AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM (THANK YOU HOSTEL FOR THE ARTTTTT~)Name: Kallos Kalamos. Nicknames: Kal, Scribe, Recordkeeper, Secretary, etc. ( He'll respond to just about anything. Probably including 'HomeworkSlave' if you scare him enough.) Gender: Male. Age: Looks between 15-16 years old.
Faction/Race Ghost -- Haunt Object Kallos Haunts and Takes Aspects From: A Calligraphy Pen. (Which happens to be cursed due to a, ah, mishap in his history.) He's very, very tied to his pen, so he is practically the unliving ghost-form of a calligraphy pen.
Personality: xxxxxxxxx-- "Oh look, you've terrified him... Again." -- Kallos is the kind of guy who's probably going to get shoved in lockers or forced into doing another person's homework. He's that quiet guy diligently taking notes in either the back of front of the class, writing down every and anything that could be of importance. (And then some. Seriously, nearly anything spoken in a class lecture gets copied down.) Bullies would be happy to threaten this kid into doing things for them. While he's rather smart, that also means that Kallos can usually figure out if that student walking menacingly in his direction is stronger than him (Which is practically everyone). This usually results in either a) Kallos freaking out and running for his unlife, and usually getting caught anyway (Haha, yeah he's usually too freaked out to remember that's he's a ghost so he could go immaterial if he really needed to), b) getting caught by the person before he can even run and getting told who's homework Kallos is now supposed to be doing (on threat of...well, it's not hard to intimidate Kallos, and trailing off what the punishment would be is usually rather effective, since Kallos probably knows what you can and will do, and it scares him half to death to remember all of the possible things.).
xxxxxxxxx-- "What are you, a walking dictionary?" -- Yes, yes he is. Kallos is literally a walking dictionary. If he's eaten the information (see his natural ability and the note under it), Kallos will be able to recall the information in question, as if from memorized memory. Because of this, he knows a lot of random facts, although a few might be wrong due to malevolent people making him eat an obvious lie, or they've become quite outdated. He'd make a great study-buddy or partner in a class (besides Gym), since he probably would know a few facts about the topic. Well, since he can write both fluently (like...speaking fluently? Whatever.) and quickly, he also is a good person to go to if you missed a day of class and need the information or notes. If you need a scribe for just about anything (be it notes, contracts, judgements, parking tickets, etc), Kallos would be your go-to guy. That is, if you don't scare him away before you get to him.
xxxxxxxxx--"Coward? Well, n-no, I didn't think I was..." -- Kallos isn't really a coward, at least in his head. It might seem like that sometimes, but he does have his reasons and justifications. The biggest being, since he's read, and by extension copied down and eaten, a lot of information about random creatures throughout Halloween. This usually includes what they might do to make someone cooperate with them. And Kallos tends to remember these things most of all. If he knows something about your race, he's probably terrified of you, one way or another. (Yes, that does include the cutesy, sweet little students. He KNOWS that their species actually -insert some terrible torture- to their victims. o A o) If you scare him off, and manage to capture him after he's already become terrified, he's probably going to grovel or try to hide behind his notebook. Perhaps both. Yeah...probably both.
xxxxxxxxx-- "I like being useful. It gives me a purpose." -- Since Kallos' object is a calligraphy pen, and by extension a tool, he has an inner desire to be used, and more specifically to be used properly. (Not like that, you creeps.) He delights in getting a job well done, especially if it's something involving a paper and pen. Getting to be a person's scribe (once he's gotten over how terrifying they are, of course) actually makes him happy. It makes him feel fulfilled, like he's doing his inborn duty. If he's forced into doing something, however, he will probably go back into his terrified mode and not recognize that he probably likes doing whatever job someone is having him do. As such, if someone were to give him a permanent job as a scribe for them, like one of the higher demon students or something (after he'd become less wary of them), he'd actually be rather happy to do the job. After all, it's the thing that gives him the greatest joy in his unlife.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? It wasn't really Kallos' idea to go to the Academy, but his caretaker, an old Warlock, had told him it would be good for him. The Haunt did like the idea of learning though, and the chance at finding a way to possibly reverse the curse on his pen if he ever needed to have it reversed.
