She hadn't been home in awhile, but that sort of happens when you fall head over heels for someone and end up spending all your time with them. The colorful soq was now waiting on her father though, neatly standing where once upon a time he had taught her how to heal. She was smiling beneath that mask she wore, and her wings spread every once in awhile. If her father saw her from afar, he'd know that she was happy and just shifting around waiting for him. Roxanna was never good at sitting still for very long. What would happen exactly? Would her father scold her? Or would he truly be happy for her? And what would he say when she told him that they were talking about having little ones of their own? He'd be a grandfather one day. Roxanna wondered how he'd react to THAT information more than anything else.

 The stallion was thrilled to be meeting with his daughter. It had seemed ages since he'd last seen the filly... or mare rather. He had to stop thinking of her as a child! He knew the place well that they would meet and his heart was warmed with the old memories of the place. The area came into view as he flew closer. He was high in the air and did a few lazy circles around the place as he descended. He spotted his daughter easily enough - it's hard to miss his baby girl! He landed some distance away from her so as not to kick up a bunch of dirt in her face. He walked briskly over and nuzzled her affectionately. "How lovely you are today Roxy!" He took a few steps back to take her in. "You look well! How have things been going? And why haven't you come to see me more?"

Roxanna didn't have to wait long before her father appeared. She was instantly nervous because she hadn't seen him in such a long time... and because of Eh? What had caused her to run off and do such a thing?! Her father would understand love though, he loved her mother dearly. She was nuzzled the moment he showed up, and the daddy's girl quickly returned the gesture.
"You look well! How have things been going? And why haven't you come to see me more?"
Ha, straight to the point! There was no point in beating around the bush with her father. She raised her chin, a thing she did when she was about to be willful. And very willful at that.
"I fell in love. I'm sorry I haven't been around much father, but I lost all sense of time and didn't realize how long it had been since I had seen you and mother. Everything has been amazing and wonderful. How are things with mother and brother?"
Very matter of fact, run of the mill voice and attitude. Oh hows the weather been daddy? I'm in love, and probably got lifemated. I suppose our sporting team lost eh? Just calm as water in her voice, even if her chin was raised. This should be interesting.

The stallion was taken aback and left speechless. He regarded his daughter strangely, almost as if seeing her for the first time. My, but she has grown up.... He was overcome with a helplessness that he didn't fully understand. He took a step back from her and narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "You aren't with foal.... are you?" Falling in love was one thing.... but he needed to know that love was what had happened and not lust. "And where is this stallion? Don't you think your family should meet him?" His tone was calm, if a little scolding. He wanted the whole story before he gave her the full force of his will. He could tell there was something serious about this situation, more than just a young mare falling in love the first time.

If her mask had been off she might have blushed. But she wasn't a young filly anymore, and if there was one thing Roxanna was, it was being stubborn. Such a stubborn mare.
"No father, I am not with foal. Not to say I won't be in the future, but currently I'm not. I rather thought I'd wait a bit more before trying that bit."
Well, it wasn't for lack of trying, but her father didn't need to know that. His tone, oh she had expected that. This was her daddy after all. And she was willing to be scolded a bit before introducing her stallion to the onslought of her family.
"He has no idea I'm meeting you. I've told him plenty about you, and the rest of the family, but I didn't want him to be cross questioned by you and mother the first time you meet him. I thought it best to ease into this."
She did feel bad, a tiny bit. At least for her father. Out of her entire family, Roxanna had always been closest with her father. She was a daddy's girl if there ever was one. Her tail twitched and her eyes danced though, something she did as a filly when she was full of mischeif. It happened often enough.
"I didn't exactly plan on it, it just sort of happened suddenly. I'm sure you understand, daddy."
Ha. Like calling him that was going to save her.
