Stopping only for a brief second (true shop-til-you-drop fests didn't require rest), Elegancia placed her shopping bags on the extravagant marble pavement of Calico Lane to readjust her skirt. Adira didn't bat an eye; in fact, the two girls probably needed a break. They weren't as young as they used to be! Nowadays, they required food. Moreso for Elegancia, who could eat a truck filled with McDonald's. Stomach gurgling and churning, Elegancia began sheepishly, "Adira... would you mind terribly if we stopped to eat somewhere? Just for a little bit! And right after we could continue our shopping spree..."
No response.
"Well, geeze, Adira, you could just say no--" before she could finish, Adira had cut her off with a dramatic wave of her hand. Looking in the same direction as her friend, Elegancia noticed a rather handsome, golden-haired young man. Had she not been kissed just a few days prior, Elegancia might have been fawning all over the boy-- but as it stood, the auburn-haired heiress had another boy on her mind. "What's wrong?" Not a second later did she notice something strange. A strange, swirling purple aura pooling at the boy's feet.
Was he from the Negaverse?! If so, it was time to make-up into a sailor soldier! "What do we do?"

"Lets see what happens if we disrupt his movements a bit." She said it in hushed conversation to her companion before taking a couple of steps forward, just far enough to be in ear shot but not comfortably. Adira was going to try and force him to move.
"Excuse me, sir? I'm a bit lost and was wondering if you could help me?" It was a lie, of course, but only a small one. Both Adira and Elegancia knew the Calico Lane like the back of their hands, both during the daytime shopping hours, and after the sun set for patrol. Dietrich may have noticed something strange about the situation- both her general distance, and the fact that her bright blue eyes kept flicking towards his feet, intently looking to see if the shadow would make a move or not. She couldn't tell if it was a youma, but it was going to be an interesting experience if it was!

Dietrich was completely unaware of the attention he had attracted from the two girls and the aura that was apparently collecting around his feet. All that mattered was the book he had picked up from the bookstand he was standing at and looking through, his full and undivided attention on the words and pictures. Hmm, maybe he'd come back for this. It was a pretty good book on good places to go hiking and camping around the world but he couldn't quite remember if he had it already or not. He'd have to make sure and then hope this book was still here if it ended up he didn't have it! If it wasn't? Well, it wasn't meant to be.
Suddenly he felt eyes on him and he blinked, pausing in his reading and looking around. Who was staring at him? In a public place it shouldn't be out of the ordinary but it was fairly unnerving to feel stared at. Oh! There were girls coming to him! "Yes?" He put the book down on the stand and slipped his hands into his pockets. Lost? Oh dear. "Sure, of course! Where would you like to be?" He asked warmly, smiling with all the sincerity of someone who had no idea these girls had ulterior motives for being over here. Wait, why was the darker girl looking at his feet? Did he step in something? He self-consciously scraped his foot against the ground as if to wipe off whatever was underneath it, hoping he could make it look as nonchalant as possible. He probably failed at that but he tried. What was so interesting about his feet?

"Actually, disregard my friend," Elegancia interjected, "it's more like where we want you to go." The puddle of darkness began to spill out of the ground like it hadn't before, coiling around Dietrich's ankles and making their way up. Before the young man of Adonis-like beauty could make even a single peep, the shadowy goop had shrouded his entire body and covered him like a cocoon. "I knew it, he's a youma!" Elegancia sounded triumphant, as if she had the theory the entire time, and grabbed Adira by the wrist before running off to transform together.
The lovely duo re-appeared as their alter egos, Sailors Rosalind and Perseus. As always, Rosalind chose to be theatrical-- she stood atop a limousine, calling out while posing dramatically, "I cannot forgive such an awful youma! Disguising yourself as a handsome young man? In the name of Rosalind, you're going to be bounced like a bad check!" After that, Rosalind pushed herself forward, lunging off of the vehicle with a leg outstretched dramatically. A golden pump was aimed for the center of the shadowy glop thing, and if she could dig the heel in, great!
But something weird happened. Her kick definitely connected, but rather than hearing the typical youma groan, the sound of a young man squealing in pain erupted. It sounded muffled, but it was definitely noticeable. Pulling her leg out, Rosalind noticed that her pump was now stuck in the cocoon. "Hey!! Perseus, did you see that?! This thing ate my shoe!!" Rosalind was more concerned with her appearance than the sound she had just heard, of course.

"Wait Ele I-" Before Adira could get another word out, Elegancia had already transformed and run into the scene of the battle. Sighing, the girl quickly transformed into Sailor Perseus and headed back out, just to hear Rosalind complaining about her shoe.
"Rosalind! STOP attacking!" She'd heard the continued muffled squeaking of the 'youma' and Perseus wasn't convinced. "I don't think its all youma- I think the boy was real, and the youma is this...this...thing!" Somewhere inside was the young man who'd responded so nicely to her inquiry. Hopefully anyways.
"We need to find a way to pry it open." Standing near to the youma, Perseus closed her eyes and blew a kiss at the youma. "Illusion's Kiss." Turning back to her companion, Perseus looked concerned. "We can't attack the whole thing directly...hopefully my attack can disorient it enough to crack open on its own."

