User ImageHis journey was truly over. Or at least, the journey all Ukuucha'Wafalme males go on when they peak in adolescence. He had been quite successful, confident that his name would go down in the pride's history as one of the pads who had come back with a most glorious following. He had brought home not one, but three females. To boot, one he had named kajira, thus appearing self-sacrificing for the future good of the Ukuucha'Wafalme. Perhaps some would think that he would gift the female to a eunuch... Perhaps his kajira, who he had found to be actually as clever and skilled as she was wild and undesirable, would find favor in high places. Perhaps even Sultan Aali would want her. He barked a laugh to himself, standing at the front entrance to his den. If he hadn't been crowned next sultan of the Ukuucha'Wafalme for his acts and future potential acts, he would surely make sure to have that happen soon.

His ears pricked upwards as he heard noise coming from within the den. It could either have been the kajira or Banu Korofi-uzulu, as he had allowed Banu Naheed to acquaint herself with the rest of the pride members, reluctantly trusting his sister, Sioned, to watch over her, as well as Banu Lililamuna, who had requested to see her father. His females had been taught on the major parts of proper etiquette observed in the Ukuucha'Wafalme, thanks to mostly the instructions of Banu Lililamuna. He thought it best to reward her with something like a word with her father if she had so desired. All was going well on the surface level for Akram'raja, and everything would soon be calm enough for him to set his future plans in motion to acquire a fourth banu... perhaps even name one of them a beybanu. He smiled, knowing of the underlying competition that ran between his three banu, and even the kajira. It seemed as though all the rogue females who had learned of his pride's traditions came to fully accept them and accept him as their ultimate superior.

His head turned again, aware of some motion going on in his den. He focused his scarlet eyes into its depths, seeing a figure move about.

"Banu Korofi-uzulu?" he inquired, still peering inside.

She kept her promise on the journey, keeping pace extremely well, requiring less nourishment than any of the others. Hard desert life had made her body resilient. Her paws didn't tire as quickly and she didn't sleep until after the sun did while still managing to rise before it. She took down more difficult prey-- a competitive streak or just a thirst for a challenge since leaving home? --when the time came to hunt, proud to provide for their group.

The only one she seemed to have a problem with was the kajira. It was probably the first time she'd felt irritation towards someone, but she couldn't put a claw on why.

Mouthy.

They were alone in the den for the moment, and Korofi had gotten restless. She got to her paws and moved closer to the mouth of the den only to turn, pacing from one wall towards the other much like a caged tiger might. When called her ears perked up first and her head turned.

Yes, pad Akram'raja

She was learning. Many, if not all of the pride's beliefs went against her upbringing, but she'd promised to give it her best and that was what she planned to do. Besides, she adored her family but honestly she'd never really felt like with the Firekin was her place. That was just why she ended up in the rogue lands to start with.

Akram'raja was aware that Korofi-uzulu was learning - that was sure. When he first came upon her, she had been most oblivious to any form of humility a female should exhibit, and could not hold her crude and thoughtless tongue. During their journey he had started to mold her mind, shape her into something he could present to the Ukuucha'Wafalme. And when they reached the lands, she was by far presentable. Perhaps even suitable for a low form of his standards. He did not worry, however, for training just simply took time, and he would make sure that Korofi-uzulu would eventually be fit for his den. Compared to the other banu within the pride, she was already impeccable. Her strong physique made many other banu intimidated, worried that their hunt will shame them if the black, white, and fiery orange lioness had challenged them. He was aware of this fact and perhaps felt some pride for his first acquired female.

He nodded to her words, accepting them as the proper greeting. At first, he was concerned that Korofi-uzulu would not even get a formal acknowledgment right, and he would have had to put a sharp claw to her rather unique and pretty pelt. But she was proving to be more adept at adapting to his wishes and obeying them. Perhaps she really had been more brawns than brains and simply followed him out of a simple loyalty.

Smiling to himself at all these thoughts, he replied, "Banu Korofi-uzulu, your motions are bewildering within the den. Is something the matter?"

The only answer he could think of is if she had an anxiety of escape, and was pacing back and forth out of fear and nervousness of her plans. But for her sake, Akram'raja hoped that she would think no such thing.

She stopped, turning on her paws to face him properly and have a seat, exhaling through her nostrils softly.

I have all this energy that I don't know what to do with.

Korofi admitted, she was definitely restless, she didn't know why. If she were back home she'd take a trek to the oasis, or found someone to spar with. She looked at him with a sign of question in her eyes.

Are you hungry? Could we go hunt?

He stared at Korofi-uzulu, furrowing a brow in mild confusion and simple distaste at the lack of regard for the pride's routine way of life. Had Banu Lililamuna not gone over that part? As he looked, he could sense the fiery energy turning in her body, and for a moment, saw the same wild energy his father enjoyed in his banu. Perhaps this was the same thing that made his father enjoy sparring with Banu O'tep despite the fact that he likewise gained slight injuries from it.

Korofi-uzulu was definitely requesting something, but he didn't know what - even she implied that she did not know what. He hummed to himself, considering it. He had allowed the other two banu to go out - why alienate Korofi-uzulu with the kajira? He did not mean to reduce her to the kajira's level, but had felt no occasion to send the large lioness somewhere else.

"If you are not aware," he began, "That is... not proper within the Ukuucha'Wafalme. Pads patrol, and banu hunt together. I could, however, watch over you while you hunt, perhaps. I am sure the kajira knows well that she is to stay put."

He breathed out a sigh of relief, now that the possibility of Korofi-uzulu escaping didn't seem to be on her mind. He hadn't thought much on how his females were adjusting - only briefly did he inquire Banu Naheed on whether she liked the Ukuucha'Wafalme. He should ask the same of Korofi-uzulu.

"I will find more things for you to do in the Ukuucha'Wafalme if that is your request. Because I have given Banu Naheed and Banu Lililamuna time away from the den, I shall also accompany you to the hunting grounds. As well, I would like to know how you find the Ukuucha'Wafalme, Banu Korofi-uzulu. Are the lions and these lands grander than the dirt hole you come from?"
