Arthur sat at his desk, doing the odious paperwork that came with being a prince of a large kingdom. He'd much rather be out in the woods, hunting, and decided then and there that that was what he was going to do tomorrow.
He glanced up at Merlin, who was haphazardly cleaning the spacious chambers, moving the piles of armour, clothes, boots and books around in some system only Merlin seemed to know the meaning of.
"We're going hunting tomorrow," Arthur announced. "Make the arrangements."

Merlin sighed, dumping whatever he'd been holding in a corner between a dresser and the wall. "I live to serve," he muttered.
Hunting was one of his least favourite things to do. He had to haul all the weapons as well as lunch for two, water, and whatever they managed to kill. Being out in the woods exposed Arthur to attack, both by bandits and by monsters, and every time that happened Merlin came close to having his magic exposed.
Yeah, hunting was just swell. He glared at his Prince.

 Katherine knocked on Arthur's door quietly.

 Merlin glanced at Arthur at the knock, then went to open the door. "Oh!" he said, surprised. "Lady Katherine!"

 Arthur stood up from his desk, and came around it. "Of course I'm treating him well," he said, somewhat indignantly. "It's only Merlin. Whatever has he been telling you?"

Merlin laughed at Arthur's indignation. "No," he said. "The man's a brute. I'm constantly unappreciated and marginalized."

Arthur nodded to Katherine as he came up next to Merlin. "It was good to see you, Lady Katherine," he said. "I'm surprised that you can't find something to do with Morgana. Maybe I could escort the two of you on a horseback ride?" He really wasn't interested in listening to a bunch of girl chatter, but it was better than sitting inside and doing paperwork.
