and turned to Tera, halfway through the tour of his grounds. "Its like they wanting to be growing so big and tall. And all the fruits are being so ripe and sweet. Its like the land is possessed with growing sprites. Also the house.. i didnt need to be putting any electrics in it. The lights.. there arent any wires going to any power plants. And yet i plugs something in at the house and it works. Isnt that weird? So weird..." Aleksey said with a creepy look coming to his eye, but his cheerful smile through you off.

Tera laughed along with Aleksey as they headed into the fields for a tour of the fruit. Eyes widening at the delisious looking fruit that was still glistening with water droplets from the recently cut off sprinklers, Tera was happy just to look. Her tummy however, rumbled hungrily as the paced each section, each one more yummy looking than the last.
Ter was just about to tell Aleksey how good his fruit looked but he spoke instead, coming to a stop somewhere in the middle of his fields. Tera stopped as well and turned to glance up at her companion, hands still clapsed behind her in an old habit against toushing everything. The smile given in anticipation of Aleksey's story faltered as his tale continued. Aleksey was giving her an incredibly creepy look topped off with a smile that made him creepier... if possible. Quick! She needed an adult! Tera looked at Aleksey again. Okay, she needed another adult. Oh, why had she gone out on her own? What kind of 14 year old went wandering into vast feilds of fruit with a stange man? A hungry 14 year old that's who.
Tera momentarily considered telling Aleksey that her brother was coming to get her in a few minutes, then realized that's what people said in the movies. And the bad guys always new they were lying. Crap. Think Tera, think!
"That face makes you look a little creepy, did you know that?" She asked, eyes wide and owlish as she realized what she had asked. Oh well. No turning back now. "I mean it goes great with the lights without electricity thing, but yeah. Totally creepy." She said seriously.

Aleksey's smile ceased as did the odd look in his eyes. "Oh!" He said in shock he hadnt meant to be.. what was it? Creepy? Yes he hadnt meant to be that. "I am to being sorry. I didnt mean to scare. I did not meaning to be making face. I am sorry." Aleksey said gently with a light frown and concern in his eyes. He didnt mean to freak her out honestly. He didnt even know he was making any creepy faces or looks. "I am sorry." He said for a third time as he bowed slightly to the young girl. "I was just thinking how odd it is... i-" Aleksey said gently but his voice trailed off and his gaze dropped to the ground. What else could he say? "I do not mean to be.. ah.. Creep." He said softly and with a frown, not entirely understanding what the word meant but he had understood that it had upset the woman and scared her.

"Oh. I... er... Well, darn." She said aloud, the corners of her lips turning down into a frown. She hadn't meant to hurt his feelings. Well, if he was a serial killer or something she would have meant to hurt his feelings, but if he was a serial killer his feelings wouldn't have been hurt by that. Would it? He would have just killed her or something... would he? Crap. This is why she needed to stop watching so many scraing movies. They made you untrusting. She took a deep breath in then blew it out. "I'm sorry, Aleksey. That was... rude of me." But no one had ever accused her of having tact. "You aren't a creep. Your smile after that weird talk just wierded me out a little. I just watch to many scary movies." She gave him an apologetic smile. "I... shouldn't have said anything." She said with a sigh, looking down at the ground and kicking at the dirt. Great. It was her first day and already she was alienating people. Her sister was going to give her that disappointed look she often reserved for Parker, and Parker was going to laugh at her. Well, not outright, but he would be laughing. "I really am sorry for being so rude."

Aleksey smiled and looked back up at Tera when she apologized. "Ah. Its is okay, da?" Aleksey reached out and patted Tera's shoulder with his big ol gloved hand. "We continue with tour?" He said more than asked. "You wanting fruits, we havent finished tour. We finish now and you get fruits." Aleksey said cheerfully, before he continued with the tour through his grounds. He pointed out the various fruits, naming them and stopping to look at them to see how ripe they were. He picked a few raspberries from a bush. He took Tera's hand and made it so her palm was face up. He put the raspberries in her palm and smiled. "Have them. Taste, their good, da?"

Tera smiled a little crookedly, relieved that she hadn't mad him mad or anything. In fact, he was even going to finish the tour with her and would still let her buy fruit! Sure that was how he made his money, but if she had really offended him he wouldn't let her buy fruit would he? Okay, he might. But he didn't seem upset so Tera wasn't going to worry about it. Instead she followed him on the continued tour and deciding to be on her best behavior, murmured polietly at all of his delicious looking fruit. Choosing really would be difficult, if only because she would be walking back and could not carry it all.
Tera watched him pick the berries and smiled widely as he took her hand. She brought the berries up to her face, going cross eyed as she looked at them close up. "That look fantastic!" She said exhuberantly before poping all of them straigth into her mouth. Closing her eyes she chewed slowly, letting the juice dance along her tongue. When she was finished she opened her eyes. "I don't know what strange kind of magic you and this farm have, but it's awesome! Those raspberries are perfect. I will definitely take some of those." She said excitedly, her previous fear completely gone again.

"Neither do i. But i think so too." Aleksey laughed lightly at the comment about his farm and nodded. "We getting you basket." Aleksey said as he looked around, he had them lying everywhere for just such an occassion. Ah! there was one. Aleksey crossed the path to get to the peach trees. Below one was a medium sized basket. He picked it up and looked to the peaches. He smiled to them and picked one before walking back over to Tera. "You tried this too." He said as he smiled to her and handed it. "Then you taking basket and you picking what you wanting, da?" He said as he offered her the basket as well. She could fill it with the fruit she wanted and pay for it once she was done picking.
