A-One walked up the slope of the beach, listening to the roar of the ocean slowly receding at his back and checking now and then to see that the others were following. He made his way between the low mounds of the first sand dunes at the top of the beach, stopping in the hollow just behind the first one. He was grateful for the protection of his uniform, scorched as it might be; without it, he was sure that the chill of the air would be uncomfortable.
He stood and waited for the rest of the group to follow him in, staying quiet until he was reasonably sure everyone had arrived.

[A-Two entering ... wherever the hell this is 8Db]
A-Two followed A-One, glancing back every so often to check if that totally uncool douche Z-11 was chasing them or not. She could see one of the other Alphas - Nine, was it? - but thus far it seemed they were safe...
Ugh. The stress was gnawing at her stomach.

[ A-Eleven ENTERING the thread ]
The group wasn't too far ahead of her and easy enough to follow. When A-One decided to stop, A-Eleven had slowed just a bit, taking in what of the scenery she could. That blasted fog seemed to like obscuring things here and there.
Things seemed quiet, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that. It was nice, but it seemed out of place. If things like that pony could show up so suddenly, then any peace they had could be shattered in an instant. That horse thing had shown up right after the message about the pendants, wearing a pendant. The timing had been uncanny.
Speaking of messages, A-Eleven pulled out her phone to see if any had shown up recently. There was one-it must have arrived sometime during the ordeal with the 'Death' horse. It seemed to be asking for someone to go to a cove? She didn't recognize the 'names'...there must be other 'teams' here somewhere. Well, she thought as she put her phone back on her belt, we are exploring now, so I am sure we will find out eventually. If they lived that long.
A-Eleven came to a stop as she reached the group. She nodded at A-One and A-Two, then turned to see how many more would arrive. She still held some small hope that most of the team would stay together.

[A-Nine entering]
A-Nine strolled along after her other team members, feeling a bit better now. She waved to A-Two who happened to be looking in her direction. "Hi!" She said brightly, waving at the other woman. "Glad you could come."
A-One was standing around waiting beyond A-Two so A-Nine walked over to stand beside him and A-Eleven. "Who else are we waiting for, boss?" She asked. A-Nine craned her head to look back down the path to the beach. "I hope we don't have to wait long. It's boring waiting around for things, y'know? Like the bus or oh, at the supermarket, the lines are the worst and the cashiers are always so grumpy."

As people trickled in, A-One kept track of who was here. They almost certainly wouldn't get all of Alpha; it remained to be seen if any Zetas decided to show up. He wasn't sure what to hope for. Too large a group would make them slower; above thirteen people would be completely unworkable. If only thirteen could survive, they couldn't have more than that.
When a group had assembled uncertainly in the hollow, he took a breath and spoke. "If we're going to move as a group, we should consider ourselves a team. No backstabbing within the group; if one of us is attacked, we'll all need to help defend them. We're more powerful together than we are apart." He looked around the group in front of him. "Sound reasonable?"

A7 was making a beeline for A1, who'd already started gathering a few people. He was currently carrying A10 on one hip, and Z8 on another. What a ladies man.
"Hey you guuuuuuys..guess what I found?"

A group. A group... yes. A group sworn to protect each other against nerds uncool people backstabbing bitches danger. That was something A-Two understood in her core.
"I'm, like, so in." Despite her odd vocabulary choices, her voice was sharp and coldly determined. The tone was still familiar, though... she'd used it before. As a weapon. Laughter had followed it, directed at others. Another weapon.
"I, like... I don't have much. But what I have, I'll, like... I'll use it for the group." Her fists clenched at her side momentarily. She glanced at A-Nine and nodded tentatively at the other girl.
Then new movement caught her eye, and she stared - not that anyone could tell, under the gas mask. Wasn't that the girl who'd died? Been shot? And now... she was back? But she'd seen her die, she'd seen, she'd...
... she wasn't going to think about it. Deep breath. Instead, she gave the others a nod as well, though her hands shook slightly.
((AFK for work <3 brb tomorrow night guys, feel free to hoist Two along if need be XD))

"Sure does, boss." A-Nine responded to A-One's speech. "All that backstabbing and infighting is stressful anyway." She stretched and tried to work some of the kinks out of her neck, wincing at her burns. "And fighting giant death ponies is more than enough."
That settled, A-Nine started happily poking around and watching the newcomers when A-Seven appeared alongside Zeta-Eight and....A-Ten.
A-Nine stared at A-Ten. "I-- is, is she a zombie??" she asked in hushed tones. She huddled slightly closer to A-Two. "Please don't eat my brains." she said to A-Ten.

"Sounds reasonable to me," A-Eleven turned to look at A-One. "Working as a team we have a chance." She was smiling under the mask, happy to not be alone one this island. "Don't worry, I'm ready to fight for the team."
She heard A-Seven before she saw him. When she did turn to look, she didn't believe what she saw. A-Seven, Z-Eight and.... Yep. There was A-Ten. Not looking very dead at all. They had just watched her die, hadn't they?
"How is that possible? Is it really her?"