He'd actually like to take pretty much every class, but he'll limit himself at first if he has to. (Literature, perhaps Botany, etc) He's not sure what Club he'd join, probably one of the Arts and Crafts clubs, or something. Or he could be the recordkeeper for a club, that could work. Or he could make the flyers for clubs? Secretary, he could be a secretary... Oh well, whatever, he doesn't really know. (He's kind of thinking that he could participate in a cooking club or something. After all, he could function as a living recipe book. (He can cook too, he just doesn't like doing it much since he's always afraid of getting ink inside the food and he wouldn't be eating it anyway.))
Natural Ability: Object Invocation- A haunt's powers are usually tied to their power object in some way.
xxxxxxxxx--Kallos' object is a cursed calligraphy pen. (It was a normal calligraphy pen originally.) As such, if Kallos eats any written on paper or drinks any ink, he can write out of his fingers. The more he writes, though, the drier he becomes, just like a refillable pen. (This is similar to the idea that once your pen runs out, it's useless until you fill it back up. Same concept applies to Kallos, since he's very tied to his object.) And as such, if he uses up all of his ink, he's literally useless and, unlike most ghosts, actually affected by this. (He ends up being tired or eventually passing out. If he wasn't already ghost, he could actually die by running out of ink for too long. If someone gave him some when he's passed out though, he'll come right back around.)
xxxxxxxxxNote: A side effect because of the curse placed on his pen is that whatever Kallos eats, he remembers. As in, it's literally imprinted on his memory. He can't forget it, even if he wanted too (although he's managed to find a loophole in the fact that he can have multiple entries under the same topic. This is discussed more further down this section). (He can remember this information at will, and it's all catagorized similar to a dictionary/filing cabnet, with the name and then the information by it.) As such, most malicous members of the school could shove a piece of paper with a lie written on it down his throat, and it'd be stuck in the back of his head until he or someone else writes a new 'entry' and replaces, of sorts, the former information. (He'd know it was wrong, but if someone made him eat something that said, "Carrots are purple" and then someone asked him what color carrots were, he's look very dismayed and say, "Purple." And then probably be like, "Please write down the correct information so I can fix this entry." with a very upset face.) And he usually can't correct it all by his himself, since when he goes to write the correct information in, he nearly always automatically writes down the incorrect entry. So, he's stuck with the wrong entry until someone else, usually one of his minipets, fixes it for him or gives him another entry. (This explains why his main minipets (I still need to do a section for them ^^;; ) are generally creatures that can write and fix the entries.) When he recieves another entry under the same topic/concept/etc, he keeps both in his head. For example, if he had a recipe for "Fried Chicken" in his head, and then someone gave him a new recipe to make "Fried Chicken", it wouldn't replace the previous information, but would simply be put in the same 'description slot' of sorts. (Unless he tried extremely hard to replace the first recipe with the second. In that case, the first recipe might be replaced. Usually he can only replace information when he's "fixing" the information, not adding to it.) Once he has more than one entry for a topic, he can toggle between the answers he has to say to certain questions, and can choose which entry to respond with.
FEAR: Pen and Paper: Kallos writes in the air, and words form out of the FEAR-incribed ink. (Usually these words are something about how the creature will act (aka if he writes things about attacks, it will porbably attack, if he writes words about defending, it will probably defend, and if the words are neutral, the creatures picks.) These words then spin and merge together into a makeshift skeleton-like shape of some kind of dangerous creature. (Kallos's words usually like to turn into dinosaurs, ever since he found out about them.) Once the words have meshed enough, the creature can attack for Kallos. Unfortunately, as it is made out of only ink, the creature can usually only land one blow, although the blow is stronger than Kallos could have managed himself, and then it usually breaks apart on the spot. It could also be used defensively to take an attack for Kallos, instead of attacking.
As a second year, Kallos will be able to form a outer-skin layer of something similar to paper-mache on top of the ink skeleton. This will give the creature a better structure, and it will be able to hit (or be hit) more than one time before breaking apart.
