Birds chirped their songs of spring about her as she walked. It was a good indicator to her that the coast was clear, there wasn't a predator lurking to make a meal of the white mare. Still, her ears swiveled about on top of her head as she took light steps towards the open common area. She was looking for something to subside the aching pit of hunger within her stomach. Looking about, she searched the sky before walking out to the middle of the meadow. The grass smelt so earthy today, lush like spring grass on a nice day. Lowering her head, she nibbled at a few blades, all the while keeping an ear out just on the off chance that her meal would be interrupted by any unwelcome visitors..

Calixte was relaxing in the grass on the threshold between a forest and a meadow, sighing contentedly as she basked in the sun, letting the warmth of it roll over her in waves. Though she usually only cared for the shade, today the warmth was welcome. She was alone, and knew the risk of becoming dehydrated without having Kenton around to keep her safe, but she was willing to take the risk today. The sky above was blue and nearly cloudless, and the soft grass she had laid down daintily on was a healthy, soft green.
When she heard hoofsteps approaching, she put her ear to the ground. Her butterflies were somewhere nearby, frolicking in the beams the sun cast down on the earth. Silently calling them to her, she sat up so that she might look on the intruder. Much to her surprise, a beautiful young Cerynei mare stood before her, roses in her hair, and bending down to graze. Calixte could tell by the mare's ears that she was not full-blooded, but that was of little importance. Curious about her, she looked on in silence as the mare ate.

Her ears gave a flick as she took a step, moving a little bit as she gathered a mouthful before lifting her head to take a look around, her tail giving a slight twitch of a flick. She'd sworn she'd heard something move about some in the distance.. had she just been hearing the rustling and scurrying of a smaller animal? Chewing slowly, she continued to watch the treeline for a moment. Noting, at least nothing that gave any alarm. Lowering her head once more, she went back to grazing. Her mind was at ease for the moment, at least her meal wasn't being disrupted by something trying to drag her off.
Her meal hadn't lasted long however. Lifting her head, she shook out her mane some to before moving to an area that would be a softer before quietly laying down and watching the sky. She missed this. Missed having nothing to worry about and just laying in the open to watch the birds in the sky as they passed.

Calixte pondered for a moment what to do about or what to say to this mare - she looked so young and sweet. Calixte didn't want to startle her, but as she laid down somewhere nearby, Calixte lost sight of her. Looking perplexedly at her butterflies, which fluttered around her like always, she sent a message to them - it was silent, just a twitch of her head and ears. The butterflies, excited to perhaps meet someone new, went over to fly around this new white mare, and to explore the roses in her hair.
Calixte waited for her to perhaps move, or make a sound - then she would call out a greeting.

The butterflies that had come now to investigate her only seemed to sickle as they played in her roses and around her. She'd given a slight twitch before finally breaking way to some giggles. She'd been thinking about her meeting with a rather nice stallion up till the butterflies had started their investigations but that was fine the loss of her train of thought wasn't too sorely missed as she knew some how she'd see the stallion again some day. He'd been rather nice and had given her a bit of courage some how... well.. he and the fact that her sister had returned home. Still now she giggled and tussled a bit in the grass. "Friendly little fellows aren't you?" She chimed as she giggled with a voice that matched her exterior, sweet, soft and dainty.

The butterflies had their fun with the roses in her hair, flitting around the mare's head. When she at last said something, Calixte got slowly to her feet, hoping not to scare her. She wouldn't want to frighten her away - she'd been surrounded by stallions as of late, and was bored with them. A good talk with another girl, or just idle conversation, would be much more welcome than a meeting with yet another of the stallions out there. "Hello?" Calixte called softly, following the butterflies toward the mare timidly. She didn't know what kind of threat this mare could create, if she had a threat at all, but she didn't want to provoke her if she was other than what her sweet exterior depicted.

She looked up as she heard the voice. Slowly she stood up and offered a small smile. She was a small mare. small for even a cerynei who were known to be slender of frame. "Hello... Are these little fellows yours??" she meant of course the butterflies. "They seem to like my roses..."

Calixte looked down at the petite mare before her. She was a dainty creature. Smiling back, Calixte said, "Well, they are not exactly mine... They do like to hang about where the can find flowers, though. I hope I have not interrupted something...?" Looking down at the mare, she could think of a million things she might have been doing - sleeping, eating, thinking, watching the clouds... Cali hoped she hadn't infringed on anything important.

"Well they're welcome to investigate them all they like.." She smiled and watched the butterflies some more before speaking once more. "Oh not at all. I was just passing the day idly by and enjoying the spring. And any thoughts I had passing by my mind.. Well, lets just say it wasn't anything to be too trouble over." She smiled brightly at the larger mare.

Cali returned the little white mare's smile. "I'm Calixte," she said, introducing herself. She tilted her head a little, laying down in the grass to get comfortable. "What were you thinking about?" she asked. "Here, sit beside me, if you like." A little curious about this mare with roses and her mane and a blush on her cheeks, Cali wondered if she might make a new friend today.

"Nothing much really.. just .. things." She flushed slightly. "I often take time to think when I'm alone.. nothing wrong with it." She smiled. "I'm Briallan but you may call me Bri."