The hidden arrival of A12, nearly out of breath, would be a surprise for the girl that seemed so .. passive. There was no other way to describe her, other than the fact she usually seemed to be standing somewhere in the sidelines.
Huddled at the base of a tree nearby, voices had carried over in the wind, caused A12 to peek out from her sleeping spot by a tree. Perhaps, an hour's rest .. nothing more. They didn't have the luxury of an eight hour sleep. A soft gasp, although easily passed over due to the conversation in the air, formed from A12's position, peeking out form behind a tree.
A-One spoke.
"If we're going to move as a group, we should consider ourselves a team. No backstabbing within the group; if one of us is attacked, we'll all need to help defend them. We're more powerful together than we are apart."
A .. group? He spoke well .. A12 just had to hope the conviction and meaning behind those words were as sincere as they sounded. One hand cupped her mouth, silencing herself. Was t-that .. really A10? Could it be? A-7 and Z8 was with her. That confirmed it.. Right? Right? Her thoughts mirrored A-Nine's-- Was A10.. a zombie? After all, getting a clean bullet shot would .. that didn't just disappear, did it? Little would A-12 notice the presence of Z-8 near her.
A12 may have been quiet. But she wasn't a fighter and therefore, concealment of her presence like a ninja was impossible.

While Z3 made a point of staying discretely in A7's wake, it most certainly was not slacking.
He was one of the last to show, and as had become usual, remained firmly silent, without any display of pleasant greeting or formality. This meeting or grouping or assembly or whatever it was promised to be very... interesting, for sure.
Hopefully the turnout would be a "positive" one.
... This talk of forging a cohesive unit definitely intrigued him.

[Z4 Entering]
The orange soldier wobbled, still unsure of his footing on the shifty sand and still smoldering about the edges as he suddenly spotted just where Z8 had gone- she had been... apprehended?? Clarity suddenly kicked its way back into his aching brain, gloved hands balling into fists as he stormed after them. Is THAT what had been discussed while he had been.... resting? No, no no no this would not do!
"YOU! Er- Alpha Seven was it? UNHAND HER THIS INSTANT, YOU BRUTE!" Who knew what good it would do- the man was easily twice his size. But- all the same! "I will not have you harm her!" He had grabbed a hold of A7's arm before he even knew what he was doing, tugging as though he had a chance at budging the wall of muscle. "I will not stand for- for-" He blinked, momentarily derailed by the number and somewhat familiar mask of... a ghost... in his other arm. "I..." But... she was moving and... upright and.. there was no blood nor head trauma and... was he still sleeping? How was A10... alive?

A-One paused and stared at A-Seven and the two ladies who accompanied him. Specifically, at A-Ten. He'd watched her die. This was impossible.
Several possible explanations crossed his mind rapidly. A-Ten was a zombie? Not likely; if she was a zombie she'd still have the wounds that had killed her. They were all dead and this was Hell, and thus death had no meaning? Possible, but depressing, and he'd rather not consider it that way. The impossible had happened, and A-Ten had been brought back? They'd already seen impossible things happen here, and the cloaked figure had said something about finding their friends.
He'd take the third option as an explanation, he decided. "Welcome back," he said to A-Ten, and nodded to A-Seven. "Good to see you guys again."

She'd spent the whole trip (if you could call it that) thinking about what A7 and Z8 had said.
Killed? Shot by Z11? And now she was back? How did that make any sense, at all? Usually when you had to come to terms with someone's death, it wasn't your own.
Just.. ughhh. Her head hurt from thinking, and unconsciously she moved a hand up to her chest, as if clutching at an invisible wound. "I don't remember anything," she said weakly to B4... someone she was pretty sure had attacked her before. "I don't even want to think about it now. Even if you guys aren't joking that I died, someone must be, because I would rather have stayed dead than.. come back."
And yet she supposed she was expected to take this as 'another chance at life'. Another chance to... 'make things right'. Or something. Well- if she'd been given another chance, she'd damn well use it, and use it good.
"I don't eat brains," she said, looking straight at A9. "Nor.. am I a zombie. I think. I don't know why I'm here, when I... apparently was supposed to be dead, but y'know what, man, deal with it. You've got one more on your side."
The girl paused, unsure of where this sudden surge of confidence was coming from. Even when she continued, her voice was soft (you might have to strain to hear it), and really.. not too convincing. "It might not have meant anything to be a team, before. I know it didn't mean anything to me- not the way it was done, just us being randomly chucked into groups by.. some higher power. We didn't know each other- but now we do, even if just a little. We've gone through things together. Some of us.. have fought together. For each other. We can do it right this time, guys. Our own team."
She looked at them- all of them, nodding to show her respect to A1 when he welcomed her back.
"So.. what.. do you say?"

A7 was in too good a mood to kill the guy that came barrelling over. He remembered exactly who's side Z4 had been on, and he wasn't about to trust the guy as far as he could throw him (which was pretty far). But he wasn't opposed to letting bygones be bygones, either - if only because A10 was alive, and safe, in his arms. A7 let Z8 down gently, and gave a raucous laugh at the man trying to save her. "Looks like you've got yourself a fan, precious. Don't go making me jealous now." His voice was an infinite sound of teasing and joking, like some bartender who never stopped making the jokes to make the drunks tip better.
He refused to let A10 down, though. When she said her piece, A7 was struck to silence. He was proud of his kitten, and he grinned broadly under the helmet.
"YEAH. What she said. I tell you what. We'll make a pact. Right now. If you can't handle it, ******** off, whatever. But if you can, then stand with us. We're in this together now. Just us. No more fighting between us, but more importantly - an enemy to any one of us is an enemy to all of us."
His stretched himself out to his full, imposing height, and clenched a fist in front of himself. It looked inspiring. "This is our second chance. We're gonna rise up from the ashes of that last defeat and show these mother ******** how we do it. If that's too hot for you, then step aside and let this phoenix burn."
He looked over at A1, and smacked him in the chest with one hand. "Oi. That's got a nice ring to it. Whaddya say, boss?"