As a third year, Kallos will be able to form the ink skeleton, paper-mache skin, and then write more words into the air, which will wrap around the paper-mache like binding chains. By doing this, it makes it so that the creature can attack or be attacked three times before it breaks apart. (The binding words on the outside are like wrapping a bandage around a wound so it will have a harder time spilling out. Thus, the 'paper-mache' has something to hold it together for one more hit.) There's perhaps a slight chance of the fear and ink reacting strangely inside the bound-up dinosaur, resulting in the creature spewing out ink (that tends to form into many different shapes, usually words, letters, or on the rare occation, randomly looking like fire)that could get in people's eyes. (Kallos has yet to see this happen, and doesn't think it actually will, mind you.)
Downsides of this FEAR is that it requires a lot of ink from Kallos, although FEAR manages to stretch out the available ink for all it's worth. Since Kallos' ink is directly tied to his strength, he'll be rather tired after writing out the skeleton, and thus an easier opponent to beat. Another downside is that the skeleton is just made of ink. Even if it's attacking, it could miss and easily be swatted apart, leaving Kallos weakened and vulnerable. (Even once the skeleton has been covered in 'paper-mache', it could still have a hole punched through it rather easily if it misses it's attack. He hopes it'll get stronger as he learns more at the school.)
Physical Description: Eye Colour: A deep, dark blue-grey. (Note: His eyes are dark due to his ink level being full, similar to his hair. The less ink he has in his ectoplasmic system, the lighter his eyes get, until they're nearly ghost-light blue-grey.) Hair Colour/Style: Black, and a tad spikey. (Note: It's black due to his ink level being full. Thus, if he uses up all his ink, it drains to watery-grey/watery-black and then slowly turns white.) Skin Colour: White, similar to the color of clean paper. Clothing Style/Colours: White long-sleeve shirt, probably with ink splatters on it. A black pinstriped vest over that. Long black pants and black dress shoes. (The thinking here is that maybe if he looks classy, people won't attempt to bully him. :'D;;; And his guardian told him he had to wear it. (Kallos also thinks it kind of makes him look like a waiter, but whatever.)) Artists can make alterations, make it more Halloween-y, whatever. (It should probably just stay monotone to match his dark-light look, though, right?) Extra: Inky freckles would be fantastic~ He generally has a big notepad that he carries with him, or just assorted papers. His fingertips can be slightly more pointy than a normal person's, since he writes out of them. Maybe a belt with little bottles of ink on it? (Think utility belt only with ink bottles? Or just not. It's up to the artist. XD; ) And of course the ghostly wisps and such. o u o References: -Art by Hostel <3 - Headshot by Drifter Jet Enduro <3 - Crack art of Riley & Kallos (also by Jet) XD - Headshot by Kuro-Mizuki <3 - Shun forcing Kallos to eat some paper (Also by Jet) XD - Inky Halfbody by Kuro-Mizuki <333 - From-Knee-Up of Older!Kallos by Kuro-Mizuki <33333 (Admit it people, Kallos looks good in a suit.) - Head-shot by Dragain~ - Group picture bought by Seph (I can't remember who the artist from DA is...orz;;; ), including Cat, Aksaja, Seph's quest Than, and my quest Kallos ~~~~ <33333333
--Random Facts and Quirks: xxxxxxxxx- Kallos can't swim. AT. ALL. No, seriously, dumping him in a lake would be the fastest way to incapacitate this Haunt. This is because his strength is tied into how much ink he has in his ectoplasmic ghosty form. As such, the type of ink his ectoplasm uses/processes tends to be rather soluble when in it's liquid form (such as ink in a pen before it's exposed to air) and washes away very quickly in fast currents. Thus, being soaked in water makes Kallos' inky-ectoplasm lose it's ink and causes him to pass out or get very tired. (As such, creatures that usually live in water make him think, "How can they handle such exposure to water?" and generally confuse/terrify him a bit more than normally.) However, it does take a lot of water to do that to him, so if you just pour a bucket of water on him, he's going to drip down inky water for a bit, but not drain too much.
