She didn't even know why she was bothering to be out patrolling. It was too calm as far as she was concern, not that she was really looking at the moment. Her mind was else where, thinking about other people and other things. Not to mention, she just got back to town. So she didn't even understand what made her decide to go out looking for some trouble.
Pausing, Serpentarius glance around as she cracks her knuckles. She didn't hear a single noise around her. No screams, no breaking of glass, no nothing. This was just plain boring. She needed to just pack it up and head back to her dorm room. Try again another night when she felt up to actually doing this Senshi stuff.
Looking up at the sky, she sighs some before she groans "You know I am doing this for you. Right Bradie?" tugging at her torn skirt some, she rounds the corner as she continues down the street downtown. She would do one more sweep, just to check in case. Last she wanted was to miss and find out there was indeed a youma walking around while she was on patrol.
She would hate herself for awhile over that.

Sailor Chaonis was enjoying his night, as he had been more and more, but there was something different going on in his mind. Or rather, in his body. He was tired. Sore. His usual exuberance for a fight and the energy he bent toward his need for fun and thrill was waning a bit tonight because he had been, by all accounts, simply pushing himself too hard.
He was tired, bruised from too many fights, and needing some sleep from being out so many nights in a row. When he was home, he could rest in bed but found he just could not get to sleep once it was light out. He'd cover the windows and order his father, and their dog, to be as silent as possible but he still couldn't sleep.
So he just sat in bed and rested as he could, recovering enough energy to go out again and getting further in his video games.
Yet he didn't stay home like any reasonable person might. He came out and powered up regardless, and was walking around slowly, barely looking for any trouble to get into. Maybe it was instinct, or some unconscious need to at least say to himself that he had gone out on patrol. Even if he hadn't done anything. He didn't know, and he didn't care.
He looked up, sensing something nearby. Grinning, he moved toward it, only to skid around a corner to find another senshi. Not worth the sharp pain in his legs from the effort.
"Oh. Great," he sighed loudly, "I thought you were something interesting."

Turning her head some, Serpentarius arches a brow as she looks over the male senshi. One she was rather surprised to see a male senshi in the first place. Two, she wasn't interesting? Thanks a lot jerk, trust me she didn't find him to special either.
Turning away from him, she rolls her eyes as she glance around "Well sorry to burst your bubble buddy. But if you like, you can take over and find something worth your attention. Give me a chance to go back home and sleep." she meant it to. She didn't even want to do this right now.
Glancing over her shoulder once more she frowns some "So, does that work for you?" pushing her blonde hair from her face, she seem almost impatient as she waits for his answer.

Chaonis scoffed, hands on his hips as he looked her over. He hadn't seen her before, though he was sure there were a million senshi in this damn city that he had never seen before. And it didn't matter: there were only two types in the end. The interesting ones and the boring ones. He always assumed someone was in the boring category until some arbitrary factor was met and they moved into his interesting category.
So far, she was still boring in his book, but with two lines exchanged it was a bit early for a final ruling.
"I'm not going to take up your slack so you can go sleep," he said, shaking his head, "you do your own work. If someone gets killed on this street, it'll be your fault, not mine."
He watched her for a moment, then grinned.
"Quick to shirk off your duties, huh? Can't say I blame you."
When he was new to the game, or in a bad mood these days, he had been quick to give up on patrol nights. Even now, he could find good excuses to stay in and not bother with the drag of keeping the city safe. He always needed more than that: he justified what he did by the fact that he could fight and have fun. It was becoming more difficult, whether he admitted it out loud or not, though, to stay in when he knew there were bad guys out there that needed to be put in their places, even when he was tired.
What that meant, though, as far as personal growth or duty, was not something he put thought into.
As they spoke, a shadow moved into the street from the over hand of a nearby shop, where it had been tucked away. A youma had heard them and, stretching its bat-like wings, it decided it wanted to check the two senshi out.

Serpentarius felt her blood boil some as she glares at this new senshi. He had the nerve to tell her he wasn't picking up her slack, but then says he didn't blame her for not wanting to due her job? Seriously what the heck? Taking in a slow calming breath, she shakes her head some as she attempts to compose herself once more. She wouldn't allow him to get under her skin, as she was already stressed out enough as it was.
"Look I'm sorry, your right. I would rather not be out right now, but I have no choice. So how about we both play nice and team up. Might get the job done faster that way I can go home and you can as well?"
She pause only for a moment to glance around. She could have sworn she felt as if she was being watched. Maybe it was all in her head, just from the lack of sleep.
Lifting her hands up some, she held them close to her body. Just in case she wasn't going nuts and they were.

