Sailor Chibi Ixion was out on patrol in one of his usual haunts, the park. It was one of the few places he could easily get to as a kid, without attracting too much attention to himself. He had told his mother that he was going to go out and play kickball with some friends there; a perfectly reasonable excuse to leave the house and patrol after dinner.
The small senshi was on the look out for any signs of danger. He couldn’t sense magical aura yet, but he knew that something or someone would be pop up soon. Something always popped up. Wandering through the wooded part of the park, he thought he saw some rustling in the bushes.
All of a sudden a large jumped out, chasing a rabbit. The sudden action gave Ixion a fright. Even though it was only a domestic dog, he screamed and ran in the opposite direction. While he thought he was tough, it was easier to act that way than to really be tough when you were just a kid, alone in the dark. Ixion didn’t like being taken by surprise. As he ran through the wooden path, panting, his feet caught a low branch. In one swift motion, he tumbled down onto the leafy ground. Or so he thought.
The pile of leaves that he fell on gave way to a large net and very deep hole. Ixion fell straight into some sort of trap, maybe something a hunter set up to catch the wild rabbits. As much as he struggled, the hole was too deep and he was too tangled to free himself.
He did the only thing he could think to do, call for help. “HEEEEEEEELP!”

Captain Painite was out on her usual rounds tonight, gathering energy rather than hunting Senshi to play with. She was focusing on civilians, not using the normal kinds of bait she liked to set out for Senshi to come to investigate. Which were normally energy drained civilians. Mostly, it seemed, she was taking it 'easy' tonight, and avoiding a direct fight with a senshi.
She didn't have to be a super villain all the time, right?
Sometimes it was just nice to relax. Capture a couple humans. Drain their energy. A nice night out.
She wasn't expecting a rabbit to do her work for her, luring a target to her without her planning, nor was she expecting to feel something with an energy signature, actually powered up, moving toward her. Toward her trap. Which she had spent a lot of time enjoying herself digging.
To some the work might have been tedious, and certainly ruined a nice night out, but to Painite it had only added to the fun. If only because for every shovel of dirt she tossed she had a new image of some helpless human falling into the hole. And she knew she could cover it back with the dirt she dug, and it would be much easier to use in the future if she managed to remember the spot.
Trotting toward the hole, she was ready for a fight despite not having expected one. The thrill of catching a senshi, or so she assumed it was, by accident was too much to ignore.
"Oh, I'll help you, senshi," Painite called down mockingly, standing at the edge of the hole and kicking some dirt down at him. He had a young face, but it was too dark for her to properly see him.

Ixion felt the energy signature of the Negaverse agent before he had heard it. The dark energy was unmistakable and sent a chill down the young boy’s spine. What was he going to do!? Ixion tossed and turned in the net, desperately trying to get out.
When he saw Painite come into view and kick dirt at him, he did what any provoked kid would do. Ixion summed up all the excess saliva he had and spat towards Painite.
“Let me go! You won’t get away with this!” It was a cheesy thing to say, very cheesy. But, under the circumstances it seemed like the right thing to say. Thinking back, wasn’t that what the good guy always said to the villain in the movies? Or atleast the sidekick did. In the story of his life, Ixion was definitely the hero and now this Negaverse agent was his mortal enemy.

"A fly caught in my web!"
She laughed at that, as wickedly as she could make it sound. She was getting much better at her triumphant and mocking laughter, and it was coming very naturally to her now. At least, that's how she felt about it. To others, it might have sounded like something out of a comic book movie. She didn't mind, though. It was all part of the game she loved to play so much. And if she still got her job done, then where was the harm in having some fun?
When he spat at her, though, her amused expression fell a bit. That was just rude and gross. Sure, she had caught him in a hole and a net, but that didn't mean he had to be immature about it. She had no idea, of course, that the young victim she had managed to snare was not anywhere near her age, or even the usual mid-to-late-teen range most senshi seemed to be.
She wasn't a tall person, standing at five foot one and a bit, so perhaps her perception was a bit off.
"I think I've already gotten away with it!" She laughed, though she had to note that something in his voice sounded off. High pitched? Higher than she was expecting, at the very least. She used her weapon, the javelin, to poke down at him. Like a bear in a cage, perhaps. "I'm going to enjoy draining you dry!"

