Well I'm in an AP Studio Art class that requires us to do 12 concentration pieces for one of the portfolios that we will submit at the end of the year. All 12 images must exist under a theme.
For my theme I picked to do the plot line of my story, "Guilt". I am drawing key points in the story as it goes along.

But, first to understand things better:

In my story there is a war between humans and the species that they deem to threaten their existence. To the species that they see as a threat they have given the title of "Elder", and it is these species that they capture and send to facilities that in turn torture them.
My protagonist, Roger, is a Guilt. Guilts look entirely human, however they have an extra sense to feel the emotions of the people around them. Misunderstanding their emotional perception, Guilts are counted as Elders by the humans and sent to the facilities. It is hard to find Guilts, however, so tests are given to the community to flush them out (as well as any Elves or Avians (winged people) that might disguise themselves).
After a test that he fails, Roger is sent to one of the torturous facilities.

This image depicts the prologue of my story. The prologue is actually my protagonist reading from a book that tells a story of creation, when the first beasts were made. The creature here is the god of beasts, Sapiens.

User Image
Well this picture doesn't show much interesting, but that is sort of the point to it. This is my protagonist's cat, Damian. i just wanted to show a calm little setting before things take a turn for the worst for my character.

User Image
Following the plot line, my protagonist, Roger, finds himself being sent to a one of the torturous facilities. There he discovers that it is not humans that torture the Elders there, but actually Felidae, lion-like men, guised under the ironic white lion masks that also represent the emblem of the human king.

User Image
Lloyd, a Red-eyed Elf (there are Blue-eyes and Red-eyes-- Blues are talented in medicinal magic whereas Red-eyes are combative). Lloyd was sent to the same facility as Roger four years before the start of the story. There Lloyd lost his arm and right eye and, after deemed incapable of continuing his fighting tests there, was mixed in with the Blue-eyes for testing. Every week Lloyd had his wounds rended open several times until they finally refused to heal. Now the Elf relies on the pressure of his bandages to keep him alive.
I mainly drew this to show the extent of the facilities torturous ways, and because Roger ends up being paired with Lloyd in the facility, forced to sit aside and feel Lloyd's pain through his Guilty senses as the one-armed Elf is forced to once again fight.

User Image
My OC, Shicki, a Royal wolf. Royal wolves are horse-sized, very intelligent wolves. The wolves are very proud creatures and are rarely captured-- preferring to be killed. It is because of Shicki's capture, and his pack's ultimate trip to rescue him, that Roger finds himself leaving the facility as no Elder has been capable of in the past.

User Image
The Royal wolves coming to the facility to save their comrade. Their efforts become somewhat flawed as the Felidae there prove to have giant, Great Blood Hogs at their aid as mounts. Two wolves and many of the trapped Elders die in the fight-- only a handful of the trapped Elders, as well as Shicki, manage to find themselves leaving the stone walls of the prison.

User Image
Now free, the Elders that managed to be rescued by the Royal wolves (note: Royal wolves are Elders themselves) wander about, scavenging for firewood and food as they wait for the Royal wolves to start moving once more.
Roger (the ginger) finds comfort from his Guilt emotions in the small Cygnus dragon egg that hatches into little Nox (on his shoulder). All Cygnus dragons have a strange ability to press their emotions onto anyone that they touch; this cancels out all other emotions around them when interacted with a Guilt.

User Image
While traveling with the wolves, the Elders are attacked by Felidae tracking them. Roger is one of the few shot and, in his unconsciousness, suffers a near-death experience in which he meets the god Sapiens.

User Image
I wanted to draw one of the Humanoids riding a Royal so I decided to illustrate Bane, the alpha male, with Parsley, the Red-eyed Elf on his back.

That's all I have so far. Tell me what you think! C:

I'm not in AP classes (in college) but I do have to turn in a portfolio for my art/ theatre assignments

I like you pictures, will you continue into college? The only think I'll warn you about, a lot of professors consider Anime to not be art. Just be ready for that

How many works do you need in this portfolio?

I actually have aspirations towards being an author, not an artist. Art is my fall-back plan.
And I will tell you this now: my style is NOT anime, and I will take offense at that.
There is a huge difference between "anime" style, and then a style with a cartoonish touch. In anime, the proportions of the face are flat and have the same basic facial shape for every single character-- wide, triangle face, HUGE eyes, small, hardly noticable nose-- basically, if you get rid of the hair, all of the characters tend to look the same. There are variations of this, but most of those variations have very blocky styles or then bad anatomy.
But, with cartoonish styles, you focus on how each character is unique. You try you best to give them different eyes, eyebrows, chins, noses-- even ears. The anatomy is also generally better since, unalike anime, people who just draw to draw don't have to pump out thousands of images per second so you have more time to care for anatomy and what have you.

There is nothing wrong with a cartooned style, and I have yet to have any bad word from my Ap Art Teacher, even though he has slurred another kid for having an anime style (the flat, same face for everything, yadda).

I never said your style was anime. I'm not an art major and your pictures are really small, so you really can't jump down my throat when I assume someone on GAIA would draw anime. I was working on a few things at the time. I was just trying to be friendly. People on Gaia are way too easily offended.

In our portfolios we are required to have everything we can. Any shows we recently worked on, or class assignments. I have a very full portfiolio now. I think I've worked almost 50 shows to date

... You do realize those are links right? You're not supposed to look at the thumbnail-- you click them and view the image.
And, no, people on Gaia are ignorant.

So you have an unlimited portfolio?

I do now. (I was studying for finals. I blame that)

My portfolio is more than a class thing. We use them for job interviews and such, just as an artist would especially photographers. So yea basically. Its a good idea to keep it short though.
