It had been a long, bumpy road for Klyde and Desmond over these past few months. Many things had happened... Many good things... More bad things... But through most of that time, the two vampires had barely had an opportunity to hang out like they usually did.
Either Klyde was hanging out with Riyo and Blade or Desmond was keeping Mitsu company...
But tonight the two had lucked out and found a gap in their schedules. About time.
Tossing on a casual shirt, Desmond glanced over at Klyde. "So, where are you taking me tonight?" he asked his cousin teasingly. "Gonna treat me as good as your girlfriend?" It felt good to be able to joke about those things every once in awhile, even though both of there situations were a little on the serious side.

"Oh yeah, I'll love you up real good after," Klyde joked back as he threw on his shirt. Something black with skulls....that was the majority of what he owned it seemed.
"I dunno, I thought we might go to Akiko's and hang out for a bit. Get some drinks. Like old times." Klyde mused as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a couple of plastic cards. "Here you might need this. I took the liberty of picking you out an awesome name."
Tossing the card toward Desmond, Klyde chuckled over his own before he pocketed it. They were going to be quite the duo with names like Ben Dover and Howie Feltersnatch. "So are you ready?"

"You better." Desmond said with a smile and grabbed the piece of plastic as it was tossed at him. "Gee, I wonder what you-" Desmond's words trailed off when the name 'Feltersnatch' was staring him directly in the face. "Oh Christ Klyde... Way to be obvious." The vampire sighed, though he couldn't hide a smirk. Probably one of the better fake ID's he'd been handed.
Taking a short moment, Desmond removed the wallet from his back pocket and slid the fake ID over his real one before shoving it back in and starting for the door. "Shall we, Mr..." He hadn't gotten to see Klyde's ID yet.

"Hey I thought long and hard about that name," Klyde grinned grabbing his wallet shortly to make sure he had some cash. Money wasn't as abundant as it use to be but he had more than enough to have a few drinks. Pocketing the item Klyde headed for the door.
"Oh, Ben Dover." He chuckled. Apparently he got a kick out of it. "I gave you the good one though. I honestly found that one in the phone book."
Heading out the door of their dorm Klyde waited only shortly for Desmond to fall into step before he started down the hall. "So how is everything coming with you and Mitsu? Have you showed her...you know...your back?" On top of the fact they didn't spend much time together there wasn't a lot of information exchange.

Desmond wasn't sure if Klyde had made the "long and hard" comment on purpose, but it got a laugh out of him nonetheless. Though he didn't believe his cousin had actually found it in a phone book.
"Ah." Unconsciously, Desmond scratched his shoulder, the feeling of his shirt rubbing the scar tissue still a little alien. "Yeah. It was just like you thought it would be." He said in a relieved tone as he fell into step next to Klyde. "She was her usual accepting self. I guess I really shouldn't have been that surprised."
Which reminded him. "Ah... How're things going with Riyo's father? Is he still a complete douche to you?"

"Untrained bears are more likely to perform Swan Lake in its entirety than we are at getting along. I guess its to counter balance since my family really doesn't like Riyo. Except Claire." Though Claire was the exception to most things about their family. She was cute, sweet, innocent, and fairly easy to get along with. That couldn't be said...about anyone else.
"But it's good to hear you didn't have any issues." Klyde said as they finally left the dorm taking the path toward town. "Did Mitsu ever really remember anything? She seemed fuzzy on the details. Does she know who the guy in the alley might have been?" It had Klyde fairly curious. It was a hell of a lot of s**t to go through and not even know their attacker.

Desmond generally added 'except Claire' to anything that had to do with Klyde's family anyways. He'd been jealous of the little girl at first, considering Klyde had been his only real friend and his attention had to be divided between them, but she really was adorable. Very hard to stay mad at.
When Klyde asked about the incident, Desmond seemed to quiet. "I'm... Not sure." He answered reluctantly. "A lot of things from that night don't add up... But Shun said that it was her brother. You know, the one who's been missing for so long..."
After a few seconds, he added: "And I don't know if she really thinks it's not him, or if she's trying to convince herself it wasn't..."

