Jacqueline stood between the dark forest and the lush green bushes that grew within the meadow just next to the forest. She wondered if it was really a good idea to go through this forest just for the sake of her journey. Her journey might end up being all for nothing and she wasn't sure if it was worth enough to risk her life. "Why...." Jacqueline said as she mentally shook her hoof at the sky. Her journey was about finding her inner peace and hopefully she would be able to get over anxiety. However, there was no guarantee that it would even work. A small sigh escaped her lips as she closed her eyes in thought. It felt like forever since she had left the safe haven of Victoria's kingdom. In reality it had only been a couple weeks since she had left, but as much as she didn't want to admit it, she was becoming homesick. "Maybe I should have asked Taja or Victoria to come with me." She said to herself quietly. Jacqueline opened her eyes and looked up slightly at the dark forest. Who knew what evil creatures lurked within it's boarders. Was there skinwalkers? Kalona's? Mutants? Jacqueline shivered in fear. Why did she have to be so afraid of everything? It wasn't fair!
Jacqueline breathed a breath of frustration and paced back and forth in front of the forest. What would be her next move? If she was attacked while in the forest it would be unlikely she would be able to do something for herself since she had never faught someone before and more then likely they have. Maybe she should wait and learn how to fight before she went inside. But who knew how long that would take and she wasn't entirely sure if she would even be able to fight. "Why am I so useless?" Jacqueline asked the sun with sadness lacing her voice.

His hooves made thick dull thuds as he walked along the edge of the herd's border. He'd been eying for intruders, watching for those that might come back. A voice in the distance caught his ears causing them to perk. Was there some other soquili up ahead? Only one way to find out, he thought as he continued to draw closer, hooves thudding against the fallen tree limbs and forest floor as he drew closer to where he'd heard the voice.((#5C5858 ))

Jacqueline's ears perked up as she heard loud hoofs hitting the ground. She quickly hid behind one of the trees that was right within the tree line of the dark forest. Her breath caught in her chest as she waited for whoever it was to appear. Oh gosh, what am I gonna do? What if it is one of those dark creatures? Jacqueline thought to herself as she laid down and covered herself as best as she could so if whoever it was tried to hurt her she would not be injured to badly. Jacqueline waited in silence for the soquili to show itself and she hoped and begged the sky to not let her be found by whoever it was.

It didn't take him long to break the treeline. He scanned the area beyond from behind the lazy haphazard mop that was his forelock. He didn't see anything out of the sorts.. not that he wasn't capable of handling himself. He was big even for a draft but then.. so were his daughters. Ears flicking about, he waited as he looked around, slowly creeping further out of the tree line and into the open grass ahead.

Jacqueline looked up and noticed from where she was laying there was a HUGE stallion. A loud gasp escaped her lips before she could stop it. After she realized she had gasped outloud she quickly crawled as fast as she could away from the stallion just in case he decided she was a threat. And she couldn't really blame him since she seemed to be up to no good hiding on the ground. Jacqueline didn't breath as she waited for the stallion to leave.

His head turned to the sound of the gasp. A rumbling deep chuckle escaped him. It had sounded like a foal caught lurking off guard. "Merte? If you're to sneak up on your ol man then you might as well come out now." He watched, waiting to see if the individual would show it's self. It didn't smell like Merte was around... but one never could tell with that yearling mare.

Jacqueline heard the stallions laugh and instantly felt like passing out. It had to be laughing because it knew it would kill her soon. "Oh god." She said as she quickly jumped up and ran as fast as she could into the dark forest with her eyes closed. After several seconds of running she ran into a large elder tree and hit the ground with a large thud. Jacqueline was knocked out cold and looked like she was a noodle because her whole body was loose looking.

He looked confused as the flash of colors ran by. "What was that?" Shaking his head, he thought to go after the blur, find out just who it had been. He crept slowly, looking for what/who it had been that ran by. He hadn't meant to scare them. It didn't take long till he stumbled upon the tree and the still form of a mare. Blinking, he shook his mane from his face and crept closer. Sniffing at the mare, he lowered his head and stretched out his neck to lightly nudge her.

Jacqueline awoke groggily from the stallions nudge. "Uhh... What happen---" She had begun to say before she realized the stallion was not only close but standing right over her. "AHHHHHH!" She screamed as she pulled her head into her legs. "Don't hurt me! I'm sorry!" Jacqueline said as she squinted her eyes closed in an attempt to pretend the stallion was there. "I.... I didn't mean to." Jacqueline replied.

He sighed and shook his head. "My dear lady.. I don't know what you've heard about this area.. but You needn't fear. I'm not going to hurt you. I'm big and scary looking I guess.. but really I'm as gentle as a ladybug." He took a few steps back to allow her to calm down and not feel like he was going to just hurt her. "I'm Shilo by the way.. Are you alright miss?"

As soon as the stallion backed up a bit Jacqueline jumped up and hid behind the tree, only letting her head show. "I highly doubt that!" She said looking at the stallion. "You're near the dark forest, meaning you can not be a good creature. And look at you!" Jacqueline said as she shook. "You could and probably will eat me in one gulp." Jacqueline said as she tried to calm herself down. She could feel her heart beating in her chest and knew that if she didn't calm down shortly she would end up passing out from the anxiety attack. "Oh my." Jacqueline said as she rested her head on the tree. "Did I hit something?" She asked more to herself then to the stallion. "My name?" Jacqueline asked as she looked up at the stallion who had called himself Shilo. "Jacqueline..." She responded, but only so that he would know her name in case she should pass out and hopefully he would try and wake her.

He couldn't help but to laugh. Did she honestly think he ate meat? "I hate to disappoint you... but I don't eat meat only grass and other vegetation some times fruit or nuts but never meat. Besides... The herd I belong to is in this forest, and they're all nice caring soquili. Though I will admit that there are sometimes the more.. sinister creatures that lurk in these woods.. We have only had one attack..." He waited for her to calm as he spoke in gentle soothing deep tones with a voice thick and rich like molasses if it had a sound. As he spoke, he offered her one of his more goofy, lopsided grins.

Jacqueline watched as the stallion laughed. "But.... But this is the dark forest and you are so.... sooo..... soooooo..... you!" She said as she gestured to all of him. "And one attack is supposed to make me feel better?" Jacqueline said as she fell down. Her head swayed from side to side as the pain from her hitting the tree finally hit her. "My head.." Jacqueline put her head between her hoofs in an attempt to make it stop. "Why would you live in a place so dark and scary?" Jacqueline asked honestly.

"It's not really so dark and scary when you get use to it." He took a step forward in case she needed any help. "Are you alright? Do you need from bark to dull the pain of hitting your head?" He didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable but he didn't want her to pass out. "Think you could walk some??? Perhaps the cool water will help to clear your head?"

Jacqueline began to shake her head, however, she stopped herself because her head began to pound like a drum. "Ouccccchhhhh." She said as she looked up pitifully at him. "I have anxiety attacks and that is why I feel the need to pass out." Jacqueline stood up successfully, but need to lay up against the tree in order to stay up. "I think I can walk... But not on my own." She said laying her head up against the tree. "I'll be fine. Just leave." Jacqueline said as she began to slump back down again.
