Howl had wandered into a flowershop; well, wandered was the wrong word. He had come quite intentionally. He was stuck in his old Twinkle form--the adorable, rosy cheeked, dimpled, curly haired, big blue eyed, form that had a tendency to change ages everytime he used it. He needed to purchase ingredients for the counterspell. Plants, anyway. He had everything else he needed.
Onlookers wouldn't have been able to recognize the toddler as the great wizard Howl. He was dressed neatly in a sailor-short set with bronze buttons; his hair was shining even in the dimmer light of the flowershop. Adults near by might have thought the little boy's mother was taking him to a photoshoot. The toddler looked around briefly, before smiling. He recognized someone. He walked over to her carefully, seeming not to notice that she had someone else with her. "Hi!" he said, careful not to use her name. He had to act like he didn't know her. "I'm Twinkle."

"Mama!! Get Da lillies!!" A tiny tot bounced around in his mother's arms as they explored the flower shop, excited about each and every pretty thing he saw. He wasn't that big of a child, even a bit small for his age, but he bounced like no other.
"Sweetie, calm down!" His mother laughed, her voice ringing out softly as she gently placed the infant on the ground, on his own two feet. "Of course we'll get lillies... They are your favorite! Now go find some seeds you like, and show mama, okay?"
Actually, she wasn't here to get just flowers. After a long period of abandonment due to.. Er.. Things, her garden had gone barren, attacked by the wildlife that lived around the area. It was time to return to the things she loved, and this time, she wouldn't be alone in this endeavor. No, she will have a little pair of hands to help her~ For now, she browsed the bulbs, looking for the lillies.
Feli, was reluctant to leave his mother's side, especially once a little boy about his age came up to talk to them.
"Uh... Hai.." He murmured, hugging his momma's leg.
Alome smiled a small smile, kneeling down to the boy's level.
"Well aren't you adorable. Where's your mother, sweetie?"

"My Momma's buyin' flowers!" Howl invented quickly, wishing he'd come up with a back up story before hand. He put a thoughtful finger to his mouth. "My Daddy sick," he said; well, at least that was true enough. Vate was ill. "And he luvs garding. So we buyin' him some flowers to plant." He beamed at her, before looking to Feli. It was nice being able to talk to Alome; he had missed and worried about her.
It was even better that she didn't know who he was. And he wasn't about to give her any hints.
"Hi," he said, smiling. "What your name? I'm Twinkle. Do you want to play?"

The Butterfly girl gave a quick look around, trying to spot someone who could even remotely be this child's mother, then stopped. What was she thinking? No one would have ever guessed that Feli was her son, so she couldn't be quick to assume anything.
"Hai, I Feli, and dis is my pwetty mama 'Lome. "Excitement overcame Feli at the idea of playing with another boy his age. "Pwease, mama, can we pwease?!"
"Playing in the flower shop..?" She thought for a moment, giving the cashier a quick glance. With a smile, the cashier pointed to the connected green house, seeming to have gotten this question alot.
"You two can play back there. I can see you both from here, okay? But make sure you tell your mother, alright, Twinkle?"
"Fank you mama!!" Feli squealed a bit, grabbing his new friend's hand and tugging him out to all the flowers.
"Wow..." Was all he murmur, squeezing the other's hand between his own. It was so colorful.. "Pwetty.."

So Alome had a son. That was new. Definitely not her biological son, seeing as she was younger than Howl was, even. "Nice meet you, Feli," Howl rewarded the boy with a smile. "Pretty momma," he agreed, nodding at Feli. The butterfly girl had been one of the first girls Howl had admired when he'd come to Gaia; of course she was pretty. "Okay, thank you, Miss Lome!"
Pretending to be a toddler was harder than he'd imagined.
He allowed Feli to lead him into the greenhouse. Maybe he would find what he was looking for here, but he wasn't sure the cashier would sell it to him. He needed mandrake root mostly. "Beautiful," he agreed. "What do you want to play?"

"Mamma pweetties girl ever. She mai favorite~" He gazed at the girl through the glass, smiling at her and giving her a little wave, which she responded to with one of her own. Then A look of confusion came to Feli's face, wasn't Twinkle the one who asked HIM to play? He rocked on his heals for a moment, his hand reaching up to tug at the hat on his head.
"Um... I dunno... I wike to pain and draw, but... Oh!" He reached into his little pouch that hung at his side, and pulled out some sidewalk chalk, a remnant of his old life. So much drawing.. So Renaissance...
"We draw!!"

"One of the prettiest," Howl corrected, unable to resist. Not the prettiest, surely, but certainly one of the prettiest. "She's one of my favorites too. A friend of mine, actually," he added. He had dropped the toddler speak, since they were alone.
"You like to paint and draw, huh? Real man of Florence, hm?" Howl knew quite a bit about art, and even more about music, though he was an unmusical Welshman. "I'm not a very good artist, though," he admitted. He could draw magical symbols, but art at its very finest--well, he suspected magic and art didn't go together very well.
"Draw what?"

"Mai mama is da best." He calmly corrected the boy that was with him, ignoring the part where he stated they were friends before.
"Flo'ence was mai home, though I stayed in the Vaticent most of my life." He murmured, thinking back into that time right before HRE had to go to war.. He missed that time, Life was just so much simpler then..
"That's okay~ Art is somthin that comes from the heart. You don't need ta really think about it.
The little boy took his new friends hand, pressing a piece of chalk into it, before getting on his own hands and knees, beginning his drawing.

"No, my momma is," Howl playfully stuck his tongue out at Feli. He knew better than to believe that about his mother--besides, last time he'd seen her, he'd been drunk. "I'm originally from Wales," the mini wizard informed his new friend. "But I found a world on accident when I was young, a magical world. So I studied magic in university. You'll know what universities are, they had them back then, I think."
He blinked when a piece of chalk was pressed into his hand. "Art's from the heart, hm? No wonder I've never been good at it." He squatted down, careful not to get any chalk dust on his trousers, and began to draw.
