He felt them... the presence of a senshi and a young one, a 'fresh' one, it had not been the best of days before this either. He'd had to put up with the infuriating, the selfish, the self absorbed. He had spent hours hidden as a gym instructor being slapped, ogled and leered at by overweight over sweaty persons of both genders and no morals or manners.
In short, he was miserable, more cranky than normal and even his veneer of manners was worn through in more than a few places. He was tired of being bullied, he wanted to do the bullying.
Or he thought he did... normally he ended up wrong about that particular want.
He threw the smoke pellets in the general direction he felt them. A wordless assault when they had to know he too was there, they must know he was -dangerous- of course, because that was what Generals by nature -were-.
Dangerous.
Except he wasn't so much that, at least not in the 'traditional' sense. Not that he was incapable, simply that he was more or less, overall, disinterested. Utterly loyal...sometimes too inquisitive, but disinterested in 'that'.
"Very poor night to try and sneek up on people." He growled, pulling down his goggles and wading into the dissipating smoke to find the 'waif' and drag the sailor out to see what he had caught.

This was so much FUN! The first day Andromeda had spent all her time running around with her increased speed and agility, giggling and laughing and just having the time of her life. She'd been having so much fun she nearly went home as Andromeda. Imagine that? She would have given her grandparents heart attacks! But then she realized something; she wasn't used to heeled shoes, and she wasn't used to walking in a tiny strapless bubble dress with a giant bow in a back with tails that reached the ground. It was awkward for her and she didn't realize how unused to them she was until she took a wrong step and was sent to the ground, and then another time when one part of her bow caught on a bush.
It was shortly after that she sensed it, the strong energy source. What was that? Was that a Negaverse person Gianfar had told her about? She had to find out! It was so strong though...was this a good idea? Andromeda walked on her tiptoes to try and keep the sound of her heels clacking against the ground as quiet as she could, clinging to whatever she could reach to keep herself standing. Before she even had the chance to see who she was sneaking up on, however, she heard the clinking of something hitting the ground. Huh? What was-- "GAH!" She coughed and stumbled back, coughing and choking and whining in pain. Ow! Ow! Ow! Ow! Owowowowow! That wasn't fair! She didn't have a mask or anything! Not faaaaair! Her eyes burned and her throat hurt, coughing and gagging and rubbing at her eyes.
She was easily pulled out from the smoke cloud, though when she heard the growl she knew right away this person was no friend. "A-Androm--" She coughed and wheezed. "Andromeda's Sting!" Andromeda managed to get out, pulling off one of her gloves and blindly searching for exposed skin. She finally found it...were those eyes? Oh dear. Did she just grab his face? Oh dear...

"AAAUGH!!" The pained yell as he dropped her, well, not so much a drop when she'd still been balanced on her toes. He stumbled backwards trying to dislodge her, she'd gotten under his MASK... god... GOD!!! Stinging in his EYES from the smoke, stinging on his face from her attack...mother of all that was unholy.
He gave her a harsh shove reminding himself why he preferred paperwork and information hounding... then at least the worst he feared was a paper cut or having toner tossed at him.
"DAMN SENSHI!" He swore trying to get out of the smoke.
God all he needed was an eternal to drop in to -really- make the day miserable.

He let go! Yes! Andromeda pulled her glove back on with trembling hands, trying to keep herself standing in her awkward heels while completely disoriented. Not fair! This guy played dirty! She turned to try and get out of the smoke, a hand over her mouth and her eyes squeezed shut. She knew she got him good, he'd yelled in pain when she touched him.
She felt a sudden shove at her back and she squeaked out loud, glad to at least find herself in clear air now as she stumbled a few feet before hitting the ground. Owwwww! Andromeda coughed and rubbed at her eyes some more as she struggled and stumbled back up to stand. Ugh, she could barely see! Her eyes watered and she whined, her heel stepping on the end of her ribbon as she backed away from the nega and nearly sending her to the ground again. Oh yes, this girl was very new to this stuff. "S-stupid jerk!" She whined, near ready to just cry because he was mean.
"Why'd you have to go and do that? That wasn't fair! I wasn't going to fight you!" She just wanted to see who he was! Curiosity! That was all!

