I'm thinking of a zOMG mini-event or maybe even some attack mob(a certain enemy that is produced when a certain enemy attacks with it) called Tiny Bubbles. When they are struck or gets in contact with something they will blow up, dealing strong AOE knockback that can knock players to the side or even up to the other screen, and knock the players out.

I haven't thought of this one much so it lacks a lot.
Opinions?

My first thought is that they'd make a great AoE deterrent - perfectly harmless little bubbles that 'pop' with AoE and Knockback. Not sure where you'd use them, but they'd certainly keep players from mobbing... sweatdrop

I thought about probably SS. O:

Seems the most natural place right now, you're right. Is there anywhere in SS we particularly want to punish mobbing tactics?

I am unsure if we should still pass this since they're already making a way to slow down SS.

Hmm . . . should we pass it now?
Oh yeah, I did intend the bubbles to do no damage, so did you know they're harmless because I didn't write about damage or because you read my mind? ninja

I suppose it depends - they're deterring completely separate tactics (currently, they're making speed deterrents, while this would be a mobbidng deterrent), but it does make it a little difficult for players to understand just how they're supposed to be going at it - if both ways are wrong, what's right? gonk

Of course, being that it is the last level of the game, I'm personally willing to accept that. It would boil down to whether or not the devs want players mobbing enemies in SS - if they're fine with that, then there's no need for the Bubbles.

Of course, if that's the case, that just means we need to find somewhere else for them to work... wink

WEE!!!!!! whee
Guess we should pass it now then. :3

Also, additional idea:
When we get knockbacked to the corals we should be rooted, not just rooted as an status effect, but rooted that the rooting itself would be our target. The longer we are rooted, the more our health will drop and our rings will slowly lock one by one, and daze eventually, we even need to destroy the rooting(corals actually) around us to be freed, and even need to destroy the corals that cover us then to be able to be defibbed(you can reawake in null though).

What do you think? :3

So basically, what you are suggesting is a new kind of animated for the sea, yes?
A mob of tiny little beautiful bubbles.
Knockback sounds fair to me, on one condition: that they do something about the "stuck" glitches first. I am all for being a good sport about getting the damage that animated are *supposed* to do in a game, but when it causes glitches that are not supposed to be part of the game, that is plain annoying. So, yes to knockback, on the condition that it doesn't cause players to be glitched!

I doubt creating a new animated like this could be quickly added to the changes they are already in the process of making to the seas, but I suppose it can never hurt to pass on ideas. It would probably take a lot more work than what they can do on short notice, especially on account that you want the abilities of these animated to be something that has not been done before, namely slowly locking people's rings one by one. That is something completely different from the sleep, scare and dazed effects that we currently have, namely knocking out our abilities all at once.

I like the idea of having to first destroy the corals and roots before you can defib someone, but technically that is already the case now: if a crew member is dazed, and there are still enemies in the screen, any player will first take out the enemies and make the screen safe before trying to defib someone, no?

All in all it sounds indeed more like something that would deter people from attacking with AoE - and this seems not to be what many people expect from the "new" SS. I've heard so many people say that they will be happy to "break out the fire rain" again - and this seems to be a suggestion to deter people from using AoE? What exactly is it you want people to do in SS, then. Attack each and every animated carefully and thoughtfully one-by-one?

I think that this might just be a little counterproductive to what most people want, because we hear so many complaints about sEB set and stuff; imagine that these bubbles caused so much trouble if you used AoE, I would worry that people would become even stricter about what rings to take into SS because if AoE makes it so dangerous, everyone would be like "No fire rain! No water balloon! No this! No that! You'll kill the crew if you take these rings!" even more rabidly than some are already about the set, now. I can see it ending in a set like "hack, mantis, bump, *insert rest of sEB set here*" and no other rings allowed AT ALL!

But personally, I don't mind the challenge. Maybe it is something that should ONLY be added to hard or even extreme level, though.

(Ok I hope everything I wrote makes sense, and if it doesn't it is your own fault, Reg, for rushing me over meebo!) lol

Not much of an original idea though. o3o
but it works.

I mean it in the sense that even if the mob's already gone you need to take out the coral that's still growing, even if you're dazed(it's sipping out your health when you're in it). Then get defibbed after it.

It's up to them how they'll move through it.

Also, I'm suggesting it as way for either a new Hard mode or extreme mode, normal would stay the same as what we'll know.

But personally, I don't mind the challenge. Maybe it is something that should ONLY be added to hard or even extreme level, though.

I do not understand. If you're dazed, you have no health to be sipped out, and you have no powers to destroy coral. Or how exactly are you seeing this? :s

Crewmates. o3o
That's if they don't awaken first.
The thing is that if they're going to use revives or defib, then others would need to free them from the corals. That shows actual teamwork unlike the scenes where greedy members leave 1 person behind because they can't keep up.

Also, the point of innovation is not to give what the players expect, it's to help them innovate as well. Players needs tactics as well. Wasn't zOMG dumbed down once because players aren't willing to play with tactics, and just do brute attacking?

Maybe I am indeed envisioning a much extremer amount of bubbles than you were imagining, yes. XD I'm seeing bubbles, bubbles everywhere, lethal bubbles, ferocious bubbles, engulfing, surrounding, immersing... ok I'll stop now. xd
I'm not sure where you are coming from with that first comment... I'm the first to welcome new challenges. mrgreen

1. You get to be stuck in Animated corals.
2. They will sip your life out of you and grow, and even grow still when you're dazed(grow by health)
3. The longer you are covered in corals the more you can't use your rings one by one as long as you are in the coral.
4. You can destroy them yourself but that is as long as your rings aren't all locked.
5. They need to destroy the coral so they can defib you effectively.
6. I thought of that maybe you can revive or can be defibbed while in the coral but you'd still be trapped in it with your rings locked so they still need to destroy the coral.
7. When you're dazed, you can awaken into the null even if you're in the coral when dazed.
