New RP, one person needed! Pirate story, no real plot just yet, making it up as I go along. Outside Character needed, one not of the current crew. Male or female it doesn't matter, am perfectly fine with Yaoi, so long as it's kept to Guild Rules and isn't explicit. Literate RPer, PLEASE. PM me the Profile of your character and a short example paragraph of how you RP.
Name: William Edwards Age: 23 Appearance: Short, shaggy black hair, deep sea-green eyes, tan skin. Fit, but not excessively muscled, and lean. Wears a long sleeved white cotton shirt, top two buttons undone, black pants, and flexible boots. Carries several hidden daggers, and one cutlass at his side. A black leather strap keeps his hair out of his eyes, matching gauntlets wrapping securely around his forearms, with steel plates on the top to block blades. Abilities: anything the crew can do, elemental affinity of water, excellent sense of direction. Ship: (imagine the black pearl) Dark wood, with a green so dark as to be black for trim. Sails are also dark green, emblasoned with the captain's symbol (a blue trident over a red circle, with runes along the shaft). Named the Basilisk for it's sleek build, stealth, speed, and the cunning of it's captain.
William "Aigua" Edwards, Captain of The Basilisk, had lived on water for most of his life. He breathed the salty air, rode the waves like an otter, and loved his harsh mistress, the Sea. When on land, he was grumpy and irritable, longing for the creak of the boards, or the slap of water on wood. A renowned pirate, he had a crew of some of the best men, all hard-working and loyal. A fair captain, he made sure to make port at least every few months, knowing that his men loved women and booze as much, if not more than the sea, though She was a close companion to them all.
Morning found said man standing at the helm, a content smile playing across his lips as the night crew scurried about, readying the ship for the day. Soon, the day crew would be up and about while the night crew slept, and they would once again sail for port. The men were getting tense and grumpy, something he didn't like in his crew, and so they would put to shore for a day or two to relax and have fun. Not that William thought of shore as fun. He would much rather deal without it, personally, but he knew that his crew was not of the same mind. And so he compromised. In return for a loyal crew and swift sailing, they were treated to women and booze for two nights, every few months, just to keep the men relaxed and happy. It worked well for them. And so, as the sun broke the horizon, William shouted orders, directing the night crew to sleep and the day crew to rise, for breakfast to be made and the ship cleaned. The Basilisk turned her rudder, heading for land with her captain at the helm, the wind in his hair and the waves rushing up behind her.
They made port at about half noon, in a roudy town called Argent, home of the realms best rum and prostitutes. Neutral Ground, Pirates could make port here and not be captured, so long as they behaved and didn't break any of the fairly simple town rules made for pirates. 'Don't kill anyone, don't rape the women, and no fires.' After securing the ship, William dismissed the men with a wave of his palm, settling causally on the railing to watch as they darted off, eager to spend the loot they had gathered.

Name: Mae Age: 19 Abilities: A master at trickery and disguises, Mae can become whoever it is that she wants to become. And though she's rather lazy, if something needs done, she can do almost anything. Personality: Smart and witty, Mae has a comeback for almost anything. Especially if it's something that she doesn't want to do. She has a raging temper that can break at any time, but other than that she's usually perfectly calm. Other: Mae's currently wanted for several different crimes across the country. ThievesMae watched from her perch on the top of the bar, her favorite place in the entire city. The pirates were coming in. She smirked, tucking a strand of her long brown hair behind her ear. “Perfect.” She smirked. Things were always thrown into chaos and excitement with their coming, Mae’s favorite time to do some looting and selling. Some people hated the pirates coming, and to them Mae said, “Just leave!” But most people, like her, loved it. Not only did they provide a cover for her devious acts, they were someone new to fool and to drink with. Two of Mae’s favorite past times. “Time to get a move on.” Mae smiled, sliding down the roof and jumping on the ground, brushing herself off. Though it was only noon and the real party didn’t usually start until after dark, there was still lots Mae could do. First, to the pirate ship. If they had left any money, she could grab some. “Ahh. The stupidity of some.” Mae sighed with a smile. “It brings joy to my heart.” She tied a rope that she had grabbed to a large rock, tossing it up onto the side of the boat and tugging it to make sure it was secure, it was. “Tally ho.” Mae grinned, moving from the dock and starting onto the rope. She had done this millions of times, and was quickly pulling herself over the side of the ship and brushing herself off. “Now…” Mae said, her hands on her hips. “Where is that treasure hidden?”

