After replying to the message on your phone, a bright blue light blinds you. You then feel something heavy hit you on the back of the head, then you see nothing more than darkness.

When you come to, you find that you have been dumped outside of a... well.

It's a place. That's the best way to describe it. As far as you can tell, you're somewhere on the beach -- it's a part you don't recognize, however. To your left is the broad ocean; to your right and behind the... place are steep cliffs. You're standing on the only way in and out. At least the bright yellow door looks as if it's sporting a fresh layer of paint, yes?

It doesn't look as if there's anything of interest outside the... place. There's only one way in, and one way out, and you're standing on it. Why's the sand purple? It makes no sense!

Inside, you find the "place" itself seems to be made up of two floors. You think. It certainly doesn't feel as roomy as the outside indicates. It's also rather dark. Did something just brush your leg?

Yes.

Yes something did just brush your leg.

As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you notice that you're not alone.

Now, the question is: whatcha gonna do about it?

[ Beta 12 is entering from the Cornfields]

The last few days had been spent in a feverish pitch that would not cease. Base camp had become a second home, the armour a second skin as she sweated and pulled at layer of protection to find she did not have the strength to take it off. It was only with the care of some much needed rest did Beta 12 find her feet again and this time she wasn't going to waste any more time. She wanted off this island, she wanted her home...where ever and what ever it was she knew it was not here any. Time to go.

Except now after jumping to respond to the text message she had an awful feeling she may be wrong. That another way was surely the best to escape this place. Oh well too late now. But that feeling of dread only intensified after walking into the building and finding she was indeed not alone. Fist twisted into balls she allowed the familiar feel of her wood stake pinch into her gloves. She had almost missed it...if it wasn't such a life line between this and death.

"Who are you!" cloaked in mock confidence her voice rang out to the bare walls and mist, the figure stood its ground before her as if she was the one intruding on it. Sod that.

"Tell me before you regret not using manners!"
Hollow threatening words, but she needed them like a safety blanket. She needed herself to know she wasn't scared. So why where her hands shaking so?

[Eta Nine is entering from Abandoned Town]

Pushing the button on the phone did not cause rainbow sparkles to emit from it, or a magical tune to be played while she was whisked away to wherever the task was going to be held. No, a blue light abruptly shined from the phone, blinding Eta Nine even through her gas mask. As she stumbled forward, unsure of what to do, something heavy collided with the back of her skull, making that unsureness absolutely null. She sank into darkness with her last fleeting thought: <******** to, that word was still fresh on Eta Nine's mind as she sat up and observed her surroundings. What was this? Water stretched out beyond the horizon on one side, so she guessed it was the beach, but it seemed different than she had expected. She hadn't explored the island very much at all, but she didn't recall the map mentioning anything about steep cliffs or a... conspicuously yellow door.

Noticing that the door was conveniently the one way to go, Eta Nine checked to assure that her dagger was still latched in her belt. Bracing her shoulders, she entered through the door. It was dark, very dark, and she paused for a moment to allow her eyes to adjust to the dark. During her stillness something brushed past her leg ohgod. Leaping back, Eta Nine shrieked and flailed her arms at the now empty spot.

It was then through the darkness that she heard another voice, and Eta Nine scurried in its direction. Another person! She was almost happy, but then her enthusiasm died down once she realized that the main goal of this place was to get everyone to kill everyone else. "I'm not sure threatening things in this place really helps. Hasn't seemed to help so far," she called to the other, her thoughts traveling back to the awful hellpony, while her eyes remained on the shadowy figure that other was yelling toward.

[Alpha Eight is entering from the Abandoned Town]

Eight eagerly pressed down on the button. As he hoped for a bright light and something to guide him to a pendant, he only found darkness. That was until he noticed the smell of the sea. Was he back at the beach? How did he get here? Did he ever leave? Was this the first day all over? What was happening?

"Ugh, did I just get roofied? Hahaha."

Nope, Eight was still on the island and in desperate need of a pendant. Lovely, just lovely. He now felt a little uneasy. Eight had hoped this wouldn't be difficult, but the foreboding building and the strange sand begged to differ. Carefully checking to make sure he had his bandages, he made his way into the building. His minor victories had given him enough confidence to stand on his own two feet, but only just barely. Now he felt his stomach lurch at the idea of fighting again, not to mention another fight for his life. As he entered the dark room, he thought he heard a voice. Perhaps it had come from the figure cloaked in mist. Whoever was yelling, they certainly did have the same experience Alpha Eight had with hooded figures. Their experience must have been drastically different since Eight knew not to piss them off. Not if you wanted to survive and especially not if you want to get a pendant.