“Let me out of here! I know some big tough Sailors and they won’t like it if you keep me.” There was some truth to that. The toughest Sailor the boy had met had to be Iris, and he had certainly taken a shining to her. He wasn’t sure if the feeling was all that mutual though. Still he was certain that if he disappeared off the face of the planet, some senshi would notice him missing and come looking for him.
When the stick came down, it poked him right in the belly. He giggled slightly. At first the poking tickled, until he felt the sharp end of the javelin press into him. It punctured a small hole through his fuku. “Hey! That’s not nice”
When the stick came down again, Ixion grabbed onto it and jostled it around with all his strength, which wasn’t that much just enough to be irritating.

Painite felt like the wind was knocked out of her sails as she listened to the senshi yell at her. The things he was saying were... odd... at least she thought so. He knew some big, tough senshi who would help him? Was he so aware of his ineptitude as a senshi that he absolutely relied on others to help him?
That was no fun.
When he grabbed onto her javelin and she growled and pulled it back with all her might, expecting he would put up a better fight of it. As it turned out, she managed to pull him out of the hole and send herself stumbling backwards. She fell onto her butt and looked up at him in a hurry, holding her javelin in front of her defensively.
Then she finally realized what she was fighting.
"You're a little KID," she yelled, in as accusatory a tone as possible. There was surprise there, of course, but she seemed to be more upset with him. Like he was supposed to be older, because then she wouldn't have wasted a trap she had worked so hard on building.
It was more than a little frustrating.

When Painite pulled him out of the pit, Ixion thought that finally the Negaverse agent had seen reason. Alas, no not really. Ixion fumbled as Painite fell back, but he was quick to stand back up.
“A LITTLE KID!? I’m not little! I’m as big as you!” Ixion stood parallel to Painite, he was almost as tall as she was. He scowled at her. Ixion hated being called little, he had seen grown senshi the same height as size as him and they weren’t called ‘little’. Even this negaverse agent was short! “I might be a kid, but I can still fight!”
Ixion rushed at Painite. His small fists landed around the collar bone of her chest as he ran by her. Little devil was a fast one. Circling behind her, he called out "Ixion Coal Rush!" and sent a lump of coal flying into Painite's back.

Painite glared at the young man, but she couldn't exactly argue with him. He was, in fact, almost as tall at her. Maybe a little taller? No, definitely not. She was not shorter then some kid, damn it. She was twenty four years old!
"Oh yeah?!" Painite argued back, getting to her feet while not exactly showing her age. She wasn't too good about that, when she was caught up in the moment. "Then come fight me!"
She was not sure what to think of fighting a kid. Sure, he looked more like the regular senshi, but she knew, just knew, she couldn't convince herself that way. Sure, he was taller, or rather as tall as she was, but that did not make him as old as she was. Or even as old as the teenage senshi she was so used to fighting now.
He was still a kid, whether he pouted when she said it or not.
"Oy!" She was stunned, looking back after he hit her the first time, seeing him darting behind her. Damn little rat. "You need a time out!" She yelled angrilly, stumbling a bit when coal met her back. The Captain was not amused, and she turned to cut off his path behind her, lashing out backwards with her javelin and reaching the length of it in front of his feet in an effort to trip him.
Maybe if she roughed him up and scared him a little, he'd run away and she wouldn't have to actually hurt him. Yes, he was a senshi, but he was still a kid.

The one real benefit to being young was having an almost boundless amount of energy. Being a senshi ony amplified Ixion’s youthful nimble movements. It was really his only saving grace in battle.
He may not have been as strong as an adult, and certainly not as strong as a Negaverse captain, but boy was he ever spry. When the javelin came down near his feet, the Chibi senshi deftly jumped over it, like it was a jump rope or an obstacle in gym class.
The boy jumped around in a spritely manner, somewhat like Peter Pan in front of Captain Hook. He stuck out his tongue at Painite, mocking her.
However, no matter what he did, Ixion could not anticipate and dodge Painite’s next move.

