For a split second after he teleported he was Ares still, her tall boots and short skirts making him totter and slap at the offending tickle of cloth that rode in the worst and strangest places. Long ribbons that tickled bare skin that shouldn't have been and hair that was so long and heavy that it gave him a small headache, never mind how tight she wore her curious 'twists'.... He coughed to try and clear his lungs of the last of that infernal smoke, eyes watering and wheezing from the last of his ill timed laughter.
Oh to have seen the look on her face when he wasn't there... he had a direction, or he MIGHT have a direction he should say... it left a lot of ground to cover but if he dared to hold out that sliver of hope he could send out teams of as many captains as he could afford to scour that 'path'.
Paranoia still crept up the back of his neck, whispering in his ears and teasing his watering eyes that there were people watching him, even here...even now. He glanced about wild eyed as he tried to shake the last of the effects that played all too well on his own personal fears.
So hard to breathe, his lungs still felt heavy and he could swear he tasted it still in his mouth, what he would have given to be able to stuff a handful of tear gas under her turned up, furious nose.
Someone... no he was sure of it, but he was turning all the wrong directions to be sure who was where... he cast his eyes about too frantic to really see what he was looking for or who because on some level he was sure that somehow...SOMEHOW Ares would be right behind him.

Scheelite had been oddly quiet for two entire days. Two whole days of silence from him. No phonecalls, no text message spam, no popping in in the middle of the night to demand tacos. Nothing. Not a single peep.
That in itself was almost unsettling.
In reality the two days had been spent completely conked out in his bed at home. Zink's energy drain had been the thing that set him tumbling over the edge, and once asleep he simply didn't want to wake back up. Now that he finally -had- Scheelite was completely full of energy once again and had gone right back to searching the streets for their officers.
In the middle of his search a very familiar energy aura struck him, and his face lit up with a grin. Okay, yes, he should have been spending all his time looking again, but poking at his general to let him know he was okay was totally acceptable right! Besides, if he could sneak up on Zink, wouldn't that be an accomplishment in itself?
Damn right it would.
So without much pause to figure out why Zink had suddenly teleported in, or why the hell all he could hear was the sounds of coughing, Scheelite went rushing on in to greet him. Poor Zink would barely have time to register the new energy aura before Scheelite came flying out of the shadows and tackled him straight in the back.
"GOTCHA!"

"JESUSCHRIST!" Yelped Zink, which in itself was unusual when he wasn't murderously furious. His heartbeat LEPT in his chest thunderously and he was wide eyed and terrified in a way he had seldom been since he was a lieutenant.
For one brief moment he was utterly positive that Ares had arrived wither her rather idiotic and gullible recruit in toe to finish him off or drag him off to whatever horrors they had already undertaken to inflict on the missing 6.
In the span of that first heartbeat he'd pulled out the fragile indigo 'crystals' from his pocket, half a beat through the next they were already toppling to the floor as his fingers un curled and his foot shifted to try and ensure that they shattered on impact, by the third beat he was stumbling under the weight and momentum of his assailant as the 'crystals' fragmented with tiny crystalline sounds to unleash their noxious contents.
Most of Zink's landing was dedicated in turn to hastily shoving his goggles into place when meant his shoulder took rather more of the brunt of it than was strictly advisable, but at least he wasn't going down blind... just in pain.

Ha ha! He had done it! Scheelite had actually managed to sneak up on Zinkenite, the one that was all for plans and general sneakiness. CLEARLY this deserved a reward of some kind! Or at least a pat on the back (maybe a kiss, he could try and weasel that later).
The blonde went down with his prey, mouth opened to give a triumphant "I caaaught youuuuu Zink!" at the same time as the crystals breaking under Zinkenite's foot. As the pair fell to the ground, Scheelite's open mouth met with the cloud of tear gas as it billowed up.
At first he was only mildly irritated. God damnit more smoke? Really?! Scheelite was seriously starting to hate smoke. ALWAYS smoke, and he always seemed to end up right in the middle of it! Ah well, at least he was used to it.
The first few seconds went by, Scheelite merely shifting in the smoke cloud as he tried to check on his general.
At about the ten second mark he started to get really irritated. More so than usual. The captain raised a sleeve to rub at his eyes, but that didn't seem to be helping....
Fifteen seconds into the smoke cloud and he started to realize something was very wrong. No smoke cloud he had ever been in had made it so very hard to breathe. His throat felt like it was tightening in on itself, despite his desperate attempts to cough...and cough, and cough some more. Green eyes watered beyond his control, the tears steady no matter how much he wiped at them.
It was at thirty seconds into it that the weight on Zinkenite completely lifted, his partner busy scrambling around inside the cloud of gas to find an escape. Everything was blurry, confusing, frightening. Smoke had always bothered him, but never like this. It was terrifying in a way Scheelite hadn't felt in a long long time.
It felt like he was dying.

