After the damned Blood Moon Senshi had captured several members of the Negaverse, Mica had gotten antsy. No longer content with her small territory, she had taken to roaming the city at large. The neon lights had called her to a strip of semi-popular bars, Mica watching the drunken revelry from the doorway of an abandoned building. Her outfit drew looks, but the only eyes that lingered were those that leered. Her cane, topped with a crystal befitting a pimp, only seemed to validate people’s opinions.
Mica waited. Sooner or later, the power of liquid courage would make someone approach her. She would play along, gaining a suitable means of venting her frustration. Stupid sheep, going about like there was nothing wrong, like they weren’t living in a war zone.

It so happened that in her boarding of her own horizons, Lieutenant Mica had stepped onto another lieutenant's hunting ground.
Not that Fluorite would have ever called it as such. It just happened that this bar was one of those she visited often. Hopefully not often enough to make any kind of suspicion arise, through it was hard to gauge.
In a town full of alien and monsters, what was some passed out drunks in the back of an alley ?
More curious than the drunks, through, was Mica. She stood out, in plain sight, and Fluorite watched from her alley hide-out. She stood out almost as much as she herself would stand out, even with the converses covering her foot wraps and the jacket over the top of her uniform. Mica felt safe - Mica felt like her, she could identify at least that.
Maybe she should go... ? Um. No one told her what the code was if you accidentally wound up where another agent was already on duty.

A familiar sensation tickled the edge of Mica’s awareness and eventually she allowed her eyes to slide to the side, searching for the source. Finding a girl watching her, Mica allowed one of her eyebrows to tick up, expression remaining neutral. The girl didn’t have a face she recognized. The body language was off too. Either she wasn’t the comrade Mica was sensing, or she was a new recruit. Regardless, she now had Mica’s attention.
Twirling her cane – amazing how little things could distract sheep – Mica strolled over to the alley and stopped just out of arm’s reach - the short arm's reach - of the other girl. Leaning slightly on her cane, she seemed to wait for something before casually prompting, “ And you are… ?”

Fluorite wasn't truly aware that she'd been staring. She was lost in her thoughts, pondering what she should do, before she noticed Mica coming her way and straightened just a little, in a manner that betrayed nervousness rather than actual fear.
"Lieutenant Fluorite." She offered to the dark-skinned woman. "And you... ?" Fluorite then pondered for a moment. "Should I just go elsewhere ? I had no idea anyone else... worked around here."
New, indeed.

“ Lieutenant Mica.” Disguise, language; yep, Fluorite was new. “ And don’t bother, this ain't my territory.”
Mica seemed to come to some sort of decision as her aggressively-casual stance relaxed. She remembered her newbie days all too well, so she wasn’t going to make life harder for the other Lieutenant. Well, not purposefully.
“ So, you’re fresh meat, ay? Still learnin' the ropes?”
She might not be all that experienced, but Mica liked to think that she knew the job well enough to be of use if the other Lieutenant had questions.

Likewise, Fluorite seemed to relax a bit. "Ah, okay." She really wasn't out to annoy the other members of the Negaverse, really - it was bad enough being new, it was certainly silly to make enemies on top of that.
"Yeah, im new... Im doing okay with gathering energy, really." She remembered her first encounter with a senshi and frowned - she still had many bruises thanks to that. "Senshi are the problem, really... Im not too sure how to fight them." It was bad enough that they had magic, and that Fluorite only had a card - which she summoned in her hand for emphasis. "Especially with just that."

Looking at Fluorite’s weapon – a card? - Mica snorted. “ No, best not to rely on that. Never heard o' somone dyin' from a papercut.”
Glancing to either side, Mica could see that their position was not easily visble from the street. It was cramped, but it would do; add a dose or reality, actually.
“ Right. Technically your Captain is supposed to train ya’, but I’ve nuthin better to do, so I'm thinkin' they won't mind me showin' you a couple tricks."
Sticking her cane out, she gave the side of Fluorite’s leg a light tap.
“ Show me your fightin’ stance. We’ll go from there.”
Hopefully the girl had at least watched enough movies to know what a fighting stance looked like.

