The beaches were warm and humid, giving a good breeze of sea air. The sand was hot under his paws as he panted, laying out without a care in the world. The fruit having been long gone, his buzz was starting to wane, and he couldnt have that.. Not today. He had nothing planned and it was time to search for more of the fruit he could leave out in the sun. He was also tired of being alone. His thoughts not quite clear, as for all he knew he was seeing double of his own paws, he managed to spark an idea to his head. What was better, than having his own crew? He could be a Captain, and a decent one at that.. If decent was considered being able to loot and pillage. He didnt mind that at all. But how much pillagin' could be done with more than one lion. And so the idea was born..
[Later]
The group of lions that surrounded him, cheered out loud at his thoughts. He had managed to find a few ruffian, drunken lions that were just as happy to cause trouble as the one who had started the idea. They liked trouble, and with all of them having a similar mindset..What was better than banding together?
"We can be somethin' mates! We can actually be a marauding pirate crew! Instead of lone, bored rogues. Whose with me?" He asked, and cheers were emitted once more. What a motley group they were, and he had no desire for it to be different. He was willing to work with anyone. So long as he was Cap'n, he had no issues with who or what was among his men. His crew.
"What of the loot?" Came a voice to the side, questioning as he looked around the lands. There were plenty of caves, large expanses of beach and land. The water rushed the shore in quick bursts and then drug what it could hold back into the murky depths.
"Yeah! How do we know we can be trustin' ye?" Came another voice, a bit deeper than the last.
"Because, mate. What better way to enjoy this thing we do, than team up and make sure that we're all taken care of, right? Dont you want protection? Dont you want to call yourself a crew?" He asked, grinning ear to ear knowing that would definitely sound good to them. Every pirate wanted to belong to its own crew. And he was just the lion to start such a crew.
"I like your idea...but there's one thing I don't understand. How are you here, tellin' me about it?" Asked another, more skeptical lion. His brows furrowed in thought.
"Sea turtles, mate." Came the response, and he nodded. Yes. The time had come, and he had a crew, and they would cause trouble to that Horizon.

Events Celebrated, or seen in high regard:
Día Borracho: "Drunk Day". The day of rest. The pirates do no work this day, and spend it lazying around, eating their fermented fruits, and feasting on the meats they desire. On this day, there is no captain, or crew. They are all 'brothers' and are on the same page as each other.
The Dawning: The hunting of turtles. Its for when adolescents are trying to prove themselves, they have to go out and find a turtle. Its a great honor to bring the turtle back, and the shell is considered a good luck token, as well as proving you have what it takes to be crew. Females also have days like this to prove themselves capable of being crew.
Día de Fortuna: "Fortune Day". When the pirates return home. The females are expected to have meats and fruits of all types ready for their pleasure. The females then must warmly greet the Crew, and take great lengths to not upset them this day.