Was...that an insult? The brunette was being very odd. Dietrich frowned and wasn't quite sure he wanted to know where that girl wanted him to go, getting the feeling the answer would have been something akin to 'HELL!' But what had he done? He'd never seen either of these girls in his life! He couldn't possibly have done something to upset her, could he have? No! It just wasn't possible! But before he could argue his point something was suddenly very wrong. He felt something climbing his ankles and looked down to see what it was, giving a cry of surprise as he tried to lift his feet and kick the stuff away. What the hell was this!? He was encased in something, but what was it? Had that girl cursed him? Was she a witch?! He struggled and squirmed inside the strange goopy stuff, trying to free himself and failing dismally. He could hear voices, someone announcing their presence and berating something. Disguising yourself as a handsome young man? She thought he was handsome! Well if he wasn't encased in whatever the hell this thing was he would thank her!
Now what? Wait, did he hear heels clicking? What was going on? Was she coming to save him? Oh, thank the lo--"OW!" He yelped, the heel of the lady's shoe digging into his shoulder. It didn't piece the skin or make him bleed but still. OW. She was attacking him?! Why was she attacking him!?

"Ew! So this thing is, like, a purse...? And the boy inside is like the contents! We'll just need to dump it out, then." She watched Perseus blow her kiss, the magical lipstick sending a pulse of magical illusion energy towards the cocoon-like creature. Rosalind had forgot that Perseus was now capable of throwing her attacks-- the Super upgrades were really useful! Whatever the case, the kiss seemed to be effective against the creature. While it had been swirling and pulsing before, encircling the poor young man, it was now sluggish and somewhat droopy. "Now's our chance," she said flatly, "I suppose one of us ought to do something now, huh?"
And seeing as Perseus had just done her magic, Rosalind supposed it was her turn to do something. "What a bother this monster is," she thought, "preying on poor citizens. The nerve!" Poofy skirts bobbing up and down and she turned back and forth, Rosalind finally found something useful: a sizable branch. She could use it to slice the creature open, and then hopefully pull the poor man out.
If he was lucky, he would still have an ounce of energy left to live.
Trudging forward, Rosalind was ready to strike the creature-- with a gracefully efficient, downward strike, the youma seemingly split open, revealing a frightened young man. Extending a gloved hand, Rosalind called, "hurry up! Unless you'd like to stay in here?!"

Purse wasn't exactly the word she would have chosen for the shadow creature...bi-valve might have been more appropriate. But whatever it took for Sailor Rosalind to equate it to understand was fine with Perseus. "It would be helpful!"
The super sailor watched as Rosalind grabbed a branch and split the youma in half, what a perfect idea that had been. "Great job Rosalind." Perseus smiled, ever so thankful that it hadn't been a golden pump to do the job. She supposed that they both had come a long way since their first few battles together.
"We have to be careful about finishing it Rosalind- I don't think either of us want to be trapped inside like the first poor man it captured." Hopefully Rosalind's valiant attempt at a rescue would work, considering damaging the youma meant damaging the boy trapped inside of it as well. But the hard question was how they would go about doing it. Once the boy was clear, Rosalind perhaps could use her coins? Perseus could use her own attack another time at least, and slow it down a little. There just didn't seem to be a good way to go about it.

He was going to die. That's it. This was the end for him. Death by consumption by strange black blo--was that a shoe? Oh, it was the shoe he'd just been hit with. He'd just..hold onto this like it was some kind of lifeline to hope. What was going on? He didn't get it. Those girls seemed to know what this thing was. Was it eating him? It must have been. Yup. He was going to die. But...but if he died then his sister would be traumatized! First their parents, now him? No, he couldn't do that to her. He had to live, if not for himself then for his sister.
Dietrich began to stab at the creature from inside with the heel of the shoe, trying to pry it open himself. Like hell was he going to let this thing kill him! He had too much to live for, and anyone would be a fool to just give up on life! Before he knew it the thing itself opened up and he nearly tumbled right out, not hesitating to take the hand he spotted being held out to him and using it to pull himself out. "Of course I want out!" Dietrich gasped, fumbling out of the creature and landing on his knees in front of the fancily dressed brunette. Huh? Oh...this girl only had one shoe. He blinked and looked up at her and then down at the shoe in his hand, holding it up for her. "I believe this is yours?" Yeah, thanks for stabbing him in the shoulder with it.
He got up after that, stumbling a bit as he was in a hurry to stand and get away from the creature. Who were these girls? They were dressed so...oddly. What happened to the girls who had been here before? Did they run off to find help? He should hope they had! "Uh..thanks...what is that thing?"