"... SCHEELITE!!!" came the enraged bark after the initial confusion had worn off. "...just.. TELEPORT..." he barked it as an order, frustration and embarrassment were a potent combination.
He rolled and gripped at his shoulder where the bruise was already throbbing and reminding him that it would last and he would hate it for some time, but at least he wasn't wheezing and tearing up like Scheelite, one other lieutenant had wretched from the potent smoke.
OH he wanted to give him an earful about sneaking up on him but that lesson had almost defiantly taught itself.

"W-what the hell IS this?!" The cry was rather choked, Scheelite in absolute misery. He flailed around a moment longer before the barked order finally made it through his clouded mind and he gathered his thoughts long enough to do so.
With a pop the blonde reappeared thankfully outside of the cloud, coughing and wheezing the whole while. Gloved hands were rubbing furiously at his eyes, but he could swear it was making it worse. It hadn't yet occurred to him that the fumes could settle on his clothes as well. His throat felt like it was on fire, clearly thanks to a nice few mouthfuls of noxious gas.
"I...I just wanted to t-tell you I was AWAKE." It took far longer than usual to say that sentence, every word broken up with coughs and at one point he even had to hold himself back from hurling.
Dear -god- he still felt like he might hurl.

"Well you scared the ever loving s**t out of me thank you!" He said with rather more sarcasm than was strictly needed.
"And -that-" he added perfunctorily as he waved a hand at the dissipating smog of noxious fumes. "Is my weapon upgrade... behaves in the same manner that civilian -tear gas- does... irritates soft tissues enormously, if it's as potent as the 'real' thing there is even a chance it could cause temporary blindness..."
He was at least marginally proud that his weapon was now not only a smoke screen and a vague irritant it could in fact be vaguely DANGEROUS depending on the wind conditions. Fortunately he'd had a few ranks and over a year to learn the hard way to take note of such things.
"Sit down... take a few breaths, let it get out of your system" He advised not yet ready to take his own mask down.

"I think I SWALLOWED it!"
Scheelite could hold it back no longer and the blonde stumbled off to hurl. Thankfully when he was done he felt slightly better, but he still moved to plop to the ground as ordered and simply breathe.
With time his frantic coughing died down to the occasional bit of choking, though the tears continued to stream. Behind the rivers of water it was clear to see that his eyes were red and puffy from irritation.
Oh yeah, he had learned his lesson as far as sneaking up on Zinkenite. At least when he was powered up...

Zink grimaced in disgust at the sound of Scheelite retching, though he would have to get used to that sound effect given his weapon. Still, it did nothing to help him fight the fact that the sound of someone else vomiting raised the bile in his own throat, he forced it down and concentrated on his own orders to 'just breathe' before he spoke again.
"Glad to see you up again, feeling better?" He asked letting just enough of the satisfaction he felt for having MADE Scheelite sleep creep into his voice to give it the proper tone of amusement rather than the tone of 'your retching sound effects make me want to vomit as well' tones.
"Sorry for the smoke... I thought for a moment you were Ares, figures that I would run into her when I was disguised as her." He curled his lip in frustration, a small snarl that didn't even begin to touch the venom he felt for the Parallel and her 'brood'.