"It's best not to piss one of those hooded figures off. Unless you know, you want to die. Haha"

He spoke in a clear voice, but he wasn't shouting. Only attempting to speak sternly in order to avoid unknown retribution.

(Delta 8, coming from Zeta home base.)

As soon as he hit the respond button he was gone, leaving the home base behind. He didn't expect to wind up knocked out upon arriving, to wherever it was he'd arrived. SOmeone really had a thing for hitting people in the head, he was sure of this. Considering the headache he'd had when first waking on this island, and the headache he had when he woke now also.

Whoever they used, as he was sure it had to tbe the same person, was talented. Perhaps they should find some sort of job involving hitting people...or things.

Either way he took a glance around, while he stood himself up. Well, the sand was certainly an interesting color. The door...he didn't like it. He just didn't like the feel of seeing a door on this island.

Of course it figured he let curiosity rule him. He wound up inside, whatever it was that was behind that door.

"Hooded figures...I've not seen one yet...." He spoke up, sounding almost timid now. It sounded like there was something very...deadly here. He didn't like that idea at all.

(( Entering from the Beach. Not sure if it counts as a task, but Delta 3 was part of the group at the Dark Cove. 8D; ))

Deli's appearance in the place was punctuated by a small yelp as he staggered slightly to keep his balance on . . . Where the hell were they? He saw sand and thought beach, but this wasn't any sort of beach he had ever seen.

Second thoughts: what if the others decided not to come? He had somewhat made an abrupt decision to do the task.

Weeeell, at least none of the others here knew he had made a nice declaration about teams that could easily be destroyed by ignoring the message. 8D;

Speaking of! He recognized several other deltas (one being 8, who he had spoken to before), but the rest were either a Beta he didn't know or two completely new colors he had yet to see. How many teams did that make now? Hum . . .

"Eheh. Hiya, folks," Deli, or Delta 3 as the others would know him, introduced with a sheepish but friendly wave as he approached. "So, er . . . what's up?"

He did indeed spy the shadowy figure, but he did nothing about it yet. Why attack something that hadn't harmed them yet?

[Beta 1 entering from Lighthouse]

After replying to the message with 'Will it aid my rate of survival and chances of success? If so I accept your 'test' and will participate in furthering your studies.' Did Beta I find herself in a compromising position. Knocked out, and awakening in a place unfamiliar to her. This seemed to be a re-occurring theme here. She did not really approve of the methods whatever they maybe; it wasn't very good for one's health to wake up in unfamiliar places, (at least in her opinion). This time at least she could recall where she had last been. Bloody good that did her however. This was no lighthouse, but..it was something. Better than nothing. Who knew, perhaps this test would give her the bear hands she wanted. She could kill with her bare hands, but having bear hands would be much better.

...it was a thought at least.

Bright yellow door, ocean, or...cliffs. So far, she didn't entertain the idea that going into the ocean was going to help anything aside from making her soggy. Being soggy wouldn't help her. Just...get her wet. Wet did not equal advantage. Cliff meant...well. She certainly wouldn't survive long taking that route. The bright yellow door was the only choi-
Wait.

Looking at her feet, she glared behind her mask. The sand was purple. PURPLE. Purple and yellow. "Someone decorated poorly. Purple sand is gay and piss yellow is piss yellow." The island was getting stranger by the second. But...A door was a door and her only good option. The task had been taken and she couldn't turn away now. Inside was little better. Even if she didn't like it. Well not until she managed to catch sigh of another Beta. "Beta 12, yelling only serves to give away your position. I would not advise it."

A curt not to the other appearing. They were few in number. Attacking was not the best course of action to take. "I assume you are all he-" Beta 1's voice stopped as her leg was touched. Looking down, under her mask was very large scowl. What was that?
"..."
She looked at the others in the room.

"I do not enjoy having my leg molested."

((ENTERING FROM THE BEACH))
((Participated in Dark Cove Task/RP. Dunno if that counts but mentioning it in case.))

