LIGHTHOUSE AREA: IN HIDING
- If you are posting in this thread you are now IN HIDING. The strange clumps of fog make you really easy to 'disappear', but also makes you vulnerable to strange creatures lurking in the fog... - It is impossible to avoid the fog - IF YOU ARE BEING ATTACKED BY A GM NPC, simply quote their most recent post and use your weapon/melee attack/ regular battle rules to commence attacking. You are considered successful if you defeat the creature. You cannot run away/LEAVE in mid-combat. Battles commence in a turn based way the same as always (ie: you cannot attack twice in one turn). - If you die, please move to the death subforum. - The longer and more you 'hide', the greater the chances of meaner and tougher things coming out to get you.... - To LEAVE the hiding thread simply post in your post exit hiding thread, but you must immediately relocate yourself to a non-hiding thread or you will still be considered 'in hiding'.

[[ Delta Nine entering thread ]]
It was almost as if the fog was alive, that's how easily it swallowed her up. Delta Nine didn't walk very far, just far enough that she could still faintly hear the sounds of warfare taking place between the people that were fighting for the pendant. Maybe she should've stayed, but man... what if she'd died right there? She wouldn't really have even had a snowballs chance in hell of surviving if she'd gotten too badly hurt.
Besides, she needed a minute to rest.
Delta Nine couldn't remember if she'd ever seen a fight before. A real no-holds-barred, murder in your eyes kind of fight. Delta Nine couldn't scratch the image from her mind, the sight of the Deltas and Thetas fighting between themselves over the necklace. Delta Nine was certain she'd never been that ballsy or determined to get something in her life.
Delta Nine was starting to feel like a damned chicken.
Maybe she wasn't the only one who was terrified of the others. Maybe if she sat here for a while someone else would happen along that was just as afraid and uncertain as she was.
Then again, maybe not.
Delta Nine dropped to a crouch, hugging her knees to her chest. She wrapped her arms around her shins and hid her face against her knees. For once, Delta Nine was glad she had this damned gas mask on. Nobody could see her cry like a little baby.

[Theta Seven entering thread]
He'd made the decision to wander off and it was kind of hard to figure out just where he was trying to get to but soon he was probably going to figure it out. Theta Seven was starting to wish he'd been the one that grabbed the pendant (and ran) and also grabbed the map (and ran) not that he'd be able to figure out much with all this damned fog flying around. It had a way of disorienting him and he was pretty sure he'd end up tossing the map out of frustration anyways.
Seriously. Who filled a place full of fog anyways? Lunatics. That's who.
Not that he was certain that a certain entity was responsible.
Theta Seven was so wrapped up in his thoughts as he walked that he didn't notice a Delta crouched amongst the fog and thus he almost tripped over her but instead he lightly bumped her and then stopped. Theta Seven blinked and stared down at the person and held up his mace warningly. After that display a while back he trusted no one.
"...I..I know how to somewhat use this," he warned just in case the other person got a funny idea in their head. As of yet he didn't catch on that the poor Delta had been crying.

Delta Nine screeched when she felt something bump up against her. The next few moments were filled with action, and honestly Delta Nine never would've thought she could move that fast. She rose to her feet, fumbled around with her bag and drew the gun out. Of course, she was holding the gun by the barrel and rose it menacingly over her head, but hey, she was scared shitless, okay? It didn't even cross her mind to hold the gun in a more effective manner. She would brain the crap out of him if he came at her.
Breathing erratically, she eyed the intruder. A Theta. Well, great, that was great. Out of the frying pan and straight into the fire, just her luck. Delta Nine fought the urge to slap the heel of her palm into her forehead. It was hard to fight that urge. Really hard.
"If you take a step closer," she whined, shaking the gun in her fist, "...well, just don't. Please, I really don't want to have to hurt you." Or herself, honestly. She really didn't want to hurt herself.
"Do you have the pendant?" If he did, it meant the others were coming after him. No-freakin'-thanks.