Klyde nodded a bit, he did remember Desmond telling him that Mitsu's brother had gone missing around Halloween. That was a tough break with all the s**t that had gone down because of Nami and Tessa....and him and Desmond. They could have done some crucial damage, it still plagued Klyde's mind to think about that.
"That would be pretty messed up if it turned out to be her brother. I wonder what could have happened?" It wasn't something Klyde expected an answer to. It was more of a question just thrown to the wind.
"Your family seem to like Mitsu okay?" Klyde figured they would. His mother and father, while good friends and family with Desmond's parents, thought of them as a little....unhinged to put it kindly. They didn't understand the obsession with being human when being a vampire had a much greater benefit.

"I don't know..." Desmond sighed... Though he had his speculations. None of which he liked very much. How much of the tragedies did Suto have a hand in, he wondered.
"Oh, of course." Snapping that train of thought in half, Desmond looked back up at his cousin and shot him a 'that was an obvious question' look. "I'm sure the only kind of girl they'd have a problem with is another vampire." Which made him wonder why he'd never brought one home to spite his parents before. It sounded petty enough that it probably would've been up his alley earlier in life...
"I think they like her too much, honestly..." He hated to recall this, but... "The first night I had her over. THE FIRST NIGHT. They started talking about marriage. Then grandchildren. They're ******** insane... Sometimes I think I'd rather they disliked the idea and left me to my business than praise me for everything..." Though he imagined Klyde was the opposite.

"Marriage? The first night you had her over? Holy s**t, Aunt Lily and Uncle Ed really know how to jump the gun. And then to follow that up with grandkids?" Klyde chuckled a little at Desmond's expense. It had worked out in the end obviously, but the thought was rather funny. He knew how over the top and out there his Aunt and Uncle were. Their house was an epic blast from the past.
"I think the mention of children would have probably sent Riyo running for the hills, so better you than me. But at least your parents like her..." And he wanted to add that she didn't have parents to contend with but perhaps that was a little too cruel. Though if it had been her brother who had attacked them in the ally Desmond was in for one hell of a bumpy ride.

"Yeah, well, the real surprising thing is that Mitsu took it better than I did." Desmond pointed out, taking a moment to imagine Klyde in his situation. That made him feel better about it, at least.
Speaking of parents.. "So, have the paparazzi been merciless to the two of you so far?" He'd heard Klyde mention them here and there, but so far the details had eluded him. A fan of the media he was not, so he strayed away from magazines, newspapers, and television in general.

Klyde gave a heavy sigh, his hand running through the lightly gelled curls on his head. His hair was getting a little long he was going to have to cut it soon. "Merciless to Riyo and I...not so much. Riyo and the janitor however."
He hated to think about it, it made him mad all over again. He didn't care much for Neko anyway but for Riyo to be mistaken as his fiance made him rather pissed. "Some guy popped up when Riyo and her dad were over at Neko's and snapped some pictures. It was posted in a few magazines 'Daughter of Rock Star cleaning the house of her future husband?' " He quoted one of the headlines, his eyes showing that he was less than pleased about it.
"I don't even know why she goes over there in the first place. She just says she owes him for a favor that's why she cleans around the house. My family keeps hounding me because they keep telling me she's cheating with an older guy and her family.....well they just think I'm pretty worthless." It was all wearing down on that strong confidence Klyde used to have. He felt rather pathetic but he wasn't sure what to do about it.

Desmond's face slowly changed from slightly amused to concerned. Oh. He definitely wasn't expecting that.
"Ouch..." Desmond mumbled and cringed at the headline. He'd had no idea that things were so harsh in the relationship department. Even moreso that both families seemed against him.
"Well... What does she think?" Klyde had always done his best to boost Desmond's confidence, so the vampire figured it was his turn this time.

"Well...she's still with me." Klyde's face looked sadly amused. "She did stand up for me against her grandfather and so far has completely ignored her father who keeps telling her to 'ditch the leech'." Her was certain the vocalist would never stop telling her either. Ever since Klyde hit him in the face that was the end of that. "Oh, on that thought." Klyde reached into his back pocket and pulled out a clipping from a magazine. It was a picture of him nailing Jess in the face. It still lightened his day. "That is a bit of a souvenir. You can probably guess how my Dad reacted."

"Well, I guess that's what matters, isn't it?" At least there was that.
Quirking an eyebrow as Klyde pulled a piece of paper, Desmond glanced down at the clipping and snickered. "I'm sure you can get that blown up and made into a poster." Though he wasn't sure how much his girlfriend would appreciate that... Or his father.
Seeing the bar just ahead, Desmond tried to think of the last time they'd been. It was before they'd realized how stupid they were, wasn't it? "Damn... It's been awhile..."
