It was a steamingly hot day out in the Rogue lands plains as Mapenzi slowly stalked through the tall, dry grass; her dark magenta eyes were locked on some tiny prey far ahead that was resting under a scrawny, twisted tree from the heat. Mapenzi tried to be as slow and quiet as she could, not wanting to draw attention to her location and spook the critter. Usually, Mapenzi was not very focused unless she was hunting for food because she had forgotten to eat, or concentrating on a thought. You couldn't really call her slow-witted, but she seemed that way a lot of the time.

"I'm gonna getcha..~" The young lioness thought to herself, tongue out as she neared her target.

Mapenzi was getting lcoser to her target, making quick bursts through the grass, crouching low to the ground and staying out of sight. "I'm gonna getcha!" She thought louder to herself, eyes sharp and focused on lunch; a tiny little bird that she could pop in her mouth and swallow with a gulp. Her striped tail flicked and JUST as she was about to pounce...

"Well hello there."

The young lioness suddenly lost all her will to jump and practically shot up, sitting up in the grass from the male voice she heard. Oh yeah, she could tell it was a man. The bird quickly noticed this action of it's predator and took off, flying away. Mapenzi's jaw dropped a little at the lost of lunch and groaned, ears folding back, was rigdged and stiff as she looked up to see a purely white/lavender tinted lion coming her way.

"Don't panic don't panic don't panic...!" she mumbled to herself lowly. Was she going to greet him back as well? Didn't seem like it so far.

Her dark magenta eyes looked at the male lions purple ones. A hint of fear in them but she blinked away, shaking herself out of her frozen daze and stuttered strongly, not giving him any eye contact. "N-n-n-no N-no thank y-y-you... I-I can f-f-feed my-myself sir..." Her tongue felt dry from all this nervous tension being built up, but the fact that it was a lion who offered her such a service; it could have been a trick of his to try and lure her in. Mapenzi was slightly paranoid of male lions due to past events, so she was usually very skittish, just like now.

"T-T-Th-Thanks f-f-for the offer th-though..." the young lioness managed to mumbled to Raimi. She knew not his name, but was hoping she wouldn't have to go through the awkward form of introducing herself. Her tail thrashed lightly in the grass, sweeping it and making it bend.

Backing away slightly, she craned her neck down towards Raimi, who had knelt in the grass to look less large. It was almost like... he was being submissive to her. Which was a shock, honestly, beause usually it was Mapenzi doing this sort of thing towards male lions and the like. She thought that maybe if he was nice enough to do this she could at least make an attempt to be more open. "M-M-Ma-Mapenzi... t-that's my name Mister Raimi." Mapenzi stuttered softly again, her wayward eyes glancing to him now and then as he apologized. She then looked about the field that was in her eyesight. Nope, no prey to hunt. She sighed a little and raised her ears slightly.

Mapenzi felt the heat of defeat and embarassment settle down over her face, making her blush under her fur and her ears burn from it as they flattened down again, her head stooped low and she looked away and moving to the side as she murmured a reply to the large, white lion. "I-I don't remember much, sir Raimi, I hate to admit. I... I just left my mother one day, don't remember when, but I don't think I remember her teaching me how to h-hunt much..." She was stuttering less, which was a very good sign. The bad thing was that Mapenzi seemed to go through dazed states, and her mind seemed to wipe itself clean a lot of the time. Most of her life had been a blur from what she could remember.

WOW. He had his own CUBS? He must have been pretty old in her mindset to have a family. Her eyes wandered about up a bit before looking back to the ground. Feeling defeated she laid down on all fours fully. "I... n-never seem to remember what I'm doing m-m-most of the time."

Mapenzi cocked her head to the side. A family? No, she knew she had a family. She just... wasn't quite sure who they were again. the image of them had slipped from her memory, it seemed. Her mother and siblings all nothing but blotched visions in the shape of lions. Or at least, thats what she could remember. And the shape of another lion, a BIG one. A male lion. She seemed to have dazed out in front of Raimi and her fur bristled at remembering the big lion in her vision who she was told was her uncle. After maybe a minute or 3, she shuddered and shook her head, trying to regain her focus. Uopn opening her eyes Raimi sat there still, a concerned look on his face.

"O-Oh!!" Mapenzi excalimed slightly, a little lost before remembering that this lion had come up to her... while doign what, she had forgotten already. "N-No sir. I have a family.... I just... don't remember them........ I think." A puzzled look came upon her face as she tried to remember, but was failing miserably. She sure must have looked odd saying that, then not recalling upon them well.

This all fell upon as... quite a shock to Mapenzi. Adoption? Being adopted into a pride? She couldn't even remember if she was ever IN a pride of her own or her familys. but from her memory, no. Never ever. Mapenzi was a Rogue, left out in the Roguelands to fend for herself though as slow minded as she seemed to be. She was just usually at a lost at what to do. It almost felt like she was abandoned by her previous family, but didn't think this was true. Her eyes glanced lowly over at Raimi.

"I-I've... never been in a pride. I don't think I'd know what to do. A-And you have a family to worry about. I don't think I'd want to butt in so suddenly on all that." Mapenzi gulped softly trying to coat her throat in what little saliva she had in her mouth. It was hot today as always and soon enough she would have wandered off to find water. But she was busy actually being social with a MALE LION at the moment.

"W-What... pride do you come from, Raimi sir?" Her mind seemed curious about all this now that he had brought it up.

"Suka'Fumo... theater?" Mapenzi wasn't very familiar with the pride or what a "theater" was, for that fact. She has not gotten to know the arts at all during this lifetime of hers and now she seemed calm in the prescence of Raimi. Her stuttering stopped, so that was even BETTEr news now! though... she did seem a bit slow. Maybe she was handicapped in the head? No. Not at all. It just took her awhile to realize things, nothing too bad, right?

"Raimi, sir, whats a theater...?" That question was probably going to knock him off his feet!
