It had been about three days since he had left Muujiza and Dinah. He knew that they were going to come soon, and so, he waited for them. As he waited, he thought about his father. Even though he had come back, he wasn't the same as he used to be. Going through the process of waking up and realizing you were a god had to be shocking. Being young again could do it too. Still, he wondered how his father had dealt with being such a strong Seer, and then losing it. Gods were usually wary of Seers, Mother had said so. Tawa'di may be, if only because he lost a power that he used as a limb. Depended on it when times were tough, and not so tough. Could Skan really depend on it in the same matter? He sighed, still waiting for them to come. They should be here soon. Muujiza was ready. Dinah had expressed interest in returning to the clan, but it was time to find them. And Muujiza was ready to move! Without being pushy, y'know. "Ready?" she asked.

After the surprise visit the other day, Dinah was determined to get up the nerve to really join in the pride, to be able to handle the clan. She certainly wasn't going to be swarmed just because she stopped hiding. It might be nerve-wracking but it would be OK, she was sure.. or so she kept telling herself.
At the very least, it was nice to be out of the shadows again, though she might have been happy to stay there if it weren't for Muujiza.
"Yes," she said, sounding as certain as the last time she said it before hesitating- but now she had hesitated enough, "How will we find them?"

Muujiza laughed. "Honestly, we don't hide our trail when we move around. Its nice if we're trying to meet up with another clan, or the other way around. All the clans only get together about once or twice a year. Otherwise we sometimes meet up with a different one now and then to socialize a bit. Oh, yeah, there's about six clans, so it's a big pride. You just don't see it until there's a festival."
She waved a paw. "Anyway, I'm sure we'll get there soon. I doubt they went terribly far, we're all slow walkers."
"Hmmm." Skan felt the urge to move forward, as if his mind was showing him movement that he should be doing. He resisted, knowing that not everything he saw was the truth, and he wanted to see how it would pan out if he stubbornly sat here waiting for them.

"Oh."
Dinah definitely had a lot to learn about the pride. Nothing seemed quite as surprising as learning about Muujiza's tattoos, though. Thinking back on the surprise visit from the wanidatsi, Dinah had realized he'd been covered in tattoos as well. Much more thoroughly than the lioness, however. It had been hard to take in at the time, though.
"OK, good," she said, glad their hiding away a few days more didn't put a ridiculous amount of distance between them and the group.

It didn't take too long for them to catch up. Muujiza was glad. She felt a little out of shape herself, even with the hunting. She had spent a lot more time lying down than she was used to. And Dinha might be feeling better, but it always felt like stamina was the first thing to go when one recovers.
"Oh...oh. He didn't really have to stand out there waiting for us so...obviously."
Skan grinned. He saw Muujiza pause as she saw him. What else did they expect? He figured it would be better to meet them separately before introducing Dinah to the whole clan. Get this part over with, and start next.
Besides, he knew that the rest of the clan would leave them alone while they were talking. That would guarantee some privacy.

Dinah spent a lot of their walk looking around, taking in the lands that would be her home now- though she wasn't sure how well she would come to know each part where they kept moving. It would definitely take more time because of it. But where she was used to being a rogue, it might help the transition back into pride life.
"Huh?" she said, looking to Muujiza and then to where she looked, "Oh." She felt a flutter of anxiety but she was determined. She had to get over it.
"At least we can't miss him," she murmured.

"Y-yeah." She still couldn't believe how well the incident had gone. Perhaps he wasn't as stern as she had previously thought. He was still known to be nervous of strangers, but he accepted Dinah easily. Well...she was really freaked out when he showed up. Hard to imagine someone being a threat with real terror on her face. She sighed. Well, best to get this started with! She let the way up to the wanidatsi, bowing to him slightly out of respect. "We've returned," she said.
Skan nodded. "Yes, you have." He said with a chuckle. "I'm glad to see you two here." He turned to Dinah, nodding towards her as well. "I'm certain that you're feeling better? I wanted to start this slowly, unlike last time we met. I'm Skan Kanati, it is a pleasure to meet you."

Following after Muujiza, Dinah knew she ought to mimic the bow but she was still too nervous to manage to do exactly what she knew was best. She did good to keep it together so far, especially knowing she was never like this before. It made it so much harder to just go along with it.
"Yes, thank you," she said, managing a smile, "My name is Dinah, pleased to meet you."
It wasn't that bad.

Muujiza didn't know what to say at the moment. She was just grateful that it had turned out so perfectly. She still wondered why, though. Skan was always wary of strangers, if only because of the past. He didn't live through it, but he acted like he had. Did Skan See that far into the past? It was an unsettling thought. She wondered how well he controlled his Sight, and what it told of the pride's future.
"I'm glad," was Skan's first reply. He paused for a moment, making sure the words in his head would sound correct once spoken. "I'm certain that with you still willing to meet with me, you desire to become one of the Ela'wadiyi. Muujiza is correct in that I am normally wary of strangers that come into our land. The history that you will here in the future should explain that. But I sense no ill-will from you. I can only guess that you hope to find a place where you may find comfort. Do you wish to stay within the Bird Clan, with Muujiza?"

Dinah glanced over to Muujiza while Skan paused to consider his words, giving her a shaky smile, too. It was hard to figure out exactly what Muujiza was thinking, she was very quiet and thoughtful looking.
"Yes, I'd like to stay with Muujjiza," she said, looking back at Skan. He wouldn't ask that way if it wasn't OK, right?

Muujiza was glad. She was starting to feel a little protective over Dinah. She had been helping her for so long, and Muujiza wanted to continue that. Only not over someone that needed help, but to someone that wanted it. And she thought that Dinah wouldn't turn her down. "Perfect," she said as she smiled at Dinah. "Thank you so much, wanidatsi Skan. I really appreciate it."
Skan nodded to Dinah. "Well done. The matter is settled for now. I am glad to have you within the Bird Clan."
And he turned to Muujiza. "Just Skan is alright, we aren't in any sort of formal situation. If you don't mind, I have something I would like to ask you later," he said, a bit cryptic.
"Oh," Muujiza said. "Alright." Whatever could it be?

She normally didn't get so attached to others but now Dinah was glad to have Muujiza. She'd find some way to repay her for all the help, she just wasn't sure how she would do it. And it would be better, having a friend, if this wasn't where it stopped. But Dinah was doing her best not to let the possibilities worry her, no point worrying until you knew. If she did, she might not be able to keep so quiet about what happened.
"Thank you," she said, and then she glanced over to the other lioness when Skan said he wanted to talk to her, blinking. Was Muujiza still in trouble?

"You can search me out after introducing Dinah to the others. Make sure she is comfortable before seeking me out." His tail twitched as he turned to leave. "I will see the two of you again soon." And with that, he left.
Muujiza blinked, watching him walk away. "I'll be honest, he isn't what I thought he was. A little nicer than I expected." She turned to Dinah with a soft smile. "Well, best to start out slow, right?"

Dinah looked back and forth between the other two, settling on Skan once again as he turned and walked away. She looked back when Muujiza commented, nodding.
"He seems nice," she said, recognizing privately that this was a very conservative remark on her part and feeling the same awkwardness she felt when she noticed things that had changed about herself. At least it wasn't obvious to anybody else, she decided.
"Right," she agreed, looking around and taking a deep breath, ready to get back to real life.