For a moment all he pretty much saw was blue and felt a bit odd but other than that it was pretty routine for the most part from what he went through the first time. He gazed around where he had appeared for a few moments and felt...indifference. The apathy was overtaking him again for the moment before he wandered forward toward the building that was before him because there was really no other place to go and chances were the next task would come from there - maybe.

As soon as he entered the building he felt a sense of something there - amongst the others already there but unlike them this felt a bit more ... malignant and threatening somehow.

Then of course the feeling of something brushing his leg caused him some alarm and he shuddered lifting up a leg to try and see if he could get a look at it, otherwise he didn't pay the figure any mind right now - maybe that figure was the cause?

He gazed around to see if he could locate Deli since he assumed that is where the other male abruptly popped to - or perhaps it was a different task? That would suck a bit... It was already bad enough that he couldn't find Delta Nine...After he promised her to find her and to help her. Ugh. Theta Seven brushed off the guilt for now so he could attempt to actually concentrate.

[Entering from the Beach]

The moment the blue flash appeared, Delta 5 couldn't help but feel a stab of fear in her gut before feeling a sharp thud to the back of her head and then nothing.

Later on, she woke up with a bit of a groan... not sure how long she had been out this time, but this trend had to stop. Rubbing the back of her head, Delta 5 slowly stood up to take stock of her surroundings... as well as to see if anyone else was there. More sand?... Wait... was this even sand...? Purple of all things.... though this place seemed to get weirder and creepier as time went on, so maybe it wasn't so odd for whoever was here. In front of her a bright yellow door was there as if trying to look inviting or cheery though in reality it just seemed as if it might be hiding something horrible. "Great... what did I get myself into..." Delta 5 mumbled before heading inside.

Oh yeah. Something was certainly being hidden in here... and was it... smaller somehow...? Well damn. It was too dark to see much of anything, friend or foe, so for now she chose to stay quiet and see what happened. Wait. Oh goodness. Something was in here, she could feel it against her leg if even for just a brief moment. She was alone here in the dark with some unknown creature and all because of wanting to try and find a place of her own before her life ran out.

"Come on... mess with me again... I've got a reason to fight this time, so bring it." she growled out to the darkness. Sure, it wasn't the smartest move, but there was no way in hell that she was going to go down without a fight now. Not when there was so much at stake.

[ η X is entering from The Lighthouse Hiding thread ]

Rubbing the back of his head, η X groaned and opened his eyes. It was all a misunderstanding. He didn't want to participate in a special test. He had simply replied saying 'no thanks' and then this.. this.. disaster. A blinding light, behind hit on the head with something hard enough to knock him out, and some weird building.

η X stared at the yellow door and green walls before looking at his surroundings. "A purple ground? What the heck is going on?!" He shook his head. No, that didn't matter. He just needed to find out who was in charge. He wasn't supposed to be here! He would be on his way back to η VI soon enough, yes.

Going through the yellow door, η X looked around. It was just black. Darkness. It wasn't until something touched his leg that he moved further in, jumping and startled. "AGH!" he could help but whine in surprise. What if it was another creature he encountered by the lighthouse?

While looking around rapidly for the source of the touch, his eyes adjusted and η X saw a shape on the floor. Was this a person? The one in charge of the message? The 'special test'? Clearing his throat, η X spoke up, "U-uh. Excuse me. I think this is a mistake... I replied and said I didn't want to take the 'special test' -- I shouldn't be here! H-how do I leave?"

(( Eta VI is entering from The Lighthouse Hiding thread. ))

"Wah!" Eta VI fell with a thump next to Eta X, trying to blink away the spots caused from the sudden flash of blue light. She sat up, rubbing her sore head. It felt like someone took her mace and hit her with it... "That wasn't fun..." She glanced over at Eta X, relieved to see he was alright. Though their surroundings were... odd. She was pretty sure that sand wasn't supposed to be purple...
And what just brushed her leg?!
"Gah!" She snatched her foot away from whatever touched it, eyes wide behind her gas mask. "I think I liked the lighthouse better."

[ Theta Two is entering from the Abandoned Town. ]

Godamn ******** island. This was the second time she was waking up with a headache the size of Texas, and no idea where she was.

