SpaceDadDisapproves Vice Captain

 Shayne yawns, walking into the garden, tail swishing behind him. He frowns, looking around slowly, then wanders over to curl up against a rock, arms behind his head. Red eyes looking around slowly, he sighs, wishing there were something to do.

Nearby, a pale boy is sitting on the grass, propped back on splayed arms as his eyes watch the clouds above. There's a content little smile on his face, and occasionally, he murmurs something under his breath. It's possible that what he's saying is whatever the clouds make him think of. Certainly, the tone of the words sound as dreamy as the look on his face.

Shayne looks around again, his ears picking up the faint sounds of someone mumbling nearby. Spotting the pale, fluffy boy nearby, he tilts his head slightly, observing the other for a moment before standing up and slowly walking over. He coughs slightly to alert the other to his presence, then fidgets from foot to foot. "Ah... hi."

The words catch Anani's attention, and he looks up, pale eyes blinking a few moments before they focus on the other boy. A smile dawns over his lips, and he lifts a grass-stained hand in greeting. "Hi! Are you here to watch the clouds?"

He blinks, then looks up for a moment before giving a slight shake of his head. "No, not really. I was just bored and looking for something to do. Are clouds that interesting?"

Anani's smile warms, and he pats the ground next to him, inviting Shayne to sit down. "They are when you see things in them," he explains, eyes dancing. "And there are all sorts of things to be seen. Why don't you try watching with me?" He moves his hand back, giving the space to Shayne even as his eyes drift back up to the sky. "I like it when it's peaceful like this."

Shayne sits uncertainly, looking up at the sky for a moment. "I don't have much of an imagination, but I suppose I can give this a try. Oh, I'm Shayne, by the way."

"I'm Anani," came the bright reply. "Look at that one. If you tilt your head a bit, it looks like a rabbit, don't you think?" He sketched out the vaguest form of what might be a rabbit... with a good deal of imagination and no little allowance for how it looked more like a cloud than anything else. But Anani didn't seem phased by the vague connections.

He stares at the blob of clouds the other pointed out blinking for a moment before giving a small shrug. "I've... never seen one before. Is it?"

"I think so," Anani said, his voice sounding sure for just a moment before he looked over at Shayne. "What sorts of things do you like to do?" he asked, curious as darker hair fell into his eyes.

He thinks on this for a moment, pursing his lips before answering. "I like playing with hair. Styling it and making it different colors..."

"Really?" Anani asks, one hand creeping up to touch Shayne's straight hair very lightly. "Like your own hair is different colors? It's neat like that," he decided, moving to brush his own messy strands away from his eyes. "I like it."

Shayne holds still as the others hand reaches out to touch his hair. "Hrm? Yeah, like my own hair. I did it to my tail too." He smiles, horse-like tail flicking slightly to land between them. "And thank you. I rather like your hair too."

Anani dropped his hand after only a brief touch, examining Shayne's tail with curious eyes, and for far longer than most might've looked. At length, he looked back up at Shayne and smiled, wrinkling his nose in a slightly impish way. "I like both," he said, his words vague, but very decisive. That said, he dropped back onto his back, cushioned by cloudpuff wings. "What do you do to change your hair like that?"

Shayne thinks for a moment, then grins. "Well, I use a small amount of hair bleach to lighten the tips. If I want a different color completely, I look for something that'll look neat on both the dark part of my hair and the lighter tips."