Footsteps on the deck had William turning from his perch, suspicious. All of his crew were on land, and he was alone. Scowling faintly at the thought of some arrogant snot thinking to steal from him, The Aigua, he strode forward on silent feet, drawing his cutlass. Rounding the mast, he slid the blade behind him, angled up to lie along his spine as he appeared for all the world like a gentleman at court, despite the clothing that suggested otherwise. "Well this is an interesting surprise. Not an hour ashore and already I have a lass aboard my ship. Who are you, and what do you want?" He asked, sea-green eyes narrowing slightly.

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves “Your ship? Ahhh. So the captain stayed behind? How noble of you. Keeping your ship safe.” Except for there would be no reason o keep your ship safe if there was nothing on it, now would there be?Mae reasoned with herself. She wanted to smirk, but kept it inside. Mae noticed his arm behind him, like someone at a royal court would do. Ah. The ignorance. You think this is my first time dealing with pirates? You think I don’t know your little tricks, hmmm? “Gina is my name.” Mae lied, though she said it like it really was her name. A brilliant liar, at least she liked to think so. And all the people who she blindly fooled and robbed must have thought so, too. “I just wanted to see your ship. My father’s a ship maker, you see. But all of his ships keep sinking.” The lie was rolling. Mae looked away, as if she was embarrassed. She folded her hands behind her, close to her waist, where her sword was tucked expertly. In case he would try anything. “I wanted to see how your ship was made. We’re going down fast. No money, and all of the customers are going elsewhere. I didn’t know I needed permission. I wasn’t planning anything bad. I just wanted to help my dad.” Mae’s eyes turned back towards the man. They looked ashamed and sad at the same time. But behind that ruse was laughing eyes. “Can you show me around? Or.. I suppose I would leave if you really wanted me to be gone…” But Mae made no move backwards. She wasn’t about to leave a golden opportunity for thievery. …I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

William eyed her suspiciously before relaxing minutely, slipping the cutlass into another sheath at the center of his back. "I do not often have guests aboard the Basilisk, but I suppose I could make an exception." He answered quietly. Something about the girl sent his senses tingling, but he could find no fault with her tale and so decided to keep an eye on her. "Shall we start with the hull, or would you prefer to see the rigging first?"

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves Mae forced a bit grin. “Thank you so much!” She gasped. What a complete idiot. How does he keep his boat afloat? I mean really. “Well.” Mae walked forwards, closer to the man, as if she was thinking. “I suppose that the hull is his main problem…” That, and the fact that he doesn’t exist, of course. “But I myself prefer..” Mae broke off, she had gone far enough to see that his sword was in its place. So she made her move, reaching and grabbing for his sword, sliding it out of its sheath and into her right hand, and pulling her own sword out of its place with her left hand. She was fully turned towards him now, and she took a step closer to him, her arms ready to strike at any moment, if he made any movement. Which she was almost positive that he would. “How idiotic can you be?” Mae hissed. “Even I know that you never let anyone, especially a woman, on your ship. It’s bad luck.” Mae smirked. “And I think that your luck just ran out.” Mae said in a sticky sweet voice. “Oh darn.” …I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

William simply raised an eyebrow, his suspicions confirmed, and smirked. "You think that... but there's a reason I stay behind." He sneered, backstepping swiftly out of range of her weapons, two daggers sliding out of their sheathes into his waiting palms. "I don't hold faith in luck, my dear, and neither does my crew." With a fierce grin, he darted sideways, glad for once that all of the really good haul had been left elsewhere. A ship piled with gold did not sail well after all.

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves “I just thought you stayed behind because you could never get a girl. Even a prostitute.” Mae shot back smoothly, smirking and shaking her head. Mae moved sideways as he did, keeping across from him. “Adorable, really. Two little daggers against two long swords? You throw them, and they’re over the side of the ship. You reach out and try to hit me, and your arm is cut off.” Mae rolled her eyes. “Have a brain, honestly. You act like you’re some big intimidation. Newsflash, bucko. You’re not.” Mae took the man’s Cutlass and tossed it over the side of the boat, all the while keeping her eyes on him. There was always a possibility that, when she was fighting with two swords, that he would get one and be even with her. That she didn’t want. And she was much more used to her own sword, and he wouldn’t be able to get it out of her hand easily. “Have fun gettin’ that back.” Mae smirked a bit. She was enjoying this. “You should really be at the bar like all good captain-playing children.” Mae hissed. “You’re no match for someone like me.” …I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

William merely sighed, rolling his eyes and snickered. "Well now, that's not hardly fair. Those fine women ashore hold no interest for a man of the sea such as myself. Besides..." He smirked again, holding out a hand. A tendril of water rose from the side of the deck, hovering over to him with his sword held in it's grasp. He took the hilt, slipping one dagger back into it's place, and snickered. "I am not without my own abilities." Sliding forward, he aimed the cutlass low, towards her legs, while his dagger rose, ready to block her own strike.

