My band leaders always use me as an example. I mean always and both of them too.. Like one day the percussion where walking around to other places and a leader yelled out "Drums! Get behinde you drums! I don't let Jamie go sit with the saxaphone!" I don't know why in the world they do this. They know my name pretty darn well. Anyone got some guesses?

I feel your pain! My band director does that to me too! My band tends to talk to much, and he always yells, "I know! I know! You all should be like Katie! Crazy off-band, but focused in-band!" Or he says: "Don't be lazy, stand up and move! In concert band, Katie still has to stand but she doesn't complain!" (I'm a Percussionist) I think he just does it to annoy me though... my band director is hilarious and awesome ^_^ I spend my time after school just hangin' in the band room talkin' to my drumline coach, band director, the co-band director, and my friend (clarinet).
I think they do it do see how we react... he's always talking to the french horns 'cause we have some pretty terrible french horns O_o So while he's helping them, I usually zone out and focus on my music, reviewing the dynamis and sticking (Once again, drumline) and when he says something like that, I just hear my name and pop my head up, having an expression that he calls "A deer in the headlights" 'cause my eyes go wide and bewildered xD

My BD always says that he only (jokingly) picks on the people that he likes and/or that are very good players. Maybe yours are the same?

My orchestra conductor only picks on people that he knows won't get offended. Or he'll pick on the best players and say they are horrible and crazy, but we know he's kidding. So maybe he thinks you're a good sport that plays well. There' no offense in that, it's a compliment in disguise!

I feel your pain. At marching band rehearsals, if there is one name that is said the most, its mine. I've come to accept it though, cause most of the time, its hysterical.
