The world of Gaia is used to bizarre and dangerous circumstances popping up without warning. Each time such an event occurs, heroes rise up out of the Gaian populace to fight back the foes that would threaten to destroy it. This time is no exception.

They called them, "the Animated:" creatures that had once been simple, harmless objects that now seemed to be infused with motion, drive, and perhaps even minds. Some of these strange creatures are capable of speech and have stated their hatred for the "naturals" and rally others to attack the towns and cities of Gaia, and anyone who was born alive and needed nothing to spark their consciousness have become likely targets of their rage. So far, the explanations for the Animation that runs rampant through the country are only theories. No one knows how it started. No one knows how to stop it.

The main cities have been cut off from one another, and each is dealing with the Animated situation in their area. Normal weapons are of no use again the Animated; only special rings given out by G-Corp charged with what seems like a similar power can be used to defeat them. But the rings have been getting harder and harder to come by now that the G-Corp lab has gone silent, and using them drains the wearer's stamina.

Out of all of them mayhem, a group of would-be heroes bands together to solve the mystery of the Animated and defend their homelands. But will they be successful in their quest, or will they be just another rag-tag group that falls before the might of the enemy hordes?

Rules:

exclaim Follow the Gaia TOS and the RP forum rules (it's an announcement in this subforum, go check it!)
exclaim "God-moding," or controlling other people's characters, is not acceptable. If needed, you are encouraged to PM people to work out the logistics of a fight. This covers killing characters as well; you need that person's permission to kill their character.
exclaim That being said, always dodging or making your character invincible makes you look like a serious jerk. No one is all-powerful all the time.
exclaim Profiles should be sent to me, Osidiano, and first posts should wait until the profile has been accepted before being submitted.
exclaim This RP is set to follow what it would be like for a crew or clan traipsing around in zOMG!; as such, you may note that I treat it a lot like a D&D campaign. So, romance, violence, silliness and what have you is encouraged! Cursing should be kept to a bare minimum; I understand that sometimes it is the only word available to describe the situation. But please remember to stay in character and keep it PG-13.
exclaim NPCs who make appearances in the RP will be treated as free characters. This means that anyone can control them for a scene in order to help push the plot along (the plot, in case you couldn't tell, revolves around solving the mystery of the Animated). NPCs cannot join the party, and once they have served their purpose, should be left alone. You cannot take control of an NPC that someone else is currently controlling! You must wait until they relinquish control of that character.
exclaim This is a semi-literate RP. That means no chat speak, and you need to write in mostly complete sentences (a couple of fragments here or there for style purposes is acceptable). While I understand that sometimes people don't give you a lot to work with, please try to write a minimum of four or five sentences per post. There's nothing more tedious than reading over your character's every single internal motivation, and I don't expect huge novel-length posts, but four sentences isn't going to break anybody.

The parenthetical notes are just guidelines to help you out and give you an idea of what I'm expecting, too. For the time being, please create only one character; in the future, you may be able to have more, but the current limit is in place to ensure that you're not just talking to yourself. I choose these races because of the potion/equipment types available to Gaians in SkinTyte and on the MP. More race options may be added at a later date, or upon request)

Appearance: Sid was a young man of medium height, neither especially short nor especially tall. He had dark skin and shoulder-length purple hair that he often had to push back out of his face when it came untucked from behind his ears. There was a small scar on his right cheek, resting low and spanning the length from mouth to ear along his strong jawline. He wore a thick tan patch over the socket that used to house his right eye; his remaining orb was dark blue and normally narrowed in a thoughtful glare. His attire was drab and done in dull reds and earth-tones; around his neck, he wore a gold ring on a simple chain which he safely tucked away under his vest. On his right bicep was a large skull and cross-bones tattoo in thick black ink. Although he might have seemed like a formidable and battle-hardened warrior, this perception was usually marred by the large and rather childish grin he tended to affect when something amused him.

Basic Bio: Sid was born and raised in one of the smaller villages outside of Barton Town, but considers the main hub his home. When the Animated in the Village Greens began to act up, he volunteered with the Barton Regulars to help defend his village from Gnomes and Fluffs. During this time, he noticed that the Animated seemed to have their own hierarchy and became convinced that, in addition to being imbued with life, they had also gained conscious minds and were making plans to invade Barton Town. He left the Barton Regulars in search of a way to stop other objects from becoming Animated. Sid lost his eye in a raid on the Gnome General's base while looking for intell on the Gnomes' next plan of action. Although he takes his quest very seriously, he is also fairly easily distracted and prone to quick decisions, so he often finds himself half-way through helping someone else with their quest before quite realizing that he is neglecting his own.

i am labtech t, fellow gib agent. i lurk in the shadows, reverse engineering zurg technology. i also am a liaison on behalf of gib and peaceful zurglings. and being a liaison means im back and forth to the mothership, so i travel alot. im also part of s-13 of gib (thats a top secret subsection of gib). and we do lots of cool things. but i cant tell you anyhting. ; )