"You're SENSHI, the probability lay in the FAVOR of you attacking!" He countered as soon as he had enough of the tears out of his eyes to concentrate on replying.
My GOD his new smoke was treacherous, never mind her stinging attack it was as bad as... JELLYfish.
"You all say you're innocent and then...god my EYES... how the HELL did you get your thumb under my goggles!!"
Of all nights to have a low wind...

"Y-yeah but...I...I'm new at this! I just wanted to see who you were!" She retorted, rubbing at her eyes some more. Ugh! It was like having allergies! Though she could only imagine it was like that, really. She coughed and stumbled further away from the cloud of smoke to stay out of it, really hoping there was a water fountain or something nearby to wash out and cool off her eyes. Owwwwww! What a cheap trick using tear gas on a small girl!
At least she wasn't the only one complaining here. Was this guy a lieutenant or something? She'd never met a nega before! "That was self defense! You attacked me first when I didn't do anything to you, you big dumb stupid jerk!" She snapped, bumping into a water fountain and giving a pleased little sound. She leaned forward with the water running, cupping some of it in the palm of her gloved hand and splashing it against her face. She rubbed the water in, wincing and trying to get all remnants of the evil, evil smoke out. Ugh, her nose was running now. Stupid smoke!
In all her runny nose, red-eyed, sore throated glory she turned back awkwardly to face the person she was arguing with. Andromeda took as strong a stance as she could in her heels, one hand on her hip and the other pointing at him. "My name is Sailor Andromeda! And in the name of Andromeda I...I..." She blinked and rubbed away the tears in her eyes. They still burned a little. Was she seeing things though? Was...was she fighting...
"I'm...being attacked by a little kid?" Seriously?! She had to be seeing things. Was he slouching? He had to be slouching.

"Just wanted to -see-?" He snapped in disbelief "Try 'just seeing' when you're out of uniform, the city is swarming with senshi like Ants, I'm sure you'll see SOMETHING interesting."
He paused scowling for a moment at her pointing finger, planning on all the ways he was going to disabuse her of the idea that... that...
"I am -not- a little kid." He said though clenched teeth and shifted into what more or less passed as a 'fighting stance.' Which really amounted to "keep away from the jellyfish hands till he could find a way to keep her off bare skin" stance.

He really wasn't a little kid? Was he sure? Andromeda frowned and dropped her stance into a more relaxed position, rubbing at the beck of her neck and looking him up and down. He was so tiny! How was he not in elementary school or middle school at the least? She couldn't fight this guy. It'd be like hitting a child! And she was always taught to pick on people her own size if she had to pick on anyone. It didn't seem fair.
Suddenly an idea seemed to strike her and she grinned, holding up a finger to wordlessly let him know 'One moment please!' before she took off. Was she escaping? Damn, how anticlimactic. Or..was it? A few minutes later there was a rustling, it sounded like something was...being dragged...something big and something heavy. What could it be? Perhaps she was bringing the tiny general a sacrificial starseed source. No, that would be stupid.
No, Andromeda was dragging a picnic bench she'd stolen from a table not too far off. She dragged it all the way over to the boy before finally letting go of it and huffing, brushing her hands off and primping a bit to make sure everything was in place. She turned to the tiny general and gestured to the bench. "For you! I've always been taught that if I pick on someone, they should be my own size. It wouldn't be fair for me to fight someone so little!" She told him cheerfully, stepping back away from the bench with a proud smile. She'd done a good thing!

He -stared- at her for a very long time. On one hand... that was very polite, rather considerate if exceptionally niaeve...
On the other hand, on the OTHER hand she brought him a -park bench- to stand on. He wasn't -that- short, and he was a god forsaken GENERAL for heaven's sake.
"You... really don't know much about this war do you." He finally managed. His voice was taught and his words as dryly sarcastic as the sahara.
"There is a strong temptation to educate you on the matter."