Mon dieu, she thought, her mind muddled and trying to fast forward and jam the pause button at the same time. It felt like there was sand in under her, trying to crawl into her gear, and a few moments of groaning and shifting later, she realized that there was. Gagging, the girl dragged herself to her feet, instantly swiping her padded gloves over her… purple plastered clothes. Purple? Alright, that was one new thing about this island – the damned sand was purple.
"Thats new," She rasped, trying to dust herself off. But compared to giant, flaming horses and extremely sadistic Reapers, she would take the purple sand any day. Theta-two didn’t think much as she gave her surroundings a passing glance. Sand, waves, door. Sand, waves, door.

Door.

Feeling an odd lump in her throat and an adrenaline shot straight to the head, the Theta slid her feet through the sand. Dragging became walking, and walking became actual, accentuated strides. She didn’t know why she was drawn to the door, but it felt like the only place left to go, apart from the ocean waves. And she wasn’t quite sure she wanted to take a dip in the sea just yet. Something in her gut told her that open water and her confidence did not get along well together. Guiding the entrance open, the girl slid it inward just far enough for her to step through. The darkness swallowed her up, but breath gave away the other bodies in the room. Her heart pounded with a familiar ache, her hands growing sweaty and her mind going cold.

From what the girl could make out, there were two floors. Only two floors? At least there wouldn’t be a lot of exploring to do… hopefully. She tried not to brush against anything, lingering closer to the door than the others seemed to be. She waited in shallow breath as her eyes adjusted to the darkness, but it didn’t take long for her to feel the own sensation that everyone else seemed to.
Her uncreative yell bounced off of the dark walls, rebounding back to her in whispered echoes. “What the hell was that?” Tense and hunched, the girl backed nearer to the growing group of people. She could hear other voices, make out other figures, and cutscenes from countless horror movies and thriller games played their way through her head. "Well, well, good evening everyone," Her voice held a nervous, sharpened edge. "Looks like the islands outdone itself this time. Lets just hope whatever else is here doesn't like the idea of us as house decorations." Her eyes adjusted, and while the quiver up her spine and the warnings in her head murmured that the gas mask troopers were not alone, her sight could not rightly tell her just who – or what – was bunking with them now.

Only time would tell. And time was running out.

[[ entering from the Abandoned Town ]]

When Twelve woke up, he had no idea where he was. He looked down and noticed purple sand. Pause. Twelve curiously scooped up a handful of the odd-colored sand. Could sand be purple? At the very least, he knew he was on a beach. He just had no clue where on the beach. Twelve looked around and noticed people as confused as he was. Surprisingly, he saw Theta Two—why hello there!—and a splotch of familiar green. Another Delta? The green jogged his memory and he wildly looked around for Delta Six. Oh wait, she’s dead. He frowned and smacked his head. People don’t come back from the dead, so she wasn’t coming back. Twelve stared at the door, a cheery shade of yellow that starkly contrasted against his current mood. Being on this island sucked.

Nonetheless, he stood up and passed through the door. Everything was dark. Twelve cautiously raised his arms and groped around until he found a wall to rest against. Something brushed against his leg and he stiffened, but remained still. When the thing did not not appear to touch him again he sighed and relaxed. Once his sight adjusted to the darkness, he noticed a mysterious figure. Twelve pursed his lips, but said something.

[[entering from the Abandoned Town]]

The next thing Eta V became aware of, was sand. Sand was everywhere. And it was purple....Why in gods name was the sand purple?!

He sat up, head throbbing and making things difficult to focus on. Up ahead he could make up a broken building with a very new looking yellow door. Confused, he walked towards the building and entered it. Inside he..couldn't make out much, but he did notice there were two floors. There was also plenty of other people here, all from different squads. Among them he could see a few Etas, and a few others he recognized from his previous task. Not many of them though...

Should he go up to them and say hello? He wasn't sure. There was so many people here he didn't know, many from different squads. They might just attack him if he approached them. Or would it be better to make friends with everyone and lesson their desire to want to kill him?

...This was worse then being a loner at a party. But he had to do something..

"Uh...hi....everyone..."

Well...wasn't that a brilliant way to introduce himself. And it was made ten times worse when he let out a...very, girly scream. Something had just brushed his leg, and for a second he thought something was going to jump out at him and devour him. Instead..he just made himself look like a moron.