xxxxxxxxx- Kallos really doesn't like fire. No seriously, he doesn't. It burns things like books, destroying that knowledge and making it unacessable to others. Since paper is kind of like the companion to a pen, Kallos feels very uneasy around people that have fire abilities, his mind always flashing back to how easily paper can burn up. Oddly enough though, he's usually better with fire people than water people, the reason being: Fire might be able to burn up a piece of paper, but water is what washes away ink and renders him useless. (He's worse with both water and fire people than normal people. XD; )
xxxxxxxxx- Kallos keeps bottles of ink on a belt he wears (like a utility belt, only with ink bottles on it). Those are for when he's had a particularly long lecture or written a lot and is running out of ink. He then would drink them like a energy drink. He occationally forgets or can't refill them. Also, since this belt is one of this unlife-lines, stealing this belt from him would seriously freak him out.
xxxxxxxxx- Kallos' pen, his Haunt Object, is not visible but is usually on his person at all times. Stealing his pen would be the most effective way of all to get the terrified Haunt to do domething for you. (He also can't go very far from it when it's in their dimension, thus if you steal it, he'll tag along behind you against his will.)
xxxxxxxxx- Kallos is ambidexterous. What that means for the Haunt is that he can literally write ouf of both hands, and it'll still look flowy and pretty.
xxxxxxxxx- Due to the connection between ink and Kallos' ectoplasm condition, when he 'blushes' instead of his face turning pink, it turns grey. (Since ink is the equivalent of blood in his ectoplasm.)
xxxxxxxxx- Kallos' isn't quite sure if this actually happens, and he doesn't really want to find out, but a rumor is that if you get him to drink colored ink (ie, blue, pink, whatever) his hair/eyes/blush-color will correspond with the color. Kallos hasn't actually tried, and he really doesn't want to find out, so force colored ink down his throat at your own expense. (Although this would be a funny to RP since he'd freak out. o u o; And as his creator, I'm voting that it does change his colors. :'D )
xxxxxxxxx- Another random thing about his hair is that it smells like freshly printed books. Like, that beautiful smell when you walk into a bookstore? His hair smells like that. He doesn't really think it's that special, but some others might.
xxxxxxxxx- On the potential topic of friends, Kallos isn't exactly sure what he'd do. He probably would have a system of placing people, from "OHGOSHRUNRUNRUNRUN" to "Uhhh, okay, I'm okay, they're not too scary" and who he would probably think of as friends would be "Well...I suppose I don't need to fear you... Can I help you somehow?" He'd place people somewhere along that line in his mind, most people almost always starting out at the frightening end. Over time people might be able to make it into what he'd consider his friends.

History:
Once upon a time in a faraway land in the human world, there was a school for teaching scribes. In one of the older classes, there was a shy, slight boy who had the highest skill level out of all of those around him. He was often used as an example of what the other, more careless students should be like. Those students that didn't try were often the ones to pick on the shy, hard working young scribe. It was not unusual to see him being bullied by anyone bigger or tougher than him, and it was just as common that the bullies would leave just before an instructor or guardian appeared.
One day though, they were caught by the Headmaster of the school, who had been on his way down to their class to meet the shy boy (his teachers had spoken to the headmaster that this boy was their best student and that he was probably ready to be given a job. Conveniently, a powerful member of society had requested to be sent one of their best scribes, and if they liked the scribe's work, they would become a patron of the school.) that he'd heard so much about. Outraged as he figured out who the victim was, the Headmaster immediately expelled the bullies and had them kicked out of the school. He couldn't have such a thing happen to their best student, not when the school was so close to securing another patron. (It's still a mystery if the Headmaster actually cared about the boy's safety or not.)
The ex-students, having now lost their chance at a good job in society, felt bitter and angry. They didn't blame the Headmaster though. They blamed that shy student who just had to be so much better than them. It was his fault they'd beat him up, the boys thought. After all, if he'd been a slacker like them, they wouldn't have needed to bully him. They decided they'd lived in the slight boy's shadow for too long, and if they weren't going to get a place in society, neither was he.
Late at night, using all the secret passages and places they'd discovered from their many years at the School, the bullies crept back inside the place they'd lived for so long. They made their way back to where they knew their target would be at this time of night; the library, transcribing notes late into the night with his trusty pen.
The night was dark. The instructors who were in charge of the library had fallen asleep at their posts. It was the best setting the bullies could have hoped for.
