[ ! ] - Note that I have classes on Mondays through Fridays until December 8th. Don't expect me to be online at all during those days unless I don't have anything to work on. I will post stating if I am working on midterms and finals as well, but dates are unknown at the moment for those.

While there is still an invisible wall that is put up between Beltrán and the world, his interpretations are in an entirely different field than the one who took him in. In fact, he can be rather outgoing, a stark contrast to not only the previous correlations, but to what he seems to project without confrontation. Stuck in the awkward rut between child and adult, he seems to have a hard time determining which world to embrace, instead stumbling with a harsh mix of both. Beltrán is adept at voicing his opinions and showing most of his true colors when he hides behind mask and cloak, allowing him to feel safer that nobody can see his identity despite his more obvious physical traits still being in broad daylight. In this sense, he tends to be more amiable and carefree, but still he looks out primarily for numero uno.» Likes: Bel has a strong fondness for the smell of flowers, particularly the ones used to hide other smells (such as chamomile, peppermint, and lavender). He has a flair for the dramatic when comfortably in his zone, a feat he strives for, much to Selby's chagrin. When he can play up the part of the carefree actor is when you have found yourself a happy Beltrán. He is drawn to simplistic beauty, outward and inward, and may pause in routine to admire such a marvel.» Dislikes: Above all else, responsibility is most likely the highest on the list of dislikes. That isn't to say that Bel isn't responsible -- quite the contrary -- but when forced to do something, children tend to grow a hatred for it, even when it comes naturally. The invisible cuffs that Selby's own quirks have put on his actions rub him the wrong way, leading him to venture more and more on his own. This most likely stems from not wanting to be a burden on anyone, least of all the people who don't care about what he is.» Other Quirks: Strangely enough, Bel has quite the sense of smell. While not unnatural-seeming by human standards, he still has the uncanny knack for pinpointing what a smell truly is, masked or not. He is deathly afraid of open bodies of water, but is otherwise just irritated by moisture. After all, he took Bel in under his own volition, right?» Dislikes: If "dislike" could equal "things he fears," this list would include just about everything. There are some things that really stand out in his behavior, however. He dislikes crowds (or, really... just company in general), and as such, he will take a freakish amount of time to warm up to anyone. He dislikes violence, and has been known to faint at the sight of blood if he isn't in a rage himself. Perhaps the most unusual would be his crippling fear of the number seven.» Abilities: Any abilities that he has available for use are rarely seen, with his attachment to avoidance. He is extremely fire resistant, which is just about the only strange ability of his that comes into focus: he's absolutely horrendous at cooking, after all, but rarely gets burned. He has other abilities, but he has not aimed to figure them out, let alone divulge the information.

Was nearly drowned by the one who dreamt his arrival when caretaker fell off the deep end (girlfriend died in bus crash), Bel fought him off by playing dead and escaping when the grip loosened (age of 7) -- used his guardian's sword as assurance that he would make it out of the predicament alive; passed around from group to group when he needed the aid, but was otherwise on his own and distant. Found mask from a Halloween festival, and built back courage around the facade.» Selby « Will be fleshed out later. For now, some quick notes:
Used to work part-time as a corner store clerk to pay for some of his college tuition, and was also extremely defiant to boot. Wasn't afraid to state mind, or to stop someone that may or may not have been shoplifting. Was jumped after-hours, shot execution-style, and wallet-pilfered: his life was worth a grand total of $7. He wasn't ready to leave, however, and his bull-headedness and all-encompassing rage was enough to call someone who was willing to strike up a bargain: one he wasn't intent on telling, but showing after acceptance of the offer.