Chaonis grinned at her, watching her as she took a deep breath. He knew what that meant. She was frustrated with him, a common reaction, and trying to deal with it in a civil manner rather than yelling at him or playing his game right back. He didn't mind, he would just keep poking at her until she snapped in an amusing way.
Or until something more interesting drew his attention away.
"Yeah, sure," he said, with a shrug, "you might need a man around to help you out, right? It's okay, you don't have to be shy about it. I know the big scary night time might be too much for a little girl to handle," now he was just testing the water, seeing what kind of insult pressed her buttons more. Teasing that she was girl, or teasing that she needed help? Implying that he was better than her? Or maybe she would take it all some completely different way he hadn't imagined.
A strange sound distracted him, though, and he saw it almost too late. A large bat-like youma was flying right at them, and his instinct was to jump and tackle her to the floor with him. The bat flew low, right over them even with them being as low as they could, trying to scratch them with its large claws as it swooped by, then made a high arching turn in order to dive back at them.
"You got an attack?" Chaonis asked, jumping into fight mode immediately, despite being tired.

She would have responded, except the next moment she was on her back. Looking up at the male rather shocked, she turns her head upwards so she could see bat-like youma "These things ******** fly too? Are you bloody kidding me?" pushing away from Chaonis, she rises rather quickly to her feet.
Shifting her body, she didn't say a word to Chaonis. Instead her hands start glowing green as a single snake forms between them. As it rises up some, she narrows her eyes at the youma "Serpents Kiss!" the glowing snake lunges at the bat-like youma, fangs attempts to sink into it.
Serpentarius eyes narrow as she watches the snake. If it made contact, she was hopping to see the youma slow down for a good thirty seconds. It should give them plenty of time.
If not, well she had to fists to use as a another alternative.

"You haven't been at this long, huh?"
Just his luck to run into a newbie, he supposed. But he didn't have the time to gripe about that now: they were being attacked. They were in the fight now, whether she knew much about youma or not. And he wasn't going to carry her through it. She was going to help him, or get out of his way. Or get eaten by a youma, if it seemed particularly inclined to attack her and not him, maybe.
If she was useless.
He looked at her, though, and realized that she was already using her attack. His eyebrows lifted in surprise, and he watched with interest as she called her attack. What could she do? The snake lashed forward and the bat youma, circling back on them and racing back to land its attack this time, ran into it head on. It sank its fangs into the youma's shoulder and it let out a screech, then dropped out of the air.
It wasn't dust, so it wasn't dead, but it seemed to be struggling.
"Nice!" He laughed, patting her hard on the shoulder as he ran by her. He jumped on the fallen youma, fists and feet flying. Other senshi might have magical attacks that helped them, very much like those useful snakes this girl had with her, but Chaonis always preferred his brute strength.
"You coming?" He called, the youma trying to regain itself and fight back against him, but not having too much success yet.

A grin forms across Serpentarius lips as she sees the fangs sink into the youma. Good it would buy them some time, well at least she hoped so. Feeling the pat to her shoulder, she tense some as he ran pass her.
Arching a brow, she shakes her head some. Didn't he have a power? Why use just his fists? It really didn't make any sense to her, but then she was still new to all of this mess. Shaking her head, she sprints towards the male and the youma.
Her fists came up to block her face as she brings her leg up to kick the youma in the back. The only downside to her powers, she was only able use it once in a battle. The rest of the time, she had to use her fists, legs, and anything around her.

The bat youma was not much a fan of getting beaten to death by two senshi. It was growling viciously and throwing its head around, snarling more as the bite from the snake seemed to fade. It lashed out suddenly, having been biding its time until it could finally attempt some revenge.
It lashed out at the female senshi near it, large fangs glinting in the darkness as it opened its jaw so wide there was a creak and a pop. The bottom bone dislocated itself for greater use. It had long fangs on the top and bottom of its mouth, looking like serrated knives jutting up from its dank mouth.
Chaonis lashed out and managed to catch hold of the youma by the side of its mouth, pulling at the inside of its cheek to throw its bite path off. The thing was just flailing, its wings broken, his body littered with snapped, brittle bones and its blood heated from rage.
"I think this thing wants to be put out of its misery!"
The Senshi of Danger hadn't learned his lesson from before about not underestimating his opponent. The bat youma turned on him suddenly, moving its head quickly but he managed to pull his hand away before it snapped its powerful jaws shut. It did tackle him, though, hard enough to knock the wind out of his lungs and send him sprawling to the floor, knocking his head back on the floor as the jarring landing rocked him.
Chaonis was struggling to get up. His exhaustion hit him like a ton of bricks, and his body was stunned by the blow. He couldn't get his arms and legs under him, and the bat youma was limping its way toward him, determined to kill at least one of its attackers.