Painite really hated how fast the kid was. Not only was he nearly as tall as she was (she was certain he wasn't taller, damn it), he was fast as lightning and had that 'I run purely on sugar' air about him. Maybe that was why Senshi recruited little kids to help them out. They were tireless and eager to prove themselves, but dumb and didn't know how dangerous it could be.
How cruel of the senshi!
The Captain, at her wit's end, was glad when he tripped on her staff and hit the ground, moving quickly to make sure he didn't get up in a hurry. Her head was swimming from watching him darting around, and she was frustrated by it. Maybe she was slightly jealous. She thought herself as a spritely young woman, but it was clear, compared to him, she had aged more than she wanted to admit.
Old at 24? How sad.
She pinned him by stepping on his stomach, putting her weight on him with one leg but not trying to crush his gut under her. Not that she could, she wasn't that powerful, but she was still bearing the 'he's a kid' fact in mind. She lashed her javelin forward, stabbing down at him but hesitating a moment before picking her target.
She couldn't hurt him. Not badly. Not kill him. She just couldn't. So she did the next best thing and aimed for something that would hurt but not cripple or kill. She essentially wussed out and stabbed the point of her javelin into his hand.
"You shouldn't be out without a chaperon, kid," she said teasingly, though her eyes flared. She rather meant it.

Ixion’s soft brown eyes welled up with tears as the spear pierced his flesh in his hands. The tip of spear came down just deep enough to put pressure on the joints of his bones, forcing his bones to shift to accommodate the weapon. He let out a wimper and tears streamed down his cheek. Ixion had been warned before by older senshi to call for back up when he ran into Negas and dangerous youmas; clearly not listening to their sage advice had its price. Ixion’s hand ached and pulsed with pain, a red pool of blood was slowly staining his white glove around the enter wound.
Ixion couldn’t say anything, he just laid on the ground, facing Painite with tears rolling down his cheeks; he just sobbed lightly. He had never broken a bone before, been stabbed or assaulted in anyway, this was the most pain he had ever felt in his young life and the boy simply didn’t know how to react.

Oh God.
He was crying.
Painite started to panic. He wasn't supposed to cry. He was supposed to get pissy with her and throw a fit, then run away! Or something! He wasn't supposed to make those big eyes at her, and she was definitely not supposed to see those tears rolling down his reddening face. Of course, how could she be surprised? She had just stabbed him in the hand with a sharp stick.
What kid wouldn't cry at that?
She pulled back, frowning at the kid. She had to let him get away without making it seem like she was letting him get away. Goddamn senshi and their goddamn kid recruitment agency! She posed, holding her javelin back like she was going to stab at him again.
"Don't cry now, little boy! There's more where that came from!!" She said, as menacingly as possible while stuffing down any glimmer of hesitance or guilt in her tone.

Ixion was a bit slow to react. When the javelin pulled away, Ixion automatically went to clutch his injured hand, holding it in his other hand tightly, cradling it really. As he laid there, tending to his wounded hand, the boy took the opportunity given to him to make an escape.
During Painite’s pause, he sent a swiftly kick to the Captain’s thighs with both feet. It just a little bit too easy to knock Painite back, but it was convincing. The boy wouldn’t have known the difference between a stage fall and a real one, or he didn’t care. Feebling pushing himself up, Ixion got up onto his feet. Before he turned to flee, he kicked Painite while she was down. Boy, it was taking her a long time to get back up. But Ixion wasn’t complaining, he turned and high-tailed it out of there.
Running back through the forest with tears still running down his cheek, Ixion powered down when he felt it safe.
How he was ever going to explain what happened to his hand was still a mystery. Hopefully Sam’s parents would buy whatever half-baked story Sam came up with on his way home.

Painite feigned slight injury when she was kicked, grunting. It was more out of frustration than anything else. Taking hits on purpose because stupid senshi recruited stupid kids that cried when they got hurt because they shouldn't have been fighting anyway.
She was feeling a bit huffy, which was unfamiliar but not unwarranted.
She watched the kid run off at least. There. Now he would know not to patrol alone, right? Or patrol at all. That would be good. She frowned deeply, standing up and dusting herself off. She made to deal with the trap she had worked so hard to set, and mostly wasted.
It took her a while to cover it back up so she might be able to use it again later. That done, she opted to just head home and unwind with some wine and a movie.
Maybe on her next hunt she would get a full grown senshi to vent on.