Hey now, Andromeda thought she was doing a very good thing. Wouldn't he like to be taller than her? She was trying to be nice! She didn't want to fight him! He...he seemed strong despite his appearances, or if not strong he at least had really stupid tear gas. Stupid tear gas...
But he was right. She didn't know much about the 'war'. Andromeda frowned and backed away from him, not wanting to be within hitting or immediate attacking distance. Educate? What did he mean by educate? He didn't mean torture did he?! Like in movies?! No! She didn't want to be tortured. "Well, not..not yet I...just...I told you I didn't want to fight you! It's not like I was stalking you! And...and if I'd..." She backed away a few steps more, her hands balling into fists and a scowl on her face. "You don't scare me!"

Zinkenite blinked at her owlishly, a calculated look, studious... like he could take her apart bit by bit with his eyes alone, then he smiled. It was a cold blooded smile, if snakes smiled...that would have been it. It looked friendly enough, but there was a sort of smothered anger there, like it was always there, fuel for everything he did, in every moment... hate... hate for the world, hate for the thoughtless...hate for the rude and the ignorant.
He Moved with a showman's calculated air, pausing before pressing his hand on the center of the bench... it seemed at first as though there was nothing to that, like his trick must by nature fail.
He jerked his arm back and drove from the shoulder smashing his hand through the center of the bench, cracking it in half and turning away, walking quickly from the splintered remains as though he were a cat who disdained the dinner offered it.
Truthfully... that bit of showman ship left him with a throbbing hand, currently tucked into his arm pit while he stifled swear words into the thick fabric of his mask until he could continue.
"I'm a GENERAL... I should scare you on SOME level." He said when he could finally turn around, he hoped, without revealing the agony of what he prayed was just a bruised hand.

Andromeda didn't like that look. His eyes were cold, and downright scary. She could say she wasn't scared all she wanted but just then, right at that moment, she nearly started trembling. She managed to hold back, instead planting her feet on the ground and raising her fists in front of her in a ready-to-strike pose. If he came at her he was getting a punch right to the face! She couldn't let him intimidate her, she just couldn't let him see she was starting to get scared. She'd never encountered a negaverse agent before. It was both the more exciting and most terrifying experience of her life to date.
As he cracked the bench in two with his bare hand like it was a twig Andromeda tensed, the color in her face seeming to drain away. He..he was strong. For someone so tiny to be so strong was incredibly unnerving.
For someone so tiny to be a general was...was actually kind of funny.
Andromeda blinked and seemed to visibly relax just a little. "You're...a general?" Oh crap! Her first encounter and it was with a freaking GENERAL! Andromeda swallowed hard and frowned, doing her best to ignore the way her heart raced and her palms felt clammy inside her gloves. "Honestly, I had no idea. When I think of a general I think of someone imposing, strong...big and tall..." She shrugged, forcing nonchalance as she backed away yet another step. Wh-what was he going to do to her?

A dark scowl crossed his features. "Shame we can't all be cast in that mold I suppose... tall, dark and handsome might get a bad reputation if we were...then again all hero's would be too." He rolled sarcastically.
"Then again where would we BE if we lacked a culture where people in movies always turn to the hero and say "Gee I thought you'd be taller"...
He took a measured step forward, and then another before he raised both hands suddenly and said...
"Boo!"

Ouch. That hadn't been her intention. She had been told a few times to think before she spoke but darn it was hard to remember to do that sometimes! Andromeda frowned and took a step back for every step forward her took, wanting to keep some kind of distance between them. He was a general..she had to get away. She just had to.
She was so tensed up the sudden movement had her stumbling back, her heel stepping on one of the tails of her bow and sending her to the ground with a squeal. Owwww! Stupid bow! Stupid heels! Andromeda pouted and stared down at her shoes, reaching down to tug on the ribbon of one of them until it untied. She then took the shoe off and chucked it at him. "You're just a big jerk!" Her aim had been for his head, but whether it actually got him there or not remained a mystery.

He ducked, the ribbons slapping him in the face and hoenstly, honestly he half expected them to sting too but when they didn't he did laugh.
No wonder bullies did this, there was a rush, a thrill... horrid to admit it though it was. He laughed despite himself, a sort of bitter chuckle before he offered her, quite unexpectedly...a hand.
"Yes... I can be." He admitted. "Would you like a hand."
Nothing quite like unbalancing someone, figuratively and literally.
"I can't say I envy you those heels... not so very different in height are we."