He maintained his stance stubbornly as he stared at her reaction and really didn't fault her for it. Not that he could fault anyone for anything at the moment. It was hard to be judgmental when you don't even know yourself that well. Theta Seven stared at her and then quietly lowered the mace and seemed to relax. She didn't seem so gung-ho about attacking him like those others were so perhaps there was a chance that something could be formed out of this entire mess.
Not that he was going to be surprised if she would ever turn on him.
Theta Seven shook his head, "Naw. I figured screw it. There is bound to be other ones running around somewhere in a space of ...a few other days." He admitted quietly as he watched her curiously. "I am not going to attack you, promise."
It was a sincere promise, at least.

Delta Nine's anxiety levels dropped a little when he lowered the mace. She figured it would be wise of her to show a little bit of trust and she lowered her gun as well. Delta Nine still wasn't clear on what had happened back there. Sure, she wanted to survive like everyone else did, but she really didn't think she had it in her to kill someone over a necklace even if doing so meant that she was safe from death.
"I won't attack you either," she mumbled, bending down to pick up the knapsack she'd retrieved the gun from. Tucking the weapon back into the bag, Delta Nine stared at him for a long time before speaking.
"I'm Delta Nine." Then, in a dazed voice, "I can't believe they would kill one another over the pendant. It scared me." She shrugged, admitting sheepishly, "That's why I left."

He nodded a bit as she put the gun away though he kept his mace in hand - not because of her but because of anyone else that might be wandering in. After all that had happened he was feeling more than a little paranoid where others were concerned. He let the other introduce herself and nodded a bit, "Theta Seven," he said as a simple introduction and then fell back into listening again.
Theta Seven let out a soft hum at her admission and shifted his shoulders a bit, "Chances are we might have to kill others...Maybe even each other if we want to survive." He pointed out quietly. Not that he wanted to kill Delta Nine. She seemed...Nice.
"Either way we probably shouldn't stick around here for too long...Uhh...Want to team up or something?" He asked awkwardly. Certainly he didn't have to team up with just Thetas, right?

Something seems to stir in the fog, and then leaps towards you! Seems like this thing isn't making any promises about not attacking.

He didn't get much of a time to react other than to yelp when the monster struck.
"Damn it!" He cried out as he stumbled back and tried to use the mace only to strike himself on the arm as if to just compound the damage already done.
He wouldn't blame Delta Nine if she ran off and wasn't honestly counting on her to stick around...

Delta Nine felt more relaxed than she had since arriving at this terrible place. Theta Seven was the first person she'd had a 'conversation' with and that made things seem a little more normal. Delta Nine liked feeling normal. It was soothing, calming...
However, fog-monsters that looked kind of like chickens were not soothing and or calming.
Screaming, Delta Nine hopped from foot to foot as she watched the chicken fog monster attack Theta Seven. "Oh my god, oh god, OH GOD!" This nice meeting was taking a turn for the worse, especially when Theta Seven went to attack the monster only to thwap himself on the arm.
"Hit it! Hit it with your mace, T-Seven!"
((Ignore dice roll, sorry Dragain! XD))

He managed to avoid the next attack - somehow and then returned with an attack of his own this time when he struck out at the Fog Monster he felt the mace hit something solid that at least wasn't himself.
In the back of his mind he was surprised Delta Nine was still there and even trying to encourage his survival somehow.

Yes! He actually hit it that time.
"Keep hitting it!" She probably didn't need to yell that out at him, but what else could she do? The monster didn't seem interested in her at all, so she would just ... support ... Theta Seven as best she could. This was some kind of bonding experience. They weren't just fighting a monster, here, they were building trust.
Haha.
"Hit it in the face!"

He swung again at the monster and found that he hit himself on the shoulder with a far, far too exuberant swing of his weapon. He let out a cry of dismay at the hit and then tried to shake it off. Of course he was aware of Delta Nine still encouraging him to defeat the Fog Monster that he was facing off against.
Though if he kept hitting himself like this the monster was certain to win.