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves Mae jumped back, almost not in time, as the slice came at her legs. She was astounded. Nobody should have been able to do that. Her eyes blazes a bit, but also a bit of admeration and wonder showed there. Mae kept her sword diagonally across her chest. "I do believe that's called cheating." Mae said slowly, taking another step backwards. Her heels met with the side of the boat. "Though, most of me is actually in awe of your odd abilities, it's hardly fair. I would have thought of you as a more fair and respectable man than that." Mae's eyes glimmered a bit. Fighting was so exhilerating, expecially with such a formidable opponent. But for now she wouldn't get any of their loot. Later, perhaps. But certianly not now. "I suppose this is goodbye." Mae said, stepping up onto the railing of the boat, holding her hat to her head, and falling backwards off of the boat and into the water down below. She could do things to burn time, plus she could gain the trust of some of his probably drunken crew. They would be easy enough to spot. Mae would just have to charm her way into that boat. Because she would get in. Maybe it was a pride thing now, maybe it wasn't only for money anymore. But that didn't deterr Mae. …I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

Smirking a little as he watched her disappear, he tucked his sword away. "Kind though I may be, a Pirate I still am..." He murmured to the wind, thinking. After a few minutes, he turned, climbing swiftly into the rigging and perching atop the crows nest, giving him a peaceful, if windy, view of the town. Below, the water around the boat swirled, feeling the call of tightly leashed power, thin, almost invisible tendrils seeming to reach up and caress the wood of the Basilisk's hull. None would get aboard unless he allowed it, now that he knew someone wanted something from his ship.

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves Mae made her way onto the land, moving through the streets experltly. To the side of the house where she had made her base of sorts. It really wasn't that hard, you just had to make sure all of the rocks were in place on the outside, and form a false botom to the flooring. The poepled didn't even know she was there. Her place was small, snug. It kept warm and she could sleep comfortably in it. She changed out of her wet clothes, tying her damp hair back into a ponytail. She kept her hat thought, that was the one thing that she liked to always keep on her head. Not only did it distinguish her, it hid the scar that perched abover her left ear. Though her hair usually covered it, her had made sure it was invisible. The last thing she needed was questions. Mae climbed back out of her little hole, replacing the rock, and made her way across the small port towan and into the bar. Mae's eyes glimmered. It was time to get down to buisiness, this wasn't playtime anymore. "Captian." Mae muttered, working her way to the bar. "You're about to have a shark attack."
…I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

The bar was rowdy, almost too loud for those accustomed to a somewhat quiet life at sea. Sure the waves were loud, and the yelling of the crew made some noise, but that was more like background music. First mate and the closest man to Captain Aigua, one James 'Hornet' Mauser, sat against a wall, drinking from a bottle of spiced rum and watching the rest of the crew. Since the Captain hardly ever came ashore, he was to watch the crew, make sure they didn't get too drunk as to spill secrets, or to disappear with suspicious bints. He snorted into a shot glass, aiming a glare at someone who dared to reach for his bottle. He'd paid for it dammit, it was HIS.

I am not a pretty girl. That is not what I do… Thieves Mae made her way onto the land, moving through the streets The loud, rowdy, hot atmosphere of the bar made Mae feel more at home. She felt like she could breath easier. She found herself unconciously bumping into people, stealing from their back pockets without much intention to. But it would be alright, since none of them seemed to notice or mind. Plus, if she got caught stealing her drink, which hardly ever happened, she would have enough to cover it. Mae noted where the crew was, taking a particular interest in one of the stronger, more in charge looking man by the wall. Mae set her traget, and slipped back into the crowd. She made her way over to the bar, walking calmly into the back and grabbing a small bottle for herself before moving away and mingling again, opening it and taking a drink. Her fingers always seemed to move to the better ones, and now was no different. Her fingers had taste, even without her mind giving them direction. Gina found herself suddenly at the wall beside the man. She was trying to decide how much he had drank out of that bottle already, and if now would be a good time to make her move, but she couldn't quite tell. She would wing it. Even if Mae did mess this up, she doubted he would remember her later. Mae lightly tapped the man's arm to get his attention, letting her fingers linger there for a moment longer than they had to. "Hey." She had to shout to be heard over the rest of the shouts and loud laughing that filled the bar.
…I ain't no damsel in distress. And I don't need to be rescued.

James turned slightly, considering the pretty young lass who had tapped him. he wasn't surprised, lots of the town women liked to hit on the pirates, but this one didn't look like the usual. Curiosity spiked, he took another swig of rum and raised an eyebrow at her. "What do you want?" Quick and to the point, that was James' style, and he liked it. It usually got him what he wanted. Never mind that wishy washy gentlemanly stuff that Aigua usually employed, effective though it was.
