Alternate to re-releasing Fortune's Favor?

      Kay, so. JK's said they're re-releasing Fortune's Favor.

      I, personally, hate this idea.

      It's screwing over investors, who bought up Fortunes Favor rings with the expectation, rightfully so, that it would not be released again.
      These are the same investors who are spending Cash on zOMG! Buddies, supporting the game, in the hopes of making a profit after they are no longer available.

      However, I have practically no idea what else could be offered, besides, well, nothing.
      The team doesn't have the time to make a new ring, obviously.
      I was discussing it with a few people.
      We didn't come up with much.
      Does anyone else have any ideas?

Hm... All I can think of is to disable the recipe and buy some extra time to make a new thing.

Not sure what the devs would be able to do by the end of May... nor what the community would do if they had to wait for their Golden Egg 2k11 to hatch.

      Given that they did that with both the Golden Egg and Cursed Pumpkin, I think if that were an option they would have considered it before re-releasing a ring that was supposed to be event-exclusive.

Just to push the point, why is the expectation that Fortune's Favor would be re-released "rightful"? Buying up items on the assumption that they will raise in price is called "speculation", and is always a particularly risky business endeavor. I don't personally believe that Gaia or zOMG! should always be obliged to reward speculators.

That said, I believe I've made my stance on Event Ring re-releases abundantly clear, up to now. To repeat it in more relevant terms, though: I don't believe there is any suitable alternative to re-releasing Event Rings. For every Ring with a limited supply, the game is made that much worse. If they are not willing to make regular re-releases of Event Rings, I'd rather them abandon the concept of Event Rings entirely.

I realise I'm not much help, as far as what you were actually going for, but I still felt obliged to state my position. As far as ideal Event rewards go, I'd suggest Buddies, but they've got no better chance of making a new Buddy for Easter than they have of making a new Ring. I honestly can't think of any real alternative Easter Rewards, given their situation. We've got, what? Less than a week? gonk