Rule 1: NEVER. Ever. Call a Pirate, a Stormborn, or Viking. It is incredibly insulting to the pirates, and vice versa.
Rule 2: Live for your Pride, not for yourself.
Rule 3: Do not Steal from your Crew
Rule 4: If you find a trinket or treasure you do not tell the Head-master about, you will be punished so far as not being allowed to eat for that day, and losing all the Loot you gained with the Crew within the next few days.
Rule 5: To disobey is to Mutiny.
Ships: There arent any ships of course, however there are 'clans' of lions. They team together and are considered a ship in themselves. Theres a captain to every ship. And the one who runs the entire 'fleet' of ships, is the Commodore. Each Captain answers to the Commodore, and though Captains are head of their ships, they can still be considered incapable, and demoted to a Crew Member, and replaced at the Commodores command.
Valued 'Treasures': Anything of any kind of worth. If the captain and commadore see it as appealing, it is of worth. They share the loot, however the Captain and Commadore both take two shares, to each crew members one share. Treasures can include, but are not limited to, Turtle shells, Fruits, Foods, Pelts, Trinkets.
Vault: A cave between the pride, and the ocean, that holds all the loot and everything the pride gains. Before their return home, everything is reported to the captain, and he is the one who gives the order to place it in the vault. He keeps a heavy eye on it however, and if anything ends up missing, he will not be afraid to bring pain to find the missing loot.
Fermented Fruits/Foods Used by the Crew and Captain in order to get the 'buzz' of intoxication. Its one of their main desires, and is seen as highly valuable. __________________________________________________ Religon: They really just dont have any sense of care in terms of further religon. Though there are a few Dieties theyve been known to mention.
Death: To die is a great honor, though not alot care is put into the thought of death. You are expected to defend your 'family' and captain to the point of death. You must be willing to die for them in order to be considered a great pirate. Though they really do not mourn the death, unless the pirate in question has drowned. To drown, is to displease the Yemaya, Goddess of Water, and seen as a way to trap the soul where you shall always suffer the fear and pain of the drowning.
Marriage:
Marriage is allowed, though its not really celebrated. One must have permission to mate for life from the Fortune Teller [In this case, Oceane'], and she will read her shells and bones and try to see if theyre fit for each other. [No worries, unless you want, she doesnt say no xD]
Flings: Sleeping around with others isnt seen as anything bad. In fact, its quite common among the pirates. They see the more you get around, the more valuable you are.
Breeding: All female cubs born to the pride, would be raised with the mothers, and the fathers would have little to no contact with them. All male cubs would be seperated from their mothers at Adolescence, to be raised and trained by the pirates. The captain may even take a part in the training, though its only if he feels the adolescent male is going to be an asset, more than just another member of the pirate crew.
Females: The females are not allowed on the excursions the males go on. UNLESS they can prove themselves to the Crew. It would require going on their own missions to bring back trinkets of their own. If it pleases the crew, they are to join the ranks of Crew member. Depending on how well the females do with the raids, a female captain COULD be assigned, however theyd be in charge of only other females that were crewmates. If they have no desire to be a Crew member, They are to remain in the denning lands and raise the cubs, and do the hunting. They are to have the food ready for the males upon their return. As well as hunting down fruits to leave in the sun and allow to ferment, so that the Crew has something they will enjoy. Some females get special interest from the males, though if the Captain chooses a female as his consort, she is the only female that no other Crew member may touch. All the other females are open to all the males of the pride, save for the one that the Captain takes as his own. [Though he will never marry and only grow a favoritism towards her], This also excludes mated pairs. This favoritism can be short lived, however, and she can easily be exchanged for a new or different member of the pride if someone else should catch his eyes.
Males: Males are what holds this pride together. They do the scouting, pillaging, and basically everything that needs done. Any treasures that are found are only split among the males. The treasures can be anything from tokens of gold that are found, or even food items they choose to claim as such. They are considered to be strong, and brave, though only to each other.
Non-Lions/Hybrids: Are allowed. They are seen as any other lion so long as they can hold their own. If you are unable to keep to being loyal, you could be considered a slave. However they do give you a chance at first.
Homosexuality: Is not allowed. They see it as disturbing, and think its a slight against the captain and the crew. They dont mind females that like other females, however males liking males in this pride would not exist. If it does, dont let the crew find out, otherwise you would be mutinied.
Names: You can be named whatever you like, however when you join the crew you gain a Pirate Name. A name the pirates know you by, and they will not use your real name. Far as theyre concerned, the new name will be your real name.
Theft/Mutiny: If you steal from your own pride member, then you are seen as commiting Mutiny. Once you have commited an act of mutiny, there is no way to get out of it. The captain deals your punishment, and it can be anything as allowing the crew to beat you until theyre satisfied, yet leave you alive.. or depending on the crime, you could be sentenced to death, or banished. Banishment would mean being run off, and if you are seen by a member again, they are allowed to attack and kill on sight.
Leaving the pride: Pirates are basically free to do as they wish so long as they stay within the rules. If they leave permanently, then they would be seen as mutinous. But they are quite able to come and go as they please
Joining the pride: You must pass a certain test. The test would involve you being able to take something from another lion. As in, going out, finding a rogue, and taking something that would be of value. Or, you can bring a trinket or something of value as a token to join.

Ranks:
Commodore aka Pirate King: This rank is the highest rank possible. He is in charge of all the 'Ships' within the pride. Everyone answers to him, just as much their captain. When the crew is in their homeland, the Commodore is the one that runs things, as the Captains have no rank above a crewmember in their homeland.
Captain: The one in charge of 'Ships'. They have one ship to their name, and are in charge of running it properly, and are expected to do their duty to bring home daily loot. This is only for when they are on their 'missions.' Once the missions are complete and they return to their homeland, the Captain is just one of the crew.
Fortune Teller: Already occupied Rank, that is full of mystery ninja
First Mate: They answer to the captain, but keep the ships in order. They report anything that is out of place, or anything that isnt right among the crew to the Captain. Theyre in charge of making sure the Captain knows everything important.
Crewman: This is the average rank, and the rank that is the most common among the pride. They do the dirty work, as in the Plundering, stealing, killing, and they do it with pride. They are closely watched by the First mate, and are considered to uphold a certain sense of honor, and not deviate from the rules. [Females CAN be of this rank, they would just need to be roughnecks, and strong willed. And approved by the Commodore]
Corsair: Most females of the pride. They attend to the males needs usually, and are the ones that keep the males happy when the males are home.
Hunters: Also a rank for females.
New Bloods: All cubs within the pride are this rank.
Missioneers: The adolescent males that train to become a Crewman.
Slaves: The lowest of the low. They are seen as weak, and bad luck, and are not allowed to ever converse with the Commadore or Captain of any ship. They are however, allowed to serve and take care of the Crew upon their return home like the females.