It was at that time that the School lost one more student.
Out of symbolic spite, the ringleader of the group jammed the calligraphy pen that their target had been using into the corpse's heart. The body was then quickly tossed into the river.
In the morning, the teachers realized that none of them had seen their soon-to-be-patron's test-scribe. They informed the Headmaster, and the School was searched from one end to the other, but the boy was gone. Some suspected that the pressure of working for the possible patron was too much for the boy and that he had run away. No evidence was ever found to prove anything different. The School lost the potential patron, and it seemed everything went back to the way it had been before only with a few less students. The boy was soon forgotten by the world.
Unfortunately for the poor spirit of the boy, he could not pass on. Due to the fact that the pen had been stabbed into him when he was still freshly dead and then the body being thrown in the river, the pen had absorbed some of his leaving life-blood and essense. As such, it was now irrivocably tied to the boy. Because they were now connected, the boy's ghost was effected by the river in the same manner that the pen was. The river's water quickly washed away all of the ink in the pen, resulting in the ghost quickly losing it's strength and being reduced to a shell of even it's ghostly form.
The local reaper eventually found the unconcious ghost at the bottom of the river, along with the pen. He transported both to Halloween, finding that the spirit couldn't come without the pen. What baffled the reaper though, was that the ghost was still powerless, practically in a coma. The reaper eventually figured out that the empty pen was probably tied to the ghost's unlife force. Unfortunately for the ghost, the reaper had been needing to bribe one of his associates, a powerful Warlock. What better thing to give than an incapacitated Haunt's (The reaper had finally decided that's what the boy was) object?
Taking the pen to the Warlock, the Reaper said that it was a powerful artifact from the Human World, etc, etc and generally smooshed the elderly spellcaster. The Warlock took the pen and looked it over, feeling a form of energy coursing through it. And with that, the Warlock knew that it was no ordinary pen. The Reaper was back in the Warlock's good graces, and the Warlock had himself a fancy new pen. The only problem, for the knocked-out Haunt at least, was that the Warlock had long given up his abilties as a reaper for the benefits of having spells and curses and as such could not identify the force of the pen as the unlife-force of the ghost. It didn't help that the old man's eyesight was growing horrible, and he couldn't tell that there was a near invisible ghost trailing from the pen.
Not having any use for the pen really, besides it's value as a collectible, the Warlock put the pen in a graceful container and back into a storage area. The Haunt ended up being tugged along and closed into the storage room. Even though he was reunited with the pen, the Haunt was still powerless and in a coma state, due to the pen being completely empty of ink.
Years passed, and the pen was forgotten by the Warlock. Time passed, and finally the spellcaster came in one day and saw it back on a shelf when he'd been searching for a replacement pen, as the one he'd been using to write with had finally broken. Grinning at his luck, the Warlock took the pen back to his workstation, trying to remember a curse he'd put on his last pen. The curse had been quite useful last time he'd casted it on the now-broken pen, as it was a spell to make it so that a pen could write anything that it had written before. Very useful when you were as slow/secluded as the Warlock and needing to get something copied down a few times.
As such, he placed the curse on the pen although it reacted in a slightly odd manner at which the Warlock couldn't understand, not realizing the effect it was having on the connected Haunt, who was still in practically a coma back in the storeroom. Due to their shared nature, the ghost was also effected by the curse, making it so that anything he consumed to fill himself with ink and paper would be inscribed on his memory.
Thinking that the weird reaction form the pen was just a minor mistake in the curse, he was rather old after all, the Warlock proceeded to dip the now-cursed pen in ink, allowing it to fill.
In the storeroom, the Haunt woke for the first time in many years. And he was absolutely terrified. After all, he remembered nothing of his death, or who he was, but he had this deep panic that something he needed, absolutely had to have, was not with him.
Hair and eyes back to their dark color, the ghost became easily visable, and quickly rushed from the room in a panic, following the connection between himself and his pen.
Bursting through the threshold of the study the Warlock was in, the Haunt practically gave himself and the old man heart attacks. The Warlock stared at him wide-eyed, while the Haunt stared between the Warlock and the pen with a look of terror and panic on his face. After a moment, the old man finally realized why the pen seemed to be pulsating with such an irratic force. Looking slightly guilty, he held out the pen and said, "Uhm, so...I'll assume this is yours?"