"What the hell happened? Heather said I slept for two days. Two days. That's a ridiculous amount of time to be spent sleeping! Did you miss me? Was there...any news? And I WAS feeling pretty awesome until right now...ughhhh."
He raised his hands to rub at his eyes again, which only brought out a cry of discomfort as it irritated his eyes all over again. "Does this stuff get on CLOTHES ******** ******** ******** ******** <********>. At least he didn't feel the need to hurl any further.
"Here I thought you'd be proud I managed to sneak up on you! But...guess that was my own fault. ....Wait, you ran into Ares?!" Scheelite stumbled back to his feet, moving closer to Zink to look him over for injuries whether it was wanted or not.

"You got Drunk." Zinkenite replied without missing a beat. He had no intention of getting into a 'you drained me, you b*****d' argument with Scheelite, not right now.
"I ran into Ares because I was milking one of her underlings for information, I got lucky... he actually started to lead me in a rather definite direction, it's not MUCH, but if it was an accurate path perhaps we can eliminate some places from the 'board' as it were."
He shrugged and wished rather hard that he had some kind of magical water bottle that went with the uniform. Wouldn't that just be the best accessory in the world after a mouth full of smoke and god knew what else.
"Other than that...no... no word." He shook his head wearily.

"...I did?" Thankfully Scheelite wasn't all that bright, and the smoke on top of that didn't help matters anyway. He wouldn't question the drunkenness, not yet at least. "Oh...well okay! At least I'm better now! And totally full of energy and ready to do stuff...-after- I quit coughing."
As Zink explained the captain grumbled to himself about smoke on his uniform and powered down. It was perhaps a dangerous move, but getting into -clean- clothes so he could wipe at his eyes was important. Once the contaminated clothes were off of him, it was easy to use his civilian clothes to wipe at his eyes.
Still hurt like a ******** -b***h- though.
"I'm ready to start looking again Zink...just tell me what to do and I'm on it."

"I may have a direction for us to follow... I'm not POSITIVE if it's legitimate, but it's more than I've had to date... I still don't know HOW the hell they are keeping us from finding them... so I want you and any other captains you can GET to take maps when you go out."
He waved his hands punctuating his thoughts with hand jesters in his excitement. Sweeping fingers and waving arms dictated that they should mark down the paths they took, they should mark them down in as much detail as they could.
Perhaps the secret to finding the Senshi Bastards wasn't what they could find or where they went, it was where they had to date failed to go.
"I want you to go -everywhere- I don't care if you need to find one of us who has a LOCK pick, bring a Ski mask bring gloves, don't leave fingerprints that might track back to your civilian side... just look."
He paced back and forth thinking.
"I know their not... SEEMING to go anywhere logical but track any senshi you can too, back up when your done because you'll want to retrace your steps but I want to know where they are going, SOONER or later enough of them will return to a GIVEN location, something HOPEFULLY in line with the path that Idiot started to take tonight and then...THEN we might finally have them."

Demy suddenly burst into a wide grin, one entirely incapable of hiding his utter joy at something. He hadn't smiled like that in days, hadn't felt his usual joy since the day the officers went missing. But for that moment, he had something to be insanely proud of.
"Maybe this will help." He pulled out a piece of paper, and unfolding it proved it to be the very object Zink was hoping the remaining officers would carry. A map. Though this particular map had numerous and very large sections colored in with a blue highlighter.
"I...I had to take one, so I didn't get lost or end up searching the same area a bunch of times. I did nothing for a few days -but- look, so I had to be sure I was using all that time in a good way!" Well that was typically Demy, but it was also oddly quite responsible. This was important, he -had- to do it right. Mostly he had worked by taking small areas at a time, searching them thoroughly, and going to the next. Grid like in nature, and as thorough and precise as Demy could manage. For once, he was really trying to do his very best.
Bits of the map had maroon markings as well, and Demy quickly pointed those out with an explanation. "Those were the nights that Fluorite was with me training. I wanted her to have her own color..."

"Well done..." Zink said examining the map. "Both of you... nice young Lieutenant too by the way." He said glancing up at Dem having finally met her.
"This must have taken a lot of patience... thank you." He said smoothing a hand over it and examining it to see if Dem had made any further marks or notes.
"Thank you Dem... I'm sorry for ... smoking you, you just surprised me is all, you're doing great work..."
