 Dreams are a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations occurring involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Throughout history, people have sought meaning in dreams – some say they are messages of our subconscious reaching out to us while our mind sleeps. While others say they are our innermost selves calling out to us, wishing to be heard. Some just say it’s the mind trying to interpret messages that the conscious mind cannot translate. In our dreams, we are free. We can do anything, and everything. In our dreams is where the impossible becomes possible.
The first successful Inception was never made public. The dreamscape remains a kept secret between a few of the most powerful companies in the world. It was originally created to train soldiers in the Army – but has now gained another purpose. Stealing and creating ideas. The subconscious is a wonderful thing and in it, a person’s ideas are stored. If one could, say, hack into the subconscious then they have someone’s mind on a silver platter. The deeper you go, the riskier it becomes. Here lies the potential to overthrow companies, build your own empires. Nothing is safe from the clutches of a good team. Your darkest secrets can be revealed.
Then came a process called ‘Inception.’ The first successful attempt was performed on a Robert Fischer Jr. He would never know the idea to break down his father’s company was not his own. He will die never knowing. There were companies that craved this sort of power – Cobol Engineering was one of them. They began, and perfected their own ‘Dreamwalker’ teams and soon became the largest engineering company in the world. They were – and still are business moguls. How they got there? Stealing, lying, and cheating in one of the most inventive ways possible. In the year 2026 almost everything is made by a sub-company of Cobol Engineering. In 2026 - the drugs you take when you have a headache, or your favorite chain restaurant? Sub-companies of Cobol. The very computer you are using now? Hopefully, the company that made it will soon be part of Cobol. They are the silent rulers of the world.
Political leaders are now simple figureheads. Wars are shows of weaponry genius. The world is slowly becoming a slave to Cobol Engineering, all because of Inception and Extraction. But what if a group, as skilled as the Dreamwalkers decided to stand up to Cobol. What if the world was released from it’s grasp and became free again? This is where we start.

 Cobol’s best team was created by the STILL AIR, the best extractor on their pay roll. The STILL AIR saw their vision and like it. It was the idea of power that enticed him. He instantly recruited his childhood friend the PLAYFUL WIND and got her to seek out the best members on the pay roll. From her research they managed to get the TOUGH GALE, the COOL BREEZE, the SEDUCTIVE ZEPHYR and the FREE DRAUGHT. These four were handpicked because of their specialties and expertise in their areas. Originally, the TOUGH GALE was not supposed to be in the team. It was supposed to be the PROTECTIVE EARTH, but when the STILL AIR explained the job to him, he freaked out and left the Army to create a group of his own to oppose them. The STILL AIR laughed and thought his attempts were utterly futile. They were the best.
In the end, the PROTECTIVE EARTH found his team and did his own research into the freelancers - the ones that would not ally with Cobol Engineering. He managed to get a team of semi like-minded professionals that wished to bring Cobol down. He Found the NURTURING GROUND, the COLD TUNDRA, the FIREY DESERT, the TORTURED MOUTAIN and the FREE OCEAN. First, they had to show that they are a threat to be reckoned with. To do that, they had to sabotage the missions that the Dreamwalkers get. They also had to raise awareness through important individuals and hope that the Dreamwalkers don’t barge in trying to sabotage them. It’s a war for the world’s freedom and the freedom to dream.
It has been a month since the Dreamhackers have been created and they are now a blip on the radar of the Dreamwalkers. The STILL AIR is getting more and more frustrated as his missions are getting more and more difficult to deal with when the Dreamhackers waltz in tampering with their chances of succeeding.
The Dreamwalkers were formed as a team and though minor discrepancies happen they are fizzled out rather quickly. Dreamhackers are still having issues, but they work well as a professional team.

 TERMS OF SERVICE
so guys. when you first joined this website - you know how you clicked 'I agree' on this little box? well, the paragraph you probably didn't read was the Gaia TOS. don't worry - i didn't read it either. so here it is in a nutshell .. please, no inappropriate content. by that i mean: no cybering! i don't really care if you take it to the PMs or anything, but don't do it in this roleplay. sexual content is fine - but please use common sense. don't swear every other word, blah blah. again .. common sense people.
LITERACY
i expect literacy. durr. this roleplay is for literate and up roleplayers. although i do not always want to read a mini story, if you keep it interesting and detailed you'll be all good in my books. no one liners.
POSTING
please use size nine to eleven font. please do not use blinding colours in your posts - it hurts my eyes, and i'm probably not the only one. if you could, please post at a minimum of once every other day. if you can post more often, please realize that not everyone's schedule is the same and that the person you're currently interacting with may have a busier schedule than you. please consider other roleplayers, and do not ignore someone in your post if their char has spoken or interacted with yours. if you forget that they have - please edit your post accordingly. romance and violence are both encouraged -

  Age: Thirty - fivexxxxxxGender: MalexxxxxxJob: Extractor You hide under a mask, you seem calm, collected and very stoic but there are glints in your eyes of passion. Your dream is to control those around you, and now with the dream manipulation machines – you can. You are a very cunning person behind your emotionless mask, and a great leader as well. You chose your team with the utmost precision and hoped your childhood friend the PROTECTIVE EARTH would join your plight. But he saw this for what it was. You know the Dreamhackers are a real threat, but you act as if they are mere insects. Your closest friend now is the PLAYFUL WIND, she is ever so faithful and that is what you adore about her. You feel close to her, but care little for the rest of the team. They are mere pawns in a game of chess. However as long as they do not know this, you know they will follow you blindly.

You love him, even though he probably sees you as nothing. You know your part well and you play it beautifully. You can find through your sources a fair bit about the mark, and can spot a Dreamhacker a mile away. You love the STILL AIR and care for him and for most of your team. The TOUGH GALE can be a handful, but you can steal with her. SEDUCTIVE ZEPHYR is amazing at what she does, but you feel she should not be objectifying herself. The COOL BREEZE is a little too arrogant for your tastes, his laidback nature stinks of complacency.

You come from a poor area, and the amount of money STILL AIR was offering you would set you and your family for life.You are not on the best terms with everyone and you know it. PLAYFUL WIND can be annoying but she means well, and you hate that she follows the STILL AIR like a puppy. You like her, though you would never admit that out loud. The COOL BREEZE is a lazy SOB who pisses you off to no end. He is good at what he does, but that’s where it ends.

You know it’s compound well and what should and should not be put into the mixture to create a clear, precise and very sharp dream in which your team can work. You are trained in the Dreamspace as well, but you’d rather not do the hard work. You love what you do and you are considered one of the best. Not the best, but one of them. When STILL AIR asked you to join his team you were happy to do so. It meant less work and more money right? Well yes .. but things have turned out a little different. You are indifferent to everyone. You try to get along with them, but if they don’t like you that’s their problem not yours. You are nice to them but in the end this is a job and nothing more. You are also happy to remind them of this when fights break out, nothing annoys you faster than people fighting. It’s just a waste of energy.

Your mother was a prostitute and a stripper and your father was a good for nothing customer who wanted too much. Your mother introduced you to the world of seduction from a young age. She taught you how to send males and females into blissful euphoria. Once you were old enough you went into stripping as well, but had enough pride in you to not sell yourself for sex. Your motto was always “look but don’t touch.” You’ve always had a knack for acting but could not afford to go to acting class. The tables soon turned when the Dreamscape came to be, and STILL AIR recruited you into forging. You seemed to have a natural knack for it – you’re very good at what you do, and know it. You are in love with the whole team. The whole team bar the STILL AIR. Sure he got you the job, but he is hiding himself which annoys you. Maybe one day you will break that mask, or perhaps the PLAYFUL WIND will.