Quickly reclaiming the pen, the Haunt held it to his chest, looking about in a slightly panic. At least he had his pen back. That calmed him considerably, but he wasn't really sure what to do now. Where was he, who was he, and why had an old man been holding his pen?
"Oh, he would..." The Warlock grumbled, thinking about the Reaper who'd given him the pen all that time ago. He looked at the flustered ghost, supposing he had to take care of he boy now. He made a few calming motions at the Haunt, speaking softly, "It's okay, we've just had a bit of a misunderstanding...you're a...Haunt, right? That's your object? The pen?"
The ghost gave a little nod, still freaked out. He managed to speak for the first time, "What's a Haunt...?" It had something to do with his pen, and that was what the ghost cared most about in his unlife. But...he didn't know how or why but the pen felt slightly different, somehow..."What did you do to my pen?" He said, alarm in his eyes as he looked at the old man.
The Warlock gave out a bit of a sigh, trying to think of how to explain that he'd just cursed the poor Haunt's pen. He started with what a Haunt was. "You're a ghost who's connected to an object or place. More specifically that pen." He scratched the back of his head and said, "I, uhm, kind of put a slight curse on the pen. Nothing serious but...it might have some kind of effect on you. I didn't realize the force in the pen was a ghost's unlife force. I'd like to apologize for that, since I've never needed to reverse that particular curse, and I don't actually know how to do so."
Fortunately for the confused and terrifed Haunt, the Warlock was a rather kind soul. The Warlock took the ghost under his wing and began to teach him how to live (of sorts) in Halloween. The first thing he had to do though, was give the young Haunt a name.
"Kallos..?" He said to the ghost after the panicking had finally settled down. The ghost had looked up, confusion on his face. The Warlock gave a nod. "What do you think of the name Kallos? You need a name. I can't just keep calling you 'Haunt'. How about Kallos...? Kallos Kalamos? It has a nice sound to it."
"I-I suppose that it's acceptable." The newly-named Kallos said.
The Warlock found that the ghost was actually quite a good assistant. He was surprised when the Haunt began copying down books for him, but was more surprised by the fact that he wrote out of his fingers. Almost just as surprising was that the ghost's handwriting was rather beautiful, as if he'd been trained to do that kind of work. (Not that anyone would know, the Haunt actually had been.) Together they searched through the Warlock's books, looking for a solution to the curse on the pen. It was a very old and obscure curse though, and they found nearly nothing. What they did discover though was what the curse had done to Kallos.
As Kallos would write, the Warlock noticed that his hair and eyes drained of their color slowly, eventually resulting in a rather tired Haunt. On experiment, the Warlock gave him a piece of paper with a recipe on it to eat, wondering if that would make the ghost's ink level go up. It did, but the surprising thing was when Kallos picked up a piece of paper and wrote out the entire recipe perfectly, and only used a bit of his ink to do so. "So that's what the curse did to you...Well, it could be worse?" The Warlock said after the experiment. Kallos gave a shrug, not really sure what to think about it. The recipe was stuck in his head, and he couldn't get rid of it.
After a few weeks of working with the timid ghost, the Warlock had taken a sort of fatherly role in Kallos' unlife. The boy was a good help around the studies, and the Warlock often fed him books to transcribe. It was a win-win situation of sorts, the Haunt getting his strength back, and the Warlock getting his notes and books all re-written in a very calligraphic and beautiful fashion. But the Warlock knew he couldn't just keep Kallos at his study forever.
One day, he waved over Kallos, who'd been in the middle of re-writing a catalogy of notes on monsters, and told the ghost that he had something important to say. The ghost came over and sat, waiting. "Kallos...I think it's time for you to see more of the world. I think you should go to a very nice Academy near here. I have some connections, so I could probably get you in."
Kallos' eyes widened in alarm as he heard the proposal. But if the Warlock really wanted him to go, the Haunt would go. After all, the Warlock was the only person he'd ever trusted, or met really. "If you want me to, I suppose I'll go. Perhaps I'll find the reverse of the curse there?"