Just as quickly as the card was summoned, it was twirled in between the lieutenant's fingers and it popped back out of existence. To be honest, Fluorite didn't bother to keep her 'weapon' summoned most of the time. What good could a card do, really ?
She must have somehow picked the short straw in the magical bundle, or something like that.
She tensed a bit as Mica tapped her leg lightly, and she then did as asked. Fluorite had, indeed, seen enough movies to know what a fighting stance roughly looked like. It wasn't perfect, but it wasn't completely hopeless either. At least, she hoped so.

“ Passable.”
Circling around Fluorite, Mica began using her cane to shift Fluorite’s stance slightly as she began to dispense information at a fast clip.
“ Knowing the reasons behind the theory helps. Legs shoulder-width apart gives the best balance. Slightly staggered legs gives makes it easier to move and avoid attacks. Always have one arm raised to deflect attacks.”
Coming to stand slightly to Fluorite’s side, Mica assumed her own fighting stance, slightly modified to accommodate her cane.
“ When you punch, put your shoulder and back into it for momentum. Don’t completely tense or extend the arm, or aftershocks from the punch will hurt more.” Mica demonstrated a slow-motion punch, pausing at the end of the motion to let Fluorite see how she looked. “ Try it.”
Having never tried to instruct someone in fighting before, Mica set a pace that she figured she herself could handle, expecting the other girl to keep up.

Thankfully, it seemed like the makeshift teacher and student pair were on similar wavelengths - Fluorite's mind always worked best on a fast pace, with multiple things to latch onto at once.
She allowed herself to be prodded into position, and did her best to remember it for later. It wasn't a matter of if she would need it, but when you would need it.
The short lieutenant listened silently, nodding her understanding to every point that Mica brought up.
"Hm..." Then she punched the air - extending a little too far, but seeming to catch herself just a split second too late to stop it. "That was a little too much, wasn't it ?"

“ Yes, but you caught it. Cliché as it is, practice makes perfect. Repetition too.”
Banishing her cane, Mica came to stand right in front of Fluorite, resuming a ready stance.
“ Let’s go back and forth punching and blocking. Don’t pull your punches; that can get to be a bad habit. We’ll start slow, then build to a normal speed and stop when it hurts.”
Well, of course it would hurt from the off – getting punched was never fun – but Mica had her leather suit to lessen the blow. She planned to pull her punches slightly for Fluorite, because hypocritical as it seemed, Mica knew she could punch a Senshi when needed; had done it several times before, in fact.
“ Whenever you’re ready.”

Fluorite wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, especially as far as fighting went - her knowledge could be resumed to hair-pulling and slapping - but she was perceptive enough that once she put her mind on it, she could add two and two together rather quickly, and could also be a fast learner.
She really wasn't sure about punching someone who was helping her, but she figured there wasn't a million ways to learn, and it was better to learn on someone that wouldn't completely wreck her face in return.
And so, Fluorite sucked it up, nodded, and did as she was told, going for Mica's shoulder. This revealed a few problems : she didn't know where to hit, first thing, and well, she was tiny. She definitively had no combat experience, and well... Fluorite punched like a girl, pretty much.

Fluorite’s lack of knowledge didn’t bother Mica. She twisted her upper body, neatly moving her shoulder out of the way as she sent back her own slower demonstration punch.
“ Try for the solar plexus.” Mica’s own punch was aimed there. “ The stomach has too many muscles, but the weaker solar plexus is just above. It’s a broad target, so you’re more likely to hit something, even if your opponent moves.”
Not that Mica would actually strike Fluorite there. If she couldn’t block, Mica would slow the punch; well, that and be disappointed that her new student couldn’t block such a slow punch.

....What's a solar plexus ?
Yes, it was safe to say Mica had a lot of work ahead of her. She'd expected the other girl to move, so Fluorite was able to steel herself when she ended up hitting nothing - it wasn't perfect, but it was better than falling on her face. Her reflexes were good, at the very least.
The shorter girl side-stepped out of Mica's own punch, and then aimed her own right back in the area where it looked like she was going to hit if she hadn't moved. "Like that ?"

“ Yes, like that.”
As Mica deflected the punch, the gears were turning in her head. Imparting all her knowledge upon the other Lieutenant would a while, far more the she had that night. Thankfully, there was something she could do. Maybe.
“ … you have an e-mail address? I can send you some diagrams and videos that should be educational.”
Not ideal, but better then nothing. Fluorite’s Captain would have to help her turn theory into reality, though Mica could check up on her progress if they crossed paths again.