((Sorry it took so long to reply. We had some nasty tornado run through here. I just got the power back a couple of days ago, and been in the process of cleaning.))
Serpentarius pants as she jumps back out of the reach of the bat youma. She felt her stomach knot up as she saw its jaw dislocate. Hand moving to her mouth, she shakes her head a few times before her emerald green eyes widen in shock.
As she saw the other senshi hit the ground, then the youma limping towards him, she couldn't think. She was simply moving without thought, as she sprints towards the bat youma. At the last moment, she lunges towards it, her hands reaching for the wings in attempt to bring it down with her to the ground.
This thing wasn't going to take out anyone, not on her watch. Not if her life depended on it.

The dazed Senshi of Danger could only watch for a moment as the youma came toward him. His eyes widened as his addled mind, jarred by the fall, struggled to catch up and then propel him into action. Not fast enough.
The other Senshi was there, though, and she managed to get there in time to keep him from becoming bat chow.
He struggled to his feet and rushed to join her, leaping forward to tackle the youma, dragging all three of them to the ground. He wasn't thinking very clearly, his head hurting and his pride surging. He was furious that he had been knocked down, that he had felt fear, that he needed to be saved. He was not going to stand for it, and his fists were flying.
He was punching the youma repeatedly, his fists slamming into the creatures' face and upper body without aim or regard, his eyes glued on its face and nothing else. He was blinded by fury, and only looked up when the thing suddenly burst into dust. It had still been weakened by the snake bite, and the furious attacks from both senshi broke it.
He looked at Serpentarius, panting heavily, his anger evident on his face. He didn't say anything, not sure what to say after a display like that.

Watching the youma burst into dust, Serpentarius sat there as she looks at the male. Her breathing was quick as she shakes her head some, she was glad he was okay. Yet, some part of her had a feeling he didn't like being saved. Was it the look in his eyes? She wasn't honestly sure.
Carefully standing, she brushes off her knees, finding herself wincing for a moment. Glancing down, she see they were both skinned. It didn't bother her at all, as she looks back towards the other senshi,
Holding her hand out towards him, she chews on her bottom lip "Are you okay?" her eyes glance him over once, checking to see if he had any major cuts or injuries. Afterall, if he hadn't shown up, she could very well be dead.
So in a way, she owes him. Not that she would say that out loud.

Chaonis looked up at her as she offered him her hand. He didn't take it. Not just out of pride, but because she had already saved him and he didn't want to get further in debt. Because something as simple as being helped to his feet was something she would ask for a favor in return for, clearly.
He looked at her, taking a slow breath.
"Yeah," he grunted at her question. Sure, he was okay. He wasn't hurt, just tired and embarrassed. His head was a bit hazy, but only from the fall, and he tried not to think about any of that. Maybe it was time he took a break, get a proper night's sleep. Or at least avoid fighting for a short while.
Maybe.
"Nice snake thing," he said, trying to force himself back into his usual habits. He was fine. No problem. "Not bad for your first youma. I mean. That was your first, right?"

"Second actually, first one I was helping out another senshi." letting her hand drop to the side, she steps to the side as she place her hands on her hips. Tilting her head to the side, she smirks a little. A male senshi, she still was trying to wrap her head around that. Anything was possible though, after all, she didn't believe in magic and here she was.
"Thanks, about the snake thing. I'm Serpentarius, Senshi of Snakes." her eyes continue to look him over. She felt as if he wasn't okay, but she wasn't going to push the issue. If he didn't want help, who was she to force it.
Looking back towards the area in which the youma was, she nods once "Thanks for helping me out by the way. And sorry about being so rude. I shouldn't have done that." looking back towards him she smiles some.
"So I take it, this wasn't your first time battling a youma?"