Soon after, the Warlock took the Haunt out to town, getting him some new ghost clothes, since up to that point Kallos had just been wearing since he'd died. The Warlock had him given him some rather classy clothes, which he would wear to the Academy if he got in.
They sent in the papers. Now all they had to do was wait and see if Kallos would get in.

Crits and Questions Go Here~ (Along with anything else...?) Question/Crit:: I read all of this, and...well...I couldn't find anything obviously wrong haha. This concept completely blows my mind, and I kind of want to draw him P:
The only thing I really noted is that he comes across very VERY easy to incapacitate, and even easier to beat in a fight. I like that he's a much weaker character (not enough of those, anywhere) and that it ties in with how emotionally weak and easy to 'drain' he is...but I feel like he should have some sort of back up? Even if it was something small in future stages, just something to ensure he isn't always going to be the punching bag in every single fight? His Fear sounds awesome, but maybe for the very final form add something new that he might be able to do with it, even if it's only rarely? Even just throwing ink in someone's eyes XD something to ensure he won't just get his Fear trampled and his butt kicked. A:: I've realized that too. And then I remembered, "Ohwait, he's a ghost, he can go intangible when he needs to. XD; " So I might have to incorperate that in somehow. I'll be thinking on how to get him some sort of ace card back-up. Ink in the eyes could be effective. XD I've also remembered that calligraphy pens actually can be kind of painful to get poked with, so I might have something along the lines of that come into play.
His FEAR was one of my favorite things to come up with. The third form does need some work though, it's true. (I personally think it'd be hilarious if it blew ink flames, now that I'm thinking about it. XDDD "The rare off chance that the Fear and Ink doesn't mix inside of it, resulting in the creature spewing forth a giant mess of ink in the shape of flames." ) Hahhaaa, yeahhh, he was made as a character who could get easily beaten to a pulp. XD;; Question/Crit:: So Kallos is a poor, bookish bully-target. And he likes to read to (literally?) soak up information and such. Does he have any other likes and dislikes beyond those that are associated with his haunting? For instance, you mentioned water being one of his natural fears. I might have derped and not seen it, but what about his reaction to those who can conjure fire (seeing as pen has water, but paper also has fire to fear)? This especially for his FEAR. I've been thinking about the possibilities of his dislikes and likes, but I never thought of fire, for some odd reason. That's such a good suggestion, thank youuu. :'D Since I think he would be terrified of fire too, poor dear. XD
For people who could conjure fire, he'd probably try to avoid/run away from them even more than he usually would. If he was confronted by one, especially one looking angry, he'd probably look a little something like this --> O A O. If they were kind and didn't try to force him to do anything, he'd probably try sounding as polite as possible and then, after they left, try not to act as if he'd just had a near-death experience. If they were more menacing, more like the usual bully-type, he'd probably try to blend into his surroundings and if that didn't work, grovel or try to appease them somehow. (This is similar to how he'd work with a water person. He'd probably be a bit more terrified of water though, since that works even better against him than fire does.)Question/Crit:: Though meek, does Kallos have a point where he would try to stand up for himself or his friends? Or would he chicken out and let someone overpower him/them in lieu of being hurt? Ahh, standing up for himself. I was half-wondering if this question would come up. XD; It would depend on the situation. If it was just people pushing him around, you know, usual stuff, no real harm done, he probably wouldn't want to cause the confrontation and just take it. (Logic being, no one is really getting hurt, he doesn't want to make them angry, and it could be worse, he's used to it and can shrug it off, etc. ) If it was say, something like another person who had actually worked their way into him friend-catagory could get physically or mentally really hurt from the bullying, he'd step in somehow. He has yet to realize that those fingertips of his actually could do a bit of damage if they needed to. XD; Oh, and he'd probably fail at standing up for himself and probably make the situation worse for himself, but if it got his friends out of trouble, he'd probably still do it. (After all, logic says that the bully isn't going to really do too much to him, since he does have his uses as a homework-do'er, file cabinet, etc. If he got seriously hurt, he probably wouldn't be able to fulfill his uses as much, and thus the bully would have to go find another homework-finisher, etc. Plus, he's a ghost. Unless they're a reaper, it's not like they can do really horrible damage to him.)

I read all of this, and...well...I couldn't find anything obviously wrong haha. This concept completely blows my mind, and I kind of want to draw him P: The only thing I really noted is that he comes across very VERY easy to incapacitate, and even easier to beat in a fight.
As a side note, I know very little about this shop. So my opinion might be retarded. P: <3
Crit back~?

OOH if you want to draw him, please please please feel free to. :'D (This was actually his third concept, and I decided I'd roll with this one for him. XD;; They were all centered around him being like a living pen. This one just fit the...best. Yeah, that. XD; )
I've realized that too.
His FEAR was one of my favorite things to come up with. The third form does need some work though, it's true. (I personally think it'd be hilarious if it blew ink flames, now that I'm thinking about it. XDDD "The rare off chance that the Fear and Ink doesn't mix inside of it, resulting in the creature spewing forth a giant mess of ink in the shape of flames." ) Hahhaaa, yeahhh, he was made as a character who could get easily beaten to a pulp. XD;;
No no, your crit was great! Thank you so much! And thank you so much for reading that giant block of text. :'D;;;;;
I'll be sure to crit back, probably tomorrow, but it might be later like Monday, since I'm going out of town until Sunday, leaving Thursday night or so.
Also, if you want to draw him, I would highly encourage you. :'D And I would squeal with joy of if you did. ^^;

OHMYGOODNESS, I LOVE IT. THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHHH~~~ O U O (Haha, yeah I really don't have a specific look for him besides what's up there, so people can draw him however they want.)
YOU ARE OFFICIALLY FABULOUS.
And his belt would probably get stolen a lot, so it's cool. XD

D'awwnesssssss. Like I said, he and Whinn should study-buddy sometime. <3 THEY CAN BE MEAK MINDS TOGETHAR. Well, assuming her familiar doesn't ruffle up their books for lulz.
He seems pretty sound thus far, so I only have other prompt questions to add onto the fleshing of his character really:
So Kallos is a poor, bookish bully-target. And he likes to read to (literally?) soak up information and such. Does he have any other likes and dislikes beyond those that are associated with his haunting? For instance, you mentioned water being one of his natural fears. Some other good things to add might be clubs he's interested in. 83

YAY, MEEK MINDS TOGETHAR. :'D (Haha, just more terror for Kallos if her familiar acts up. XD)
Alrighty, fleshing out time. :'3

I wasn't sure which ones he's be in, but I thought I mentioned some options next to the classes he'd like taking? XD;

Wow<3 This is great! I really love him and how much you've developed him! I could hardly come up with a question before it was answered for me in your explanations/background story!
But! There is one thing that occurred to me. I know it was asked if he would stand up for someone else if things got bad, and you did say his dislikes and likes, but what about something he considers unforgivable? Is there anything so heinous to him that he would forget about his fear and do something devious to get vengeance? (of course I don't expect him to barge in barehanded, balls to the wall style.) But he's a smart kid. I'm sure he could think of SOMETHING.

So, this isn't really a crit as much as it's an assessment - I just read this entire thing. And I haven't seen a quest this detailed in a long time. It fits in so beautifully with the setting, you obviously read a lot of the detail that goes into this shop, and I just really hope you get him soon because he seems like he would be an AMAZING addition to the roster.
... also Riley adores him. Completely. Just wanted you to know that. Walking dictionary? Meet walking dictionary. <3

Ice Queen~ I've been thinking about this~ Hmm, I'm not sure. XD I'll have to think about that, and then figure out what he'd do. What I can tell you is that after he'd done it he'd be like, "WHAT HAVE I DONE?! Q A Q;;;;; " And be even more freaked out then when he left for his revenge. XDD;
Nio~ This comment made my day, just so you know. ; w ; Thank you so muchhh~ (The reason I know so much is since I've lurked since before the Battle of the Bands. XD; I just didn't come out. (That and I try to participate in as many events as I can. ^^)) And yessss~ We will have so much Kallos and Riley RP. So much terror, I love it. :'D
Bili~ I know, right?! :'D Thanks for your comment. ^^
